  1. If you are living in a place where daily life goes by pretty quick then you've probably experienced quite a handful of beautiful, weird and fascinating moments. Did you ever think of standing still and capturing the moment of your life and share it with others? Could be anything, really. Maybe a cappuccino you are enjoying or a cake you just baked. Whatever it is, share it here. Let's start with this one right here!
  2. I've gotten into photography recently and knowingly some of you around the forum share the same passion - founded the photography club. Surely, some of you are confused and aware of the club having had a different name and focus which was primarily on Light Novel. What happened to the Light Novel Club, you may ask? My interests have shifted over the years as well as activity wise. A Club doesn't last long if you don't keep it active as the leader/founder. It's the same even in anime, once a club has no members or produce results, it will close down and be replaced by another club. Frankly speaking - I reached the limit of creating clubs so I had to resort to closing down the Light Novel Club. Anyways! Welcome to the Photography Club!
  3. I will have to say that the 10th episode was visually the best so far and in general the best episode to date, partly due to Askeladd showing a tiny bit of his real self that really makes him to my favorite character in Vinland Saga. I really wish Thorfinn would try to comprehend the wisdom Askeladd shared with him.
  4. What type of anime hairstyle do you like? Feel free to name the character and post pictures of it and why do you like it. Is it a hairstyle you have yourself, perhaps? Comment below and let's find out if there are any similarities in how we choose our favorite hairstyle in anime. To start things off: Mikoto from K Project and Luculia from Violet Evergarden. I like Mikoto's hairstyle because it reflects his character and him as the Red King, looks also like a lion-mane. I honestly don't have a single clue about female hairstyles but Luculia's hairstyle looks pretty unique from my perspective. Mikoto Suoh Luculia Marlborough
  5. Haven't seen this one yet but it feels to be not the type of anime I would watch. Just Because
  6. It may seem somewhat unreasonable to talk in high regards of him after the last couple episodes but the Fire Pillar aka Kyojuro is my second favorite Pillar after Giyu.
  7. Hey, is that me over there? I gotta admit I do look delicious.
  8. I should do more biking now since the weather is rather refreshing with the cold wind blowing in my face.

You may be able to come across a good used bike @Illusion of Terra I have a habit of finding nice ones all the time that people abandon at thrift stores. But I do live in a vacation town, so perhaps that may have something to do with it.

@Muco I love riding mountain bike trails around here! Its so much fun, but I'm definitely out of shape and I can tell when I'm on one. Challenging, but I also love doing jumps over the outdoor obstacle course. You have one near you?

@Seshi Unfortunately, we don't have any mountains nearby but we do have huge forests and the roads are rather rocky here. You have to be wary of the sludge in this season since raining will be a common thing but this makes it more challenging and exciting to take out your bike and ride it in the forest. There is also a road that leads to a lookout tower from which you can look upon the trees and even see a glimpse of the lake.

We don’t have mountains close by either, they just call it mountain biking when you’re on a “mountain bike” and going on a trail here designed to mimic a mountain path. It’s fun, there’s cliffs you can fall off of if you’re not careful, but it wouldn’t be like falling off an actual mountain 😁

  9. I liked the ocean one from @Beocat and the one taken atop the hill by @efaardvark. I wonder how it would look like if it were to be taken at night, with all the stars shining. Lately, I had the idea of visiting the Television tower (highest building of the city) and take a picture of the sunset. Will probably do it soon as this thread lacks beautiful sunsets/sunrises. @Beocat @efaardvark @Seshi Let's see who can catch the most beautiful sunset, are you in? Anybody is welcome to participate.
  10. The Sky is a rather vast place far of reach for some of us. I've seen some astounding sky views in my life and my mood tends to be easily influenced by the sky. Did you ever look up on the sky and thought about putting it on camera? Any favorite place where you like to look up on the sky, for example at nights or sun dawns? It could be your childhood hangout place or just from the balcony of your apartment, while you reminisce about the past. Whatever it is - Feel free to share your current view of the sky. Of course, you can do this with just your smartphone or any other device of your choice. (I believe the quality of the camera in smartphone's are quite capable of these days) I will be starting with the first one, taken from my balcony. As you see, some of the last sun rays of the day are hidden away by the clouds.
  11. I agree with several anime listed here. Made in Abyss (around when Nanachi is introduced) and Wolf Children (was thinking about adding this to the picture above tbh) have a really great story that can bring down a tear or two. Ghibli Movies tend to be very emotional and can leave you with an empty feeling afterwards, whether you burst with joy or break into tears is something you make up in your mind yourself. Wolf Rain is also a must-watch and a great addition to the list of tearjerkers but it might be not everyone's cup of tea.
  12. After watching Bunny Girl Senpai for 4 episodes - I have had the urge desire to try shoko sticks with energy drink as reference to the third episode. Honestly the anime cover was what kept me away from watching it until now but this was in the recommendation page of Just Because so I had to give it a chance. Just to find out that it has nothing to do with bunny girls. A little disappointment...okno.

The problem with the seasonal ones is not many people watch a lot of series as they air. Participation on the  annual ones is usually higher because it allows more time to watch and a bigger pool of candidates.

I think the members came up with it because they felt CR’s “official” awards show was  too commercial/main stream. Case in point: CR “official” anime of the year 2018 was Devilman Crybaby (a Netflix series no less 🤣). The form based one was A Place Further than the Universe. Hard to imagine a bigger style gap.

I think the pretext of seasonal topics should be to give the people who are watching less anime a hint of what anime to take into consideration. It's actually a good transition into the annual threads but that's just my 2 cents on this. Unless there is no or a small amount of participation.

I have "A Place Further than the Universe" on my watch-list but haven't gotten around watching it yet.

@Muco If you’re interested we can work on this together for and “end of year” awards

  13. Don't click this spoiler unless you are up with the latest episode of Demon Slayer.
  14. What are some of your favorite anime tearjerkers? Do you know an anime tearjerker that is not as popular as the ones on the picture above? Which themes are generally used in tearjerkers where people tend to cry more often? Is it Death, Love or some other topic you can relate to? I have recently finished watching a movie named I want to eat your pancreas which is now one of my favorite tearjerkers of all time. I didn't think I would enjoy it this much. It aired back in 2018 but since then it was just getting dusty on my overly huge watch-list on MAL. I would be recommending this to anybody who has seen the other anime on the picture above. (it's the one at the first left corner)
  15. I have been using Linux for around 3-4 years. My IT teacher was using Arch Linux on his laptop which he brought to school every time. Curiosity took the better of me and when I asked him which OS he uses - his eyes widened and his face turned in full excitement like "DO YOU REALLY MEAN IT?!". It must be pretty reassuring to find out someone showing interest in his class that he would voluntarily come to him and ask questions. Of course I was not using Linux right off the bat as I felt uncomfortable with the command line and the interface. There was simply no "exe" file you could click upon installing but over the time (I installed ubuntu on my laptop) I got used to it. Obviously all software on linux are FOSS. I wish there will an increase of development regarding gaming on Linux, unfortunately it's the only point why i am not installing it on my PC as well. Wine and Steam are pretty limited in terms of games, which is a shame. I gave away my laptop with 64-bit and now using Ubuntu Mate on my 32-bit notebook - hopefully they don't ditch 32bit support like Gnome did for the upcoming releases. (support only for 14.4 and 16.4 afaik) Linux - The Grandfather of FOSS
  16. Thank you for the generous donation of 1.500 points. 😲

How can I even return this favor?

  18. FOSS is the acronym for Free Open Source Software. (Free or Open Source Software if you google it up) During the past years there has been a rise of open source software and programmers across the world have dedicated their time to develop it through platforms such as Github. Blender 2.8 was released a few weeks ago, while it was considered the only capable free option for 3D artists has now caught the interest of many big companies and the latter one being Epic Games with a donation of 1.2M. How is this in any way related to anime, you ask? Khara, the anime producer behind Evangelion and Darling in the Franxx are moving to Blender. they are currently working on “EVANGELION:3.0+1.0” which will be released in 2020. Anyway, you can read more about this here. Blender is probably the most known FOSS but there are way more of them like G.I.M.P (the free photoshop version I use to say), Kirita, Godot-engine (game engine) and the list goes so on. Do you use or know any FOSS software that you would like to mention? What is your opinion on FOSS? FOSS or proprietary software like Photoshop and Maya?
  19. I've seen many weird things on twitter but this one is pretty hilarious.

Twitter & Youtube algorithm are slowly becoming alike.

Demon Slayer was also trending in the USA during the last couple days due to the 19th episode.

  20. I always thought this anime was about girls in tight fight-suits (that additionally makes their boobs look larger) who lose part of their suits during fights to the point you could call this ecchi. I guess my first impression was wrong, will look into it. As far as I know there is also a game franchise with the same name.
  21. Giyu is my favorite character so far - obviously the anime is nowhere near the end and many new characters will be introduced later on. Why Giyu? He is a badass. Ok ok...he is also caring towards Tanjiro and Nezuko, like a long lost older brother of the Kamado siblings.
  22. Let's get this started! In all honesty, it took me a while to find a parody, acceptable for every age group.
