  1. 1. Death Note - Started it, but never finished it. I've been spoiled pretty heavily for the ending, which people consider to be disappointing. I don't intend on finishing it.

    2. Attack on Titan - Finished season one. I don't really have a strong drive to continue it, but I didn't hate it.

    3. Sword Art Online - Made it up until the end of the original Gun Gale Online. I don't really have a desire to continue it. The story and characters didn't seem to be moving in a direction that I'd appreciate, but I do have a slight nostalgia for it since I watched it with some friends. A little overhated in my opinion, but it definitely deserves most of it.

    4. Fullmetal Alchemist - I've only seen Brotherhood. It's been almost ten years since it finished airing, so I honestly don't remember how I feel about it.

    5. One Punch Man - I love One Punch Man, but the reasons for why have definitely changed over the years. This series is probably my favorite on this last, but mainly due to the webcomic.

    6. Tokyo Ghoul - Never seen it, and I don't plan on it. I like the memes that come from the first OP, though.

    7. Steins Gate - I've seen the original Steins;Gate anime, OVAs, and movie, but I have not finished Steins;Gate 0. I got to around episode 12 and just thinking to myself "Wow, I don't care." when a major twist was revealed. It's hard to get emotionally attached to new characters in a "prequel". Overall, I like the series, but Steins;Gate 0 is on pause for now.

    8. No Game No Life - I finished season one and No Game No Life Zero. Season one was definitely an enjoyable experience, and I have a slight nostalgia for it since I watched it with friends, too. However, No Game No Life Zero was undoubtly better, and it kind of makes me hesitant to want to watch more of the original series.

    9. Naruto - I watched the original season as a kid, and I really liked it. Now, I hate what it's become. This was originally the story of a dumb, yet well-meaning kid that got set behind but still tried his best to help the people around him by sticking his head where it didn't belong. Now, it's about who's won the genetic lottery. I have no intention of ever continuing it. If Rock Lee was the main character, this show would easily be one of my favorite shows of all time.

    10. Angel Beats! - I finished it. I didn't really understand it while I was watching, but after the understanding the ending, it does give a bittersweet taste in my mouth. I can't help but feel that there were too many loose ends left untied, though. I guess it's up to the watcher's interpretation.

  2. Welcome to AF. I hosted that other interactive story, but it's on indefinite hiatus for now. There are multiple reasons, but the biggest one is that the people who have previously participated in that story are now AWOL from AF. (The next biggest being that I'm just not interested in it anymore.)

I bid you good luck on yours. I would join, but I haven't even started Madoka Magicka. I've always wanted to pick it up, but I've a got a huge chunk of other works to burn through.

  3. I don't know if I'm going to watch anymore. I finished episode two and I got turned off by the rival character. I know it's a shonen, but rival characters really rub me the wrong way when they're done a certain way, like Bakugou from MHA. (Sorry, I know you two like MHA.)

If it gets better, I might consider picking it up. For now, it's on pause.

  4. Hah, everything about this post gives me some light nostalgia. Ayanokouji from Classroom of the Elite, Parzival from Ready Player One, and Tavi from.... MLP? Dunno.

Hope you enjoy your stay here. I've been getting into Fate recently, but my all time favorites are Monogatari and Land of the Lustrous. What about you?

And yeah, I tend to spend a lot of time thinking about what to say. It's better to say something off of the top of your head than nothing at all, though.

  5. I'm not currently watching much at the moment, (still reading Fate/stay night) but I am keeping up with Tejina Senpai. It's an ongoing anime with a cute main girl, but there's a lot of fan service in it. It's chibi art style is cute, but if you can't handle ditzy girls and fan service, I would not recommend it.

Anyways, I'd probably give it 3 stars out of 5. Sometimes the score hits 2 stars out of 5. I usually don't continue anime that I rate this lowly, but episodes are only 12 minutes long each, and the pacing is really fast so it keeps your attention.

If the 5*'s were actually that much stronger, I probably would, but I've seen some 1*'s that are insane.

Merlin, Waver, and Jeanne Alter are pretty insane to be fair. I'll have to stick with Arash and Andersen for now though...

I just want a five star unit.  Just to say I have a five star unit.  The stars apparently don't mean all that much in this game outside of the rarity.

Flat 1% chance is tough. You're better off rerolling the account at the beginning to be honest.

@Humbby I actually seem to have the opposite reaction. If I hear a lot of hype surrounding a series or I go into it with high expectations, I’ve noticed I tend to be less forgiving. One of the reasons I try not to read reviews until I’ve already started to form an opinion.

@Muco I honestly didn’t think Black Clover was that bad. Even though I did drop it fairly early on, I actually think I might revisit it someday. The biggest obstacle is I tend to prefer series that just last a couple cours or at least give you a break in between to explore something different. Same reason I burned out on One Piece & Hunter x Hunter, but would like to get back into them someday.

Hard agree here. A lot of the anime that I rate poorly are actually decent anime that I think have been overhyped.

Moving back to the original question, I think positive reviews for an anime can make me appreciate more or from a different angle, but negative reviews typically leave a bad taste in my mouth. Reading analysis on shows like Bakemonogatari can help you appreciate small details that are hard to catch on your first watch. On the other hand, I've read """reviews""" on Land of the Lustrous that just make me wonder if we were even watching the same show.

  9. Coding skills are always needed, but it's obviously not for everyone. I've taken classes in Computer Information Systems, which deals with things like data management and security. Somehow, it's boring and interesting at the same time.

I am mad though, there was no option to "explode everything a lot" as a method of fighting.

I know that Jeanne D'Arc is a ruler, I was referring to this part. Sorry for the confusion.

  11. Ah, what a time to undergo maintenance...

So, I got Ruler in that quiz - but I really feel like some of the questions could be used to factor into that.  Mainly when it asks you "what do you prefer" and the descriptions of the answers are literally the definitions of the classes.  I am mad though, there was no option to "explode everything a lot" as a method of fighting.

What servant would that even be? Lol.

I *think* so.  I'm still way too new to this game to get what's going on with the mechanics.

Yeah, same here. I just really like the Fate universe.

Wanna add me anyways? My ID is 967,871,662.

Incidentally, I got into the habit of calling her Rin "The Toe Shocker" Toshaka. *totally on topic*

I always called her Toe Sucker, lol. Speaking of Rin...

I'm still not sure how to permanently unlock Ishtar (Rider). Do I have to wait?

That being said, the Fate series is killing the historian in me by genderbending all of these historical figures.  There's a constant screaming in my head about how wrong it all is. lol

Hahaha, isn't that Fate for you. Have you seen what Thomas Edison looks like?

    What's ToB and ToZX?

  15. I've been getting back into Fate recently. Has anyone else seen any Fate? The most popular adaptations are Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, both by Ufotable.

If you don't know what Fate is, it's a battle between mages to get the Holy Grail, an omnipotent wish granting device. Helping these mages are Servants, which are based off of historical figures like Thomas Edison, King Arthur, and Alexander the Great.

What really interests me about Fate is that although magic is acknowledged as being extremely important, it is also the source of a lot of pain for both families and individuals. Many characters from Fate are fleshed out, and it can be argued that Fate/Zero does not have a protagonist for its first season.

I have already seen Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, but I'm still going to read the source material for those extra bits of information. I'm also playing Fate/Grand Order every now and then, which is just crazy and a mess so far.
