Oh Heyo didn't see that you were new :P Hope you have a great time here!

I've put my CV into 12 places that have been "urgently looking for staff" 0 of them got back to me but continue to post about needing staff....

Sometimes the opposite can be true, not sure your age or experience but often especially with temporary summer work they are looking for young people. Who they can pay a much lower 'minimum' wage and who they will finish by the end of the season. If your older you'd get a higher minimum wage, or might be over qualified for the position.
-
that's the annoying part tbh, in Ireland, being 19 means they can still pay me just under the minimum wage, and as I'm only going into my second year of my degree I have no qualifications in anything other then coaching stuff so I really don't understand why absolutely nowhere as contacted back. suppose I'll just have to throw it into everywhere else and hope I have something by the start of July

got a call back for a job in a pizza place at last I finally thought I might have a job, they asked for me to bring my girlfriend with me because she's also looking for work (but never applied inside the pizza place), we got there and I basically got told they were only looking for female staff because they look better on the till so they had work for my girlfriend but not me. Pretty sure that's illegal here but okay.

the hiring females only doesnt give me bad vibes
but the way they instigated it in this situation to me is raising a lot of flagsfirstly they let you apply ~ if they only want females why let you apply
then ring you in to get to a person who hasnt applied ~what arnt they getting enough females apply
or is the trun over of staff high for some reason , but at the same time its like they are relying on the fact your there she gets job so wont leave due to not wanting to seem bad for you -
do these places employ any males ? as long as they are hiring males they can hire females for certain jobs
it can be hard to prove they are being gender bias or discriminating in some circumstances
we also have laws like this but a male still couldnt get a job at a womans only gym and other such places

You're welcome! If you have any more questions, feel free to throw them at me (just make sure they are not sharp questions....I don't do well with sharp things being thrown at me) :p Also I see you are a July baby like me! and you're from Ireland which I love so I shall now give you no choice in that I shall now adopt you as my brother. :p

Hey @[727:Metro], it's because I removed all the empty episode discussion threads (the old system we used to use that hooked in that database with the synopsis) in the old anime subforums that are now being consolidated. It will even out as you won't be the only one that lost post count. I will make up for this with an upcoming shop/points system - more details to come. ;)

Spain was my only main choice for working abroad in my degree so I was happy to taken the offer, better then being sent off to Donegal with no pay and having to find my own accomdation while trying to afford it, so when I got the offer to teach English through sports with it being payed work, free accomdation and free food for the week on the beatiful coasts of Spain I was more then happy to accept

@Metro Congratulations
@Wodahs when you started that joke I actually thought you were going for this quote: “ Back where I come from, we have universities, seats of great learning, where men go to become great thinkers. And when they come out, they think deep thoughts and with no more brains than you have. But they have one thing you haven't got: a diploma." - The Wizard of Oz

ah yes @Ohayotaku the wizard of oz
we have a chain of shops here that sell alcohol called "thirsty camel" and their radio add's usually have a "dad joke" and this scarecrow was one of the add's jokes

Any people here interested in the NBA or European basketball?
- Show previous comments 1 more

I like the NBA sometimes since I find basketball interesting and also when I watch it with my step father we bond more. ( he plays himself as well ) I don't know everything about the sport though but still enjoy it. When I say sometimes like it its because since its something I don't always watch and that into or get it. I don't know much about European basketball but it sounds cool. Sports also I was never into too much growing up but still don't mind it and respect if others are into it or play them.
-
I think European basketball is roughly the same as the NBA, since I remember hearing about some kind of international group that deals with basketball in DC. It might not be the most reliable source, and I would have to look into it later, but sports are pretty much the same around the world, at least until you get football, since that is soccer around the world, but the American variant is closer to rugby.

missed a medical appointment -_-

Anyone who is good at scheduling or just coping with a lot of work and fitting everything in, I could do with some serious help with that.
-
Hm, Well for what I do is this and I'm not the best at it either.
I try to breath or deep breath to first relax self. Then after that I try my best to focus on the task at hand. Working with each thing I need to do by organizing stuff, sometimes in order to put the important things first and little things last or if you prefer little things first than that works too. I try to remember to take my time at times unless it has to be rushed a bit, but try to remain clam through it all. I also ask for help too since it can be hard and nothing wrong with asking for help. Really not sure what to say just that's what I do to cope or schedule things. I apologize if its not the best of help. Hope things work out for you though Metro.
Sending you good and positive vibes your way~
