  1. I'd love to be part of a questing anime world, like Fairy Tail, or One Piece, though I didn't finish either anime, I liked their worlds, despite disliking some of the plots in the series, if it was real life I could choose my own quests.

That, or just live in an anime where I was a normal human, but in Japan.. yes, life would be more full for me in Japan, drinking tea in a tea house and growing up with martial arts (preferably taught in the home) and at school.

I guess the whole ‘I don’t trust nobody’ thing is supposed to make Naofumi seem like an antihero or badass or something but personally it’s what annoys me the most. Yes, some people are jerks but others have been grateful or at least willing to give him the benefit if the doubt. It should be pretty obvious there’s a conspiracy at work and a division in the royal family. If he could stop acting tsundere and hear Melty out, he might learn what it is.

I have found his transformation from trusting to distrusting pretty legit. I think he's putting up a pretty big barrier to keep most people away from him so he doesn't get let down again when his ideals of true compassion are found to be false.

I really enjoyed this week's episode, very easy-going. Why didn't they take the Holy Water right away though?

Best part was when spear hero talked to Filo
"I'll bet that Noafumi is working you like some sort of beast of burden"
"But I like pulling the carriage a lot"
"Naofumi, you swine, I'll cut you!"
    😂

Thanks for the reminder to watch today 😍

It sure was an interesting episode! I wish it didn't end the way it did, I wanted some more dialogue. Guess we'll see if Naofumi is convinced she isn't like her sister in the next episode, or if he's going to toss an opportunity out the window over fear.

Do you think he's right to question her character? I think she's superior to her sister and is actually honest/ truth seeking.

  4. Hey, welcome to the forum. I used to love Gravitation, been a while since I've read the manga, but it's a good Yaoi if you haven't heard of it (though you probably have).

I also LOVE shounen genre - all of my fav anime are shounen.

Currently watching Rising of the Shield Hero, It's still airing in Japan, but im trying to keep up with it.

I haven't seen your fav shounens. some of my favs:

My Hero Academia, Trigun, Hajime no ippo, Histories strongest disciple Kenichi, Haikyu!

    💕 welcome

  5. I think it would be nice to see a pinned post for topics like "what anime is this?" so that every time I look in the "anime" thread, to find potentionally interesting topics I don't see a bunch of the same topic of that question.

Instead, it could be an ongoing discussion in one thread, titled "what anime is this" or something similar.

  6. Wraithkun, I also loved Naruto growing up, the awesome power and character development was cool - I agree with some previous recommendations:

My Hero Academia will get you that same hype for sure! It's currently my new favorite.

Inuyasha is an old favorite from childhood as well, and you may like Attack on Titan, though I've only seen the trailer to season 3. (That's what's I base that opinion on) it's on my to watch list.

Id also recommend some that weren't mentioned but that fall into the same category that you may love:

Hajime no Ippo is a boxing anime that Stars a bullied teen who becomes a pro boxer 😍. It has super hype fighting and training scenes.

Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi is about a weak kid who learns martial arts from masters of different disciplines in a crazy dojo.

And finally there's Haikyu! It's a volley ball anime but it's also a shounen, so you'll probably love it too.

The explanation I’ve seen offered on Filo’s behavior is that she is more of an “animal” than Raphtalia, making it harder for her to suppress her instincts. For example, her hatred of dragons is actually a natural trait of her species and is hardwired into the primal part of her brain

Yes that does make sense, I remember the slave trader saying something like that.

However, I still beleive that powerful shard (which reminds me of the Shikon Jewl in Inuyasha) could lead her to have dark power.

I think they've leveled up enough for the 2nd wave, it needs to hurry up and get to that 🤣

  8. 😭😭😭

I thought filo died 😭 I am glad she's still alive, but now I see how cruel the maker of this show can be! I beleive since FILO swallowed that stone she is going to turn into an evil monster "God" that they have to defeat. She always seemed to have a dark side anyway, but maybe that was because she kept eating that cursed fruit from the plagued village.

@Seshi I'm not sure how to describe it really, I guess it's just simple, ordinary, heartfelt and good. It's not like anything you see know a days with anime's.

Perfect, sounds good to me. Thank you for the input.

I'm a sucker for a straightforward world, wouldn't it be nice if real life was that easy.

I'm now watching Goblin Slayer (Dub version) after I  just finished Flying Witch (Dub version).

Hey that's cool that you're watching dub right now, I'm trying to find more good dubs to watch rn and it is challenging with my limited taste 🤣

What did you like about Flying witch if you don't mind me asking? I thought about checking it out yesterday, but haven't made the decision yet.

  11. I'm pretty picky with shows that I'll watch, sometimes dropping them halfway through for lack of interest of because I don't like the way the series is going... That being said I'm having a hard time finding new anime that I like, besides rewatching old classics.

For now I am only watching Rising of the Shield hero while I wait for season 2 of My hero academia and season 4 of Haikyu!

Just tried to watch K-On! Again, couldn't get into it.

Also watched ep 1 of Sword art online & realized why I've been avoiding it for the past 5 years. 👎🏻

  12. I've been enjoying rewatching the episodes so far in English (so I can share it with my hubby).

One thing that has peaked my interest since I have rewatched it, is seeing the Queen of the so far crooked kingdom - hidden in her chaimber as if waiting to make her move. I can't wait to see what she is going to do with all of this intel she's collecting!

The view of Filo in a suggestive role keeps undermining the ideal of the series for me, it just cheapens it for me, and I'm really hoping it is put to an end soon.

loving Naofumi's transformations as the series Ian progressing, he's still in the party forming and adventuring stage, just like in any game, he's going to work on developing his skills and helping the people he comes across. I'm still finding this very interesting, and if as you say there's a dark plot coming, as long as it's not having to do with children being sexualized - I'm glad that it will continue to surprise me

  13. I absolutely love your style @SAO LILDOOP reading it from the rhythm is like listening to a Linkin Park song, used to by my jam in high school.

I also love how you tied in all the pain from the intro into a call to action there at the end, nice and uplifting.

Gives a listen. Hmm, not sure but this might be to your liking (off topic though since it's from last year)

That's cool, I've never seen a sumo anime! I'll have to check it out, kinda vibin Naruto a bit, don't care for the song tho.

So I've been a bit off topic this whole time so I'm gonna say I like the OP for Rising of the shield hero 🤣 Surprise..

Im also sure that by the time My hero academia is released, it will have an even better OP too.

  15. The song itself reminds me of "Ichirin no Hana" from Bleach ST. I liked t, but it wasn't my fave. Feels kind of angsty, it's just not my thing.

The song and mood set by the animes background, story and the scenes that are chosen for the OP itself are just as important to me, so personally, it just goes along with general taste in anime.

I like more songs like "First KO" by under star from Hajime no Ippo, because of the training behind it which gives it depth and the 3rd OP In My hero academia (although since I love that anime all of the OPs were good), that one and the first one gave me the most feels.

I didn't know the English term for that fruit and heard it here for the first time. Elderberry sounds like something out of a game 😂 Like it will have some kind of aging effect on you when consumed

Also funny then that it has great health properties in dealing with the flu and common illnesses.
