  1. Battle Through The Heavens or its original name, Doupo Cangqiong. It's listed as an ONA on anilist, myanimelist etc..

Although it's a Donghua - I will refer to it just as chinese anime. Anyways, where do I start, Season 1 in general is just bad, in terms of animation, story-telling and so on. It quickly gets better after it's picked up by a new animation studio in Season 2. They also made a revamp of the first season containing only 3 episodes. It's your average cultivation anime but this one in particular could be said to be among the best out there with a decent animation/story/power system.

I was avoiding these 3D "anime" for quite a while tbh. I took the plunge ultimately and i'm glad as it turned out to be better than I expected.

From the trailer it looks like another potential masterpiece from Makoto Shinkai.

I say "potential" because while I quite liked his previous film "Weathering with You" I thought that the police chase was unnecessary padding and dragged the storyline down. The film was not, in my view, as good as "Your Name".

Totally agree. I liked the theme of "Weathering with You" though but yeah it was dragged out a little too much.

Anyways, I like the fact they didn't show the face of the male character. (protagonist?) I'm so much more interested in whether this will branch into the romance genre (currently it seems to be only fantasy) just like "Your name & Weathering with you". Also, the idea with the door sounds interesting. Obviously, Makoto Shinkai's way of story-telling, art style etc..are his trademark & it's crowd pleasing as well. Just like how Studio Ghibli have its own way of doing things which is unique.

  3. Classroom of the Elite may be up your alley if you are into Psychological. There are news of a second season coming up so so you're good to go.

Word Trigger is another one I highly recommend. There are already 3 Seasons out and it covers up the rest of your preferences regarding theme/genre.

    Have fun!

  4. I started off quite early in my journey of watching anime while NOT even knowing it was called anime. It's been roughly over a decade now and the journey is yet to end.

Because its drawing/animation & storyline were so extraordinary when compared to the cartoons I watched previously, it quickly peaked my interest. Ultimately, after watching Castle in the Sky & Spirited Away successively. I figured with my 10 years that this was beyond anything i've seen so far. Thus I decided to find out more about these different but unique cartoons. Well, that's it. I've most likely seen every Studio Ghibli movie at this point of time. Makoto Shinkai takes up where Hayao Miyazaki left off and carries his legacy farther.

So what really influenced me to watch anime?

If I were to give you a short answer right upfront: Studio Ghibli

Immersive storytelling, mind-blowing animation, able to trigger ones emotions/feelings or simply scattered thoughts after watching

The emoji didn't load for me. My bad.

As for travel restrictions, I dunno about the rest of the world but, the U.S. did do that.

I do live in Europe so we most likely got a different point of view.

You should really read the article I posted a few posts up.  You have little to nothing to worry about.

I thought the emoji as well as the way I worded it would indicate that this was meant to be sarcastic.

There's another saying too: "you can put yourself in someone else's shoes, but that doesn't mean you have the same information."

You can take precautions regardless of whether you have enough information. For example, restricting travel to/from China until further notice.

  7. I'm really worried about what is to come...because I got only 4 rolls of toilet paper left. What to do when they are all used up? I really am worried...🤭

As we all know the corona virus was also just a topic people made fun of on the internet until things really took a turn to the worse and it amazes me how ignorant some people actually are to call it a hoax or pure nonsense and claim it was made up by the government so they could justify their doing. (for example travel restrictions, lockdowns etc..)

If I ever had to write on a topic such as the corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak in 2020 in the future and were asked to sum it up in one word then it would be: underestimation. Not just from the people on the internet but also from the politicians of the respective countries for taking measures way too late. Well, as the saying goes...we learn through mistakes.

I can't help but facepalm on the fact that people started to steal toilet paper from one another. I consider myself lucky to be able to wittness this all with my own eyes because I realize how dangerous it is if humans actually fall into panic. If this panic were to spread like the corona virus in a rapid speed...

  8. I went to the Library and then took a little detour to the lake of ducks, goose and big metallic whale. (It's a place quite important to me as I usually come here to calm down from the everyday stress and take a breather and have great childhood memories with friends of here)

  9. It's like a whistle but rebellious and boundless with no fear, at times whispering in our ear, so clear yet sometimes far away but also near.

    What is it?

  10. Every now and then...grey clouds appear and the sun disappear(s) thus the sky full of sorrow and grief shed a tear.

Another word to call the tear(s) of the sky?

    Rain

What is Solo Leveling all about?

    Plot

    Spoiler

Since a portal connecting our world to a world full of monsters and creatures of all kinds appeared, some people have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them: they are called hunters. The protagonist of the story, Sung Jin-Woo, is the weakest of the rank E hunters and barely stronger than a normal human. He is nicknamed by his fellow hunters as "the weakest". One day, he and other hunters find themselves trapped in an extremely dangerous dungeon, and only a few of them survive and manage to escape. Sung Jin-Woo himself hardly survives and is the only one who completes all the trials in this dungeon. He then turns into a "player" who can now see an interface showing him quests. Will he succeed in becoming the most powerful hunter?

Apparently its pretty popular among manga readers so what you guys think? What is your general opinion concerning manhwa?

  12. I've had a quite interesting conversation with an acquaintance of mine who exclaimed Demon Slayer to be the best anime of 2019 even going as far to claim it's the best anime overall. We obviously had differing views and opinions on things hence I highly recommended him to watch Vinland Saga as well as Dororo. If we go by statistics like the one on MAL - it's ratings are at the top and even old renowned anime have been pushed back on the list. To be bluntly honest, Demon Slayer's hype is partly justified but it was just people giving it too much credits. The 19 episode of Demon Slayer (fight with rui) was not inferior nor superior to for instance Attack on Titan 3rd Season (kenny's squad vs levi).

But this is merely my opinion, perhaps reading the manga too far ahead had an impact towards my view on Demon Slayer. I missed out on Fire Force due to lack of time but will probably wait for a 2nd season so I can binge watch it in one-go.

My favorite best anime in 2019 are listed in a similar order to @Ohiotaku list but Dororo is on second place and Demon Slayer on third. Vinland Saga did not disappoint me at all. Unfortunately, I did not watch Dr.Stone and also dropped Reincarnation as a Slime.

Other than that there are still a couple other remarkable mentions such as Neverland and Shield Hero as well as Attack on Titan 3rd Season. Diamond no Ace 3rd Season and Black Clover are both long-term series which had been airing throughout the whole 2019, thus included in the list.
