@Illusion of Terra It’s a sitting room with a book shelf (holding my fav board games & books) and those chairs and an old army field desk repurposed as a game table. That is a wood chess board (el cheapo tbh).

Synopsis

Synopsis
Following the Heath Oslo incident, the existence of the US-Japanese anti-terror organization CIRS has become a matter of public knowledge. CIRS has been rebuilt from the ground up, and its most covert functions spun off to a new agency: SORD (Social Ops, Research & Development).
The goal of SORD is to train a new generation of operatives to defend the country against future threats. To that end, the organization has established a series of schools up and down the country. Mihama Academy, more-or-less left to rot after its abrupt closure, has been given new purpose as one such 'specialist training school'.
This new incarnation of Mihama Academy is home to a diverse group of students, who every day work to polish their unusual skills – sometimes on the job. Mihama now entrusts the misfit girls who attend it with guns and live ammunition.
Paying their own safety no heed, these students are again and again plunged into dangerous extrajudicial missions - all for the good of the realm.

Welcome to AF! Love you’re taste in anime!
Have you gotten the chance to watch Rising of the Shield hero yet this season? It’s really good! My taste is similar to yours so let me just tell you my favorite anime:
Trigun, Samurai X (movies), Accel world, Haikyu!, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Hajime no ippo, Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Claymore (fabulous manga), My Hero Academia, and Blue Exorcist.

If we did watch Flying witch together I’d be open to an episode a day, or even one a week. Whatever y’all can do works for me.
@Dot.com I liked the first episode pretty decently, kind of slow & has a slice of life feel to it, which I wasn’t expecting given the name. But I like the mythical elements that give it character. So far so good

So I feel like there’s so many anime I’ve never seen, will never see and therefore can’t relate to most “regular” anime watchers 🥺
Plus there’s been about a 10 year gap of time when anime kept coming out every season and I missed it. Which will still continue to happen... So yea, I’m an eternal Anime noob.

@HanaApril Connecting with folks is a worthy use of time I’d say. They won’t be around forever. Building memories sharing tea together sounds lovely
Since she likes green tea a lot, maybe order her a Matcha Green tea tin from Amazon. They are a bit more expensive and more hard to come by in stores, so she’s likely never had it, but to me it is the best tasting green tea. Japanese use it in tea ceremony.

Yea there’s one in your state that I know of, but you’d have to commit if you really wanted to go. I’ve driven from SC to NC to meet old friends at the con. Some people drive a few more states away for Dragon Con (Atlanta I think).
Just make a vacation out of it, If you really like that sort of thing that is.

Hey, I’ve seen you around the forums for a little bit now, but welcome anyway. It’s nice to hear a little bit about you.
Im pretty similar to you in some respects. I’m quiet and like to keep to myself most of the time (boring to some people I guess) but once you find your niche you’ll likely blossom
Id love to chat about your upcoming boot camp thing if you want to know anything (been there before myself).
Other than that, happy to see you here. Hopefully you find happiness being in the service and having more opportunities. If you remember any of us after boot camp you’ll be doing better than me though
