Doing a summer clean up of my profile. Disconnecting a bit.
I'm sorry for being a bad friend =-= I hope everyone is safe and keeping in good spirits.

It can hard to stay active. I sometimes struggle to come up things to say, other times ramble for a half hour only to delete it without posting because I can’t make it sound “right”. And then other times just post what popped into my mind whether it’s worthwhile or not
Besides all that, we’re definitely living in stange times. Hope you’re doing well too

Hard to come up with things to say, hard to agree with what you are saying, but, I think hardest to keep up with your post once you've added it.
I feel like I just am lurking the forums and reading when I have the spare time, with no energy to jump in. I'm happy that it is active enough at least. Checking reviews definitely a plus.

Just found out one of my staff's mom was tested positive for covid. Have to close the store, get a professional cleaning service and self isolate for 10 days.
She was like, I'm not sure what to do to help you guys. Which was incredibly sweet of her. Told her to go home rest and to give our best to her mom. I would feel more for her mom then the business if she never recovered.

Pft. I just did progress checks on everyone and checked in on their thoughts with covid two days ago. Had to do it with a coworker because they all say I'm to nice when grading and giving feedback. I have a lot of high schoolers who work for me. I want them to leave this job feeling confident and have a strong sense of self worth. So, yes...they do mean a lot to me
But yes, I agree. Its not worth it getting upset at someone for something like this. I could get sick just grabbing groceries by making a mistake. And the staff let us know asap so its good.

My favorite thing about Wednesday, is working alone all day just cooking, baking and prepping for the next day.
Still, I can't wait until the fall when I can change jobs again or go back to school. Decisions decisions

Found out my cousin's wife had a miscarriage today. She was 28 weeks pregnant
Also, my sister is in her early stage of pregnancy and no one knows yet.
It was really hard to hear...and I'm not the one who was conceiving. I can't imagine what she's going through. And now, my sister is feeling anxious too.
sorry on sharing, but I feel so sad. Any advice I can give my cousin? I told her I was there if she needed to chat.

I am so sorry to hear this, my friend. I know this is just awful for them & I think your offer to listen if & when she needs to talk will go a long way. Just check in on them from time to time & continue to offer support. As for your sister, I can understand her anxiety & I'd suggest to do the same with her. Offer to listen or find things to enjoy with her that help keep her calm. Wishing much peace & healing for all of you

Another 12 hr day of work. BUT, can't complain, at least I'm working. AND my sinus infection is gone SO EXTRA HAPPY.
Still, rules are becoming more strict where I am from. We are limiting the amount of people allowed into places now. Supposedly they are going to start to fine people who are to close to each other...not taking social distancing serious enough. I read an article and felt like I was going back in time to a world where people were considered inappropriate without a chaperone mainly because it said no hugging or hand shakes. I'm ok with the rules. I don't want my family to get ill. I hope everyone is doing alright.

Soft opening until Thursday to see if we can even get people to visit....might be on a longer vacation then I thought. Canada has closed a lot of gov. spaces and people are officially nervous to be social. Its here now ^^;

Schools in my province closed, all the restaurants are empty. Having a drink at a popular hangout place and there's only 3 tables full hahah.
We're opening a new store in a few days hahaha....timing ^^;

Thanks for the anime rec. I watched the first few episodes of Ascendance of a bookworm. I like how determined Maine is to find a book also her random life improvement moments hahah. The closing song is really soothing!

Glad your enjoying it so far. It’s pretty slow to start, mainly focusing on the many set backs of her new life. But she’s determined not to give up & at least she has a loving family. Lots of world building too. Magic doesn’t appear to play much of a role at first, but becomes more evident. While she hasn’t achieved her dream by the end of the first season, she does make considerable progress & shows she is not to be under estimated even if she is in a frail child’s body.

I actually don't mind the slow start. It really is setting the scene for the viewer to get into her world. I assumed more would happen anyway. I feel like a lot of new anime almost jump into the story without enough background info and it leaves you feeling like you're missing something important. I agree, I like how she is conquering so many challenges with one goal in mind. I'll def come to you for more recommendations in the future ^^v
