I just found out that butler cafes are a thing in Japan & that there is an actual anime cafe not too far from where I live. And OF COURSE these things would be revealed in the middle of a pandemic where just about everyone is on lock down. Figures!

It's dark, it's stormy, so of course you know this is the perfect time to start watching Black Butler!

Tomorrow morning's smoothie prep is done. Trying a new blend: sweet potato, beets, parsnips, carrot, banana, arugula, mango, & pineapple sprinkled with flaxseed. Truth be told, some of these smoothies don't taste the best but I'm heck bent & determined to have the Fort Knox of immune systems against this COVID-19 crud. I'll probably have it with a few slices of avocado toast, an egg white omelet, & maybe an apple for some extra fiber. Working overtime these next few days so I need some good fuel.

Thanks to @Ohiotaku and @Illusion of Terra, I have recently discovered the joy that is Somali and the Forest Spirit!

The second episode of Boogiepop Phantom showcases a unique artistic expression of how grief, shame, guilt, etc. can manifest in a person's life. I'm diggin' this show so far.

Shiki is done. Looks like Boogiepop Phantom is up next!

I've gotta say it...watching a show as scary as Shiki during a devastating pandemic at night is probably not the best idea for someone with an active, vivid imagination.

Looking up some really yummy recipes because I'm determined to have the healthiest, most epic breakfasts ever darn it!

These little evening strolls of mine are becoming the best part of my day...during a pandemic. Because why the heck not? And before anyone freaks out, yes, yes, I am keeping my distance from everyone else lol.

The weather here is nice, so I decided to get my steps in at the park across the street. Lots of people out but we all kept our distance & you know what? It wasn't nearly as awkward as I thought it would be.

Went for a drive today just to get out & clear my head. My city is beginning to look like a ghost town with businesses closing down left & right & very few people out & about. This is just becoming very surreal & extremely worrying. Hope everyone on this forum is doing well.

Alright, so the skin from the red grapes that I used in my smoothie earlier gave it a slightly bitter after taste so I'm not sure I'll be doing that again. I did however pick up some frozen diced avocado, mango, & pineapple & plan to mix those together with some nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt, a dash of cinnamon & tumeric, a teaspoon of chia seeds, & a little skim milk to thin it out a bit. Should be pretty good. I'm determined to make these healthy smoothies a fixture in my everyday eating habits.

Yeah, I try not to take the skin off my fruits if I can avoid it because you're right, there are so many good nutrients in there. And normally grapes don't give me any issues but it could have been the fact that these were frozen that had something to do with it. I'm all about boosting my immune system these days so I'm getting all the natural vitamins that I can.

Got a new frozen fruit blend for this weekend's smoothies & at 1st I didn't know what to think of how good peaches, pineapple, red seedless grapes, & kiwi would taste together. Now that I've tried it however, I must say that it's pretty good. Not one of my favorites but it'll work.

Started playing Tiny Bunny, new Russian indie horror visual novel last night against my better judgement. I laid in bed for about an hour before I could get to sleep, second guessing every shadow on my wall & every noise in the house. One of these days I'll learn I guess. In regards to the game itself, terrific art, animation, & sound effects.

That awkward moment when you download a new scary game & then have to pep talk yourself into actually playing it...

Wow, we're having another major storm in my area tonight & the thunder is literally *booming* outside my window. The flashes of lightning are very bright too. Mother Nature, is it too much to ask for you to just NOT right now? Sheesh!
-
More and more businesses in my area have either started adjusting their hours, reducing staff, or just flat out closing their doors for good. The long term financial damage that COVID-19 is doing is scary enough to make our worst night terrors want to sleep with the lights on...

Its been really bothering us in Canada too. The place I am managing....we are debating closing fully. Right now we cut our hours and have our staff working as smaller groups. The clinic I was working at before, they closed all their stores except one clinic where they are taking emergencies only. I want our place to close. I'm not going to lie, it makes me nervous I am going to get others sick in my family from one mistake seeing others. This whole situation sucks its just confusing as to what to do.

Very curious how international travel will change in the coming months after the initial impact of Covid-19. People are assuming that flights & vacations will be super cheap because companies will be trying to make money back but that may not necessarily be the case if a global recession happens. Even if it doesn't, it's very difficult for service based industries to recoup big losses even with government assistance so some prices may actually go up. Who knows?

So it's getting late & here I am sitting in the dark watching Shiki yet again. I must love to torture myself.
