I don't know if anyone would care to follow. x3

But you can checkout my lists and drop me some recommendations. I'm always looking for new anime to add to the Plan to Watch list, so I never run out! xD

My profile is a little boring, I haven't updated it at all aside from the anime and manga lists. Might actually do that this Sunday when I have time! Let me know if it's okay to add you? ^^

I like the little cherry blossom tree gifs. Might get myself something like that for mine

  2. I work in retail so I usually only get half a weekend. If it's a Sunday I have off I'll probably just relax, watch anime, catch up on manga, game, write, whatever. If it's a Saturday I sometimes take my uncle to the football.

This Saturday I'll be playing my first game of Twlight Imperium IV (god, help me).

It’s so good! Well done! Minecraft is my childhood game and even thought I don’t really play it anymore it still has a big place in my heart.

Thank you! I've built huge pagoda/castles before too but I find I don't know what to do with all the space afterwards lol.

I started playing Minecraft way back when it was still in alpha when there was nothing but dirt and stone, no health/hunger bar, etc. My friend used to bring it on his USB drive and we'd play it in class in high school lol. Amazing how much the game has grown in the last decade.

Sesshomaru was really interesting to watch grow and change in Inuyasha, he ended up with a good heart in the end but still maintained a stoic exterior. A guy that almost always kept his cool but still acted on emotion at times, often in a manner that projects as confident and unbreakable even with his back against the wall.

He is still of good heart and is stoic in Yashahime, but his stoic-ness felt almost comically emphasized to the point he barely had any real interaction with anyone, even his daughters and child bride I MEAN wife.

I don't want to talk about Sesshomaru x Rin.  I'm pretending it doesn't exist,

I made it to episode 15, and something did happen but the following episode it was back to more or less a slow paced episode and I was like I just don't care anymore. The music and the opening was good though.

Oh yeah, that episode confused the hell out of me at first. I thought when they got raided that they all got shot dead... then they were alive again next episode. Didn't realize they'd been using blanks/rubber bullets or whatever lol.

Me and my sisters have all watched "Inuyasha" in its entirety, grew up with the gang, love the world and love those guys...

and Moroha is literally the only thing about Yashahime that we all wholeheartedly liked.

Animation was visibly cheap and awkward, characters didnt act in a way that felt natural, showrunners kept throwing convoluted plot details at us to the point we stopped trying to figure out what was going on (like all of the sudden these things called "Kon" and "Haku" exist that were never mentioned before but are apparently vital to life and death?? And then there's everything with the dream butterfly and the sacred tree and threads of fate, which got really convoluted really fast), and the WHOLE show Towa is up on a pedestal as main character for seemingly no good reason, and everyone just kinda goes along with it while she gets bullshit powers left and right and never has to suffer any loss for more than 5 seconds.

Watched both seasons out of morbid curiosity... the Black Hiraikotsu was cool and Moroha is precious. Thats all lol

I can see where you're coming from with most of that. Considering Sesshomaru is my all time favorite character from anime (and Setsuna is the closest to him in terms of personality at the start) I probably have a more rose-tinted view of the show. Not that I thought it was particularly special. It doesn't come close to the original series or even the movies.

I only watched the first season, didn’t really have the same appeal of the original series for me. Granted, I’d only seen the first 54 eps of the original, since it’s hard to find past that on legal streaming sites (still enough to know who Rin & Sesshomaru are). Hulu has them & am planning to watch more of it. Might give Yashahime another chance afterwards, but not anytime soon.

Weirdly, I took a huge pause of about 6 months from the show around 50 episodes in too.

  7. I just finished watching the second season the other day. What did you folks make of it? I was enjoying it for the most part. I am still not comfortable with the whole Sesshomaru and Rin thing, I also never really found myself invested in Towa, despite her being the main character. I was more invested in Setsuna, and later Moroha after they started to give her motivation to seek out her parents.

Admittedly, about 75% of my enjoyment may have come from getting to watch Sesshomaru kick ass again.

Yeah, I wish I hadn't bought Witch Hunter Robin... I mean considering it came out alongside some right classics I was sure it was going to be good. But I'm over half way and it still so boring. I honestly dropped it.

WHR is ok, but it's weird that there's basically no plot until episode 15. Cool music though.

I honestly wish that I could do something like that! Anime is one of my favorite hobbies but other things always require my attention. ;-; It leaves me so far behind to where it takes me forever to finish a show. Sailor Moon and DBZ got me into anime, fun times! NGE is good, I'm happy it secured your interest. ^^

Honestly, I'm the same. That's why I rate it so highly along with a couple of other shows. Most of the time I manage 1-3 episodes a day. I barely ever binge watch anything so when I do it shows just how good it was!

  10. Hello and welcome back to the forums.

I can relate to this a lot. It's been about one year since me and my ex broke up from an 8 month relationship which was extremely rocky. In that time I had to deal with her being suicidal, self-harming, prone to outbursts over extremely minor things, belittling me to a point where my confidence was so low I didn't believe I'd ever be able to find a job out of fear of doing things wrong. It culminated in me being on the end of a minor case of domestic abuse and her getting with one of my close friends about 2 weeks after we parted and having to cut off my entire friend group.

Things will always get better. I'm now working a job I enjoy (for the most part), with a new group of friends and my confidence is as good as it's ever been. If she was your first girlfriend when you'll think about her from time-to-time, and a part of you will probably always still care for her. I know a part of me does, despite all the stuff that happened. In the end you've done what's best for you and your own well-being and you will reap the rewards of it in the end!

And there's no need to feel guilty! We all have lifes outside the internet (thankfully) :D

  11. Some less known dark/action shows are Canaan, El Cazador de la Bruja, Darker than Black, Shinsekai Yori, GetBackers, Casshern Sins, Mardock Scramble, Speed Grapher.

If you like science/mech shows like Steins;Gate then Noein, Kurau Phantom Memory or Vandread might be up your street,

If you want some fantasy/historical shows then Moribito, Otogizoshi, Last Exile, Erementar Gerad, xxxHolic are good.

  12. Recently I dropped Scaret Nexus and Edens Zero. Didn't find there to much substance in either of them. I don't drop a lot of shows but when I do it's usually just because I couldn't get into them, or lost interest in them somewhere along the line, and there was better stuff waiting.

Apart from Tsukiyomi Moon Phase, which I dropped because it's just... wrong.

    Saaame!

On episode 34 of Slam Dunk now and added Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan to the list of anime I'd like to watch. I put Neon Genesis Evangelion on hold for now, at episode 11.

Oh wow. I binged NGE in about 2 days. The anime that got me into anime...

As the dinosaur of the forum I thought I'd just throw that in to "brighten" up your day. 😀 🙂

Nothing like a healthy dose of existential terror to end the day 😎

So I can see Steins; Gate top right, Berserk below that at middle right (1997 is awesome - the ending still sticks with me), Toradora at middle left. Fate Unlimited Blade Works at bottom left, I prefer Zero ever so slightly but I'm a sucker for all Fate related anime and finally at bottom right I can see Claymore. A series I have not yet finished, but I enjoyed what I watched. Otherwise the other shows on the 3x3 are a mystery to me, I mean I can read the middle image says 'Noein' but I've never seen it till now.

Also the one above that I've seen somewhere - but I can't place the name.

I also prefer Zero, I just put UBW to signify Fate as a franchise. Same with Berserk.

The top left is Darker than Black which is semi-popular. It has a cult following but never got widespread acclaim, hence why we're probably never going to get a third season :(

Noein is a masterpiece. If you liked Steins;Gate then it may well be up your street.

The bottom middle is Black Clover, which everyone seems to hate. I like it because I don't have to think too much whilst I watch it. Kinda like Rwby. And the top middle is Inuyasha!

@RZ. Where did you buy all these dvds? I have been searching for dvds of my favorite anime and I couln't find them.

but beside that your collection has a lot of good manga 👍

Let's see... a variety of different places really. A lot of the more known shows like FMA, GITS, Ergo Proxy, AOT, etc I got at HMV. I recently got Log Horizon from a place called TMI near where I live (I think it's the only store they have). A couple I got from my local comic/manga store. Speed Grapher, Air, Elemental Gelade, Moribito I got in a bundle I bought from a guy on Ebay (not something I usually do but the selection was too interesting to not get). The rest I bought on Amazon or Music Magpie.

What shows have you been searching for? I might be able to find you some, or otherwise let you know why they aren't available.

  17. I used to have a recurring nightmare when I was a child where a gigantic hole would open up in the floor and start sucking everything in whilst the exit to my room was blocked by a man, who I can only describe as spinning around really fast whilst T-posing. Anyway, we moved house when I was about 6/7 years old and I never had that dream again. There was also a bizzare dream I used to have about "Mr. Moon", which was basically just a moon with legs who would walk around my house with a shopping trolley. This freaked me out, probably because in the dream I would ask my parents who he was, and they would tell me "there's nothing we can do if Mr. Moon is here." This also stopped when I moved house, as did a bunch of other dreams.

I also remember playing in my mums room at that house and turning round to see an old woman sat in the rocking chair, only for a split second. When I blinked she dissapeared and then I bolted out of the room lol.
