  1. Thanks for that, honestly you have put into perspective what I had guessed. I think my issues is time honestly, I probably get some time in the evening and some time over the weekend but none of it is ever guaranteed.

I'm interested by your comments on the way in which these games are played and I assume that unless you play an mmo on release date realistically the story is the second priority as people are trying to make their way through it to get to the end to play with the serious players.

Hmm food for thought, so thank again 🙂

I've encountered some of the same issues, to the point that I basically don't play MMO games anymore.  At least not on public servers.  They're either boring (fortnite) or the fanbase is toxic (Star Citizen) or both.  GW2 - at least as of about a year ago - was one of the better ones, but it still had issues.  It is extremely hard to find a game that has a mature, helpful player base.  Sometimes it seems like the game producers aren't even trying to find ways to punish toxic play(ers) anymore.  I also have an additional problem with simply finding time to play that pretty much rules out most of the more "grindy" games.  Add platform incompatibilities and my own refusal to support certain companies' (like EA's or Sony's) business practices and .. that doesn't leave a lot.

Some things can help.  Competition seems to bring out the worst in people so I try to avoid PvP and stick to PvE.  Casual & socially-focused games seem better as well, in general.  That doesn't work for everyone though, and even in stuff like creative-mode minecraft there's a certain class of player that just seems to get more out of the griefing process than from playing well with others.  (That said, there's a certain appeal to the chaos of "anarchy" servers, including even such ancient and much-lambasted servers as 2b2t.  Probably an acquired taste, but if you know what you're getting into and are mentally prepared they can be entertaining in their own f-ed up way.  :) )

In general though my "solution" is to only play on private servers with trusted game-friends.  That or stick to single-player mode.  Sorry, I wish I had a better answer.  :(

Appreciate that. I shall probs stick to single player mode really. Dont have any friends who are into gaming so cant play on a specific server like that sooo we shall see. Hopefully in the future there will be some changes but who knows.

  3. Any MMO fans out there.

I watch a lot of MMO style anime's, and what gets me is the friendship's and the overall appreciation that yes everyone is gamer and therefore people are there to have fun. I play a lot of single player RPG's and only therefore a damn good story and content.

Yet recently downloaded WOW and just could not hit play, cowardly I know. A while back I started playing GW2, played couple of hours before realising it is just a bunch of people running about with very little or no story or interaction. I just didn't fancy getting started to only get bashed by long time players and the toxicity of some of the forums is less appealing.

Maybe I view MMO's as some sort of fairy tale and have built it up in my head of how awesome they are etc. Also whenever somebody suggests multiplayer to me all they want to play is fornite or apex which is my version of boredom … sorry avid fans just not for me.

I don't know, any input from people would be greatly appreciate or just general advice. I have played most modern AAA rpg's, currently trying to work my way through DOS'2 definitive edition, which sometimes can be a touch taxing so I don't play it all day every day.

As said any input greatly appreciate, cheers!

  4. For me 2020 and start of 2021 hasn't been great. I'm am told constantly that I need to look for positives so yes, I still have my job and I am getting paid, yes, I still have my health although I did pack on some weight but I hopefully will loose that once my job opens back up.

For me though the last year I suppose really emphasised that I don't have any real friends, and that actually I don't have all that much direction in my life. You wake up, go to work, come home cook food and then sleep and repeat. Yes over weekends you shove in the things you enjoy (watching anime, driving my car, painting my Warhammer etc) but even still, I spend far too much time in my own head worrying or thinking about these things so it hasn't gone over well. I know it sounds incredibly needy of me, but COVID really didn't do my mental health any favours, and kinda reinforced a lot of the problems I was having before anyway.

Sorry that was dumping some c**p onto this thread sorry! SO positive, I manged to get my house ready to sell (even though that has been messy), I work and get paid, I have a partner and a family who have supported me through a lot of this and shout out to them for doing that cause I'm not easy to live with 🙂

Then didnt watch any anime for a while until I happed to sit and watch Tales of Earthsea when I was a teenager, really randomly maybe on tv or something and from there I have been watching it since. Just prefer it to alot of other media forms.

    Hey there,

so what I wanted to ask is whether anybody ever did consider to stop watching anime, because the more you watch, the less special / meaningful the individual anime becomes and to prevent certain shows, that are very important to you, from becoming meaningless in retrospect and just submerge into the mass, the only solution would be not to consume any more. I have so many anime on my list, that I think by the time I have watched most of them, there would be just too much in my head to actually be able to still care for individual characters. Since they became just one of too many. Does anybody feel like that too?

For me, yes is the answer, sometime I just have to take a step back and watch some normal stuff on tv or netflix etc. It might mean I take longer to get through my list however, it does allow me, I think, to enjoy the anime more. Im not really sure why maybe because I look forward to it.

Also on that I am currently watching 7 anime's and reading 2 light novels.......they sometime blur into one so I really have to dial it back a little bit or wait till they have finished and binge the whole series 🙂

They're a good manufacture thats for sure.

If your wondering about some more budget brands may consider something like TCL as they are somewhat disrupting the market. They certainly aren't Samsung, but they tend to have good chipsets as well as decent I/O too given the pricing.

I ended up going full tilt and grabbed the Samsung Q95T on a black friday deal........fingers crossed. It shall arrive tomorrow so quite pleased.

    Cheers for the info 🙂

  8. Thanks team, I shall look into Samsung in general as I have had around 3 TV's previously with them. I suppose the lure of LG CX is that it has 3 HDMI ports on it but realistically I will be getting the series X first then the PS5 probs 2022 given stock levels etc haha

    But cheers anyway!

  9. I was doing it, but given I'm at work most days and don't usually use my PC till weekends I haven't had the client running. Whilst the UK was in full lockdown I just joined (like a sheep) the LTT group because it was easier and I like their content etc.

  10. I know this is not anime related BUT it is sorta gaming related.

Everyone seems to recommend the LG CX tv's for the new consoles that have been released because of HDMI 2.1 etc. BUT when I google the LG CX there are a lot of complaints about Burn In issues etc.

IS burn in really common? I game maybe 2/3 hours a night during the week and maybe longer at weekends or not at all, depends how busy I am. I dont want to buy a £1200 tv and then it get buggered up because of burn in.

Also I dont have the new consoles yet, I shall be getting them next year, but if I am waiting that long for the consoles should I just wait for the 2021 Tv's or is it not worth it etc.

Any help advice or thoughts greatly appreciated.

I only stayed with it through episode 4 (subtitled), not familiar with the LNs. Most comments from people who liked it were really into the ridiculously OP MC thing & the series’ sense of humor, but didn’t appeal to me.

Il finish the first season but I am not sure it shall stay looking for it further down the line if they green light season 2

  12. Just started watching the dub of this, honestly it feels brutally rushed and is throwing characters and plot lines all over the shot. Normally when this happens everything is explained in the light novel and hasn't been put onto screen very well. Is it the same for this one or is the book as scattered as the anime? Any info would be great. I usually buy these light novels on my kindle etc but not sure I want to pay £7 for a maybe.......

    TIA

  13. He is creepy....but a quality character. I would certainly be interested in his back story but I would for a lot of the captains. I haven't read the manga so just assumed that might all be in there?

  14. I usually buy whatever merch I can get my hands on here in the UK. Personally fav two characters is Ichigo from Bleach which I have a figurine and a soft toy of and Guts from Beserk who I really want a figurine of but they are either really expensive or just hard to get hold of a high quality one.

It might not be anime related but I have to shout out to Marcus Fenix love my figurine and he is one of my fav characters,

I do intend to start reading light novels..I just gotta find time somehow..im still relatively new to anime..I just started watching it this March..but it has taken over my life unlike anything else..I mean..I have been into hollywood since 7th grade but it hasn't affected my life as much as anime..and yes!..ofcourse I'd like to get issekaid..even the biggest of losers have a chance at a good life in anime..perfect for me!..😅

    I just..okay I'll come clean..

I wanna be cool enough in life to make an anime girl fall for me..(hazukashi)...I mean..I have set standards that I think will be enough to impress an anime girl..and I wanna reach those standards...ofcourse there's no real anime girls to impress..so it'd more of a self satisfaction than anything..and they're all good things that I wanna do..I wanna learn how to play the piano..I wanna get in shape..and I just wanna get a job comfortable enough to allow me to watch anime a substantial amount of time in a day..so hey!..anime kinda makes me wanna be better in life..

Anime is the gift that keeps on giving!

And it is great to have goals, so keep true to them and you will get there.

Anime is the main tv in our house so it is easy however, light novels are a new ish for me, and I am going through all the anime I really enjoyed and reading the source material. Though I am not reading the web novels as it is easier to use my kindle.

So glad to know I'm not the only who's overly invested in anime..😅..feeling that way is a kinda of a bliss and curse...it's a feeling of sadness that you get addicted to..

Right now I am overly invested in light novels more than Anime, and it is getting kinda hard to keep up with all the different story lines at once. I feel like a god of Anime Universes and they are all under my dominion.......or something?

Don't get me started. :) After watching a really good episode or turn my head away form the screen I feel this sudden snap back in reality. It takes me a good couple of seconds to remember what I was doing, where I am at and if their is anything else I need to do during the day. I even had times where my phone was ringing and I was completely zoned into the anime. After, ill self reflect and ask my self how good the anime is so far. I swear some anime are just so damn good, you wish you lived in that realm.

Hmm living in that relm is a good point there are certainly some places I would prefer at the moment, I think that is why reincarnation appeals to me so much!!

  17. Personally I find that watching anime is a way in which I can deal with normal life. Sometimes being able to just sink yourself into a series is the only way to cope. I also find this with light novels as well. However, if I find a really solid series and it ends... I just cant bring myself to start something else almost as if my brain has to deal with the loss of characters in my life. In some respects I think people mourn the loss of well written characters regardless of medium

Irritated at a friend because he decided to become toxic over a stupid video game match.

Otherwise I'm tired and going to bed.

Gave up playing multiplayer due to the general toxic nature, and friends alike. Hopefully things will be moved on for you for the better
