  1. Just finished my item sorter and mob grinder on my survival world. So many things I wanted to do years ago, but kept procrastinating...

Is the realms server still a thing? Or is that over now?

I watch Wumbo all the time, but I haven't seen this video yet. Thanks

  2. The 7 Million Downloads campaign has started. That means a free 4* servant. Hope your problem gets fixed soon, @The History Kid.

Id say the biggest problem with fate series is getting any of their dvds. Fate/Zero cost a lot and is hard to find. Not to mention how hard it is to get fate/stay night unlimited blade works TV dvds cost a ton.

Both Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV) are on crunchyroll, so it shouldn't be a huge to deal to watch them legally. (Unlimited Blade Works is just listed as Fate/stay night, though.) I'd agree that the biggest problem with the Fate series is the entry point, though.

Come up with a funny or clever reason to ban the user above you.

A Sword Art Online gif in 2019? That's a reason enough to kick you off of here.

    Spoiler

Really though, she's probably my favorite character from that show, so I'll give you a pass.

  4. Haha yeah, I'm just glad I don't have to run Caesar. I'm still gunning for Altera though.

I've only ran the Nobu node once, but I was surprised to see her there. I don't think it's that efficient from what I remember.

I watched episode 0 a couple weeks ago, but haven’t seen Fate Zero yet, so felt like I was missing some things. Will probably give it another try once I catch up.

Let me know how it goes! Fate/Zero seems to have a different tone than The Case Files so far, but I think they're both worth watching.

  6. I wanted to make a thread about this anime a few months ago, but I guess I lost track of time. Oh well.

Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note

The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II is a direct sequel to Fate/Zero. It takes place 10 years after the 4th Holy Grail War, starring Waver Velvet, now known as Lord El-Melloi II. The Fate series has an Urban Fantasy setting, but so far this anime has more of a Detective Mystery setting, taking place in England.

So far, I'm liking it. I like the majority of the characters from the Fate universe, but there's typically not enough material that covers the aftermath of some characters or instances of magic being used in everyday life. The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II fixes this by focusing upon the emotional impact of Fate/Zero on Waver as well as exploring the potential of magic outside of the Holy Grail War, which is mostly just expositioned by characters in Fate/stay night.

If you haven't seen any Fate, the only thing that you'd want to watch before this anime is Fate/Zero. I've heard from some people that you could watch this anime without Fate/Zero, but the OVA kind of spoils some of the events of Fate/Zero. Then again, it's nearly impossible to avoid Fate spoilers in this day and age.

I don't know if anyone is watching this, but it'd be nice to hear someone else's thoughts. I finished Episode 0 yesterday, and it felt nice to know that there's still a future for my favorite characters and stories.

  7. Popeyes ran out of chicken sandwiches AND oreo bites. The customer service was pretty terrible, and I overheard the workers getting upset at a different customer.

Oh well, the food wasn't bad. I guess that's what really matters.

  8. I'm fine with watching anime movies, it's just rare that I find a good one that's also something I like. Many anime movies are dramas, namely A Silent Voice, I Want To Eat Your Pancreas, and Your Name. Although I liked A Silent Voice, I don't really have the motivation to watch the other two. A lot of Ghibli films could also be described as Drama, but I'm not going to argue for or against that. These are typically what comes to mind when you ask someone what an anime movie is.

Some anime movies are movies that go alongside the series. There are some anime movies like Overlord's which are just a recap of the series, which I can understand skipping. Other anime movies like Kizumonogatari, No Game No Life Zero, Youjo Senki, and Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel are pretty popular though, so take that for what you will. (Hell, look how popular Dragon Ball and Pokemon movies are.)

Most importantly, I think the reason why people watch anime in general is to get attached to characters. A lot of the times people will say something like, "I watch this anime for the girl" or, "I watched this anime because of a clip on YouTube". I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with this, but that might lead into your point about anime movies, which typically focus on the plot. Wrapping that point into my previous points...

Since people are already attached to characters from the Monogatari and Fate/stay night anime, they'll feel comfortable watching Kizumonogatari and Heaven's Feel respectively. That's an obvious point. On the other hand, you're going to have to convince me to watch something like I Want To Eat Your Pancreas. I've seen many stories of sick girl heals depressed boy, so reintroducing this theme for characters I don't care about is already putting the movie at a disadvantage for me.
