As we’re all able to “talk” on here, I’m frequently guilty of forgetting that many of us aren’t even on the same continent. And quite shocking to realize how restrictive “legal” access to streaming content is, beyond the boundaries created by “exclusive” streaming rights. As much as American anime fans ••••• about it, seems to be much worse everywhere else.
For myself, I’ve been holding off on trying Disney+ until they make Summertime Rendering available. Comments I’ve been seeing is that it’s one of the year’s best anime & being a paranormal mystery sounds to be in my wheelhouse.

my company has been looking for workers constantly
my dept as much so and my next in command chain hasnt been seriously looking at the applicants the whole while that add has been running for over 12 months now as hes waiting hoping the perfect one applies
mean while loading more work onto me expecting me to keep carrying my dept more and more
the job i recently applied for is still sniffing me out and i feel finally rang my bigger boss today for my reference
needless to say my dept suddenly went in to panic mode seriously re vetting applications for the other positions , even actively contacting people they know in the industry to see if anyone was looking for a job

ive just not been in to the anime's i thought i would be this season , even havent got in to some that ive watched previous seasons of , and i seem to be struggling for content to watch

Same but probably worse. Anime just doesn't seem to be entertaining to me anymore.
Not even shows that I used to like. I find myself checking the time or letting a series run in the background while I distract myself with other things. I used to watch when I was younger, then somewhere in high school I took a decade long hiatus from it. Casually got back into it but in the last two years the same lack of interest has crept back.
Streaming shows and old television series again put a lot into perspective. I really missed living, breathing people on the screen. The reason I couldn't even keep an anime character/art pfp up as well. It didn't resonate. There's only a small number of anime I still like. One or two per year I end up watching all the way through and liking but the newer anime I seem to drop like flies. Didn't even finish the new episodes of Attack on Titan, an anime I ended up enjoying a lot over the course of its run. Don't know why but the Sports genre seems to be keeping steady.
Probably the only genre I still get enthusiastic about.
Tried everything but I think my love for anime is something I'm growing out of entirely. It's a little bittersweet...
Still love manga though!

The latest season of Kaguya-sama in particular has been underwelming for me, though Science Fell in Love & Shield Hero haven’t been that engaging either. Bookworm has probably been the best of the sequels so far. While I’m still enjoying Spy x Family, it’s been sillier than I expected & wish it would take things a bit more seriously. The ones I’m enjoying most at the moment are Executioner & her Way of Life, Birdie Wing & Heroines Run the Show.

@notEli anything and everything from heavy wide loads like mine machinery to explosives and dangerous goods to general to 3 - 45 foot trailers @25 tonne pay load each , livestock long distance or not australia is ad big as the us just a lot less populated the 3 shipping containers is solar panels for a solar farm , which was at the time the biggest in the southern hemisphere (i dont know if it still is)
-
in the company i currently work for im a yard supervisor so i do the load ups/unloads i operate all types of machinery , and im the senior driver as to all the tickets i have and thats also why with the big jobs it me thats usually doing them as the others arnt as qualified
all tho my department is currently a sub department of 5 people with around 130 in the department completly , working for a small company of around 3500 tractors(rigs)
-
That's incredibly impressive! I've always seen how difficult the work is and have so much appreciation for the drivers.
My uncle, well he was actually a friend of the family's but I grew up around him, was a driver all his life. He would stay over at my father's when he was passing through. He'd tell all kinds of stories about being out on the road or just the trouble him and my father got into during their youth.
It's funny because his family comes from a long line of wealth. Bunch of doctors, architects and lawyers. They offered him work that would have set him for life but he loved driving and getting his hands dirty.
He was pretty old school and tough as they come. Unfortunately he passed two years ago from complications with Covid. Being a heavy smoker with a bad kidney didn't help him much.
I miss his booming, cheerful voice. I'm always reminded of him when I see a driver! Good memories.

It is actually MUCH older than that, as the movie is based on a radio drama character from the 1930’s thru the 50’s
which is also where the catch-phrase originated https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shadow
He’s even been credited as an inspiration for Batman (and a certain anthromorphic Disney crimefighter

i have never really understood these 1 to 3 minute episode animes , especally the ones where the opening and closing is longet than the ep its self
like why not just keep and compile all 10-12 eps in to 1 13 to 40 minute anime once a month
as it is soon as i see the shortness of the episode it usually makes me drop the anime as i dont find short animes interesting , fun or entertaining

so if ive read it right i believe funimation is going to merge in to crunchyroll now with crunchyroll being the streamer

Crunchy streams ok but the site really, really needs an overhaul. I mean, seriously, hire a web designer who has moved beyond web 1.0 already! I haven't seen a web site as bad as crunchy's since MySpace. Half the text descriptions are unreadable on my phone or pad. (And Crunchy's own app isn't much better!) The whole practice of overloading the "season" drop-down needs to stop too. Random example... currently for "The Rising of the Shield Hero" you have to select "S1" if you want the English dub. There are 4 separate "S3" entries to select from, depending on if you want German, French, Spanish, or Portuguese dubs. If you want the original Japanese audio/subs version then you have to select "S9".
Who came up with this nonsense??? Things like language and sub/dub preferences need to be *in* preferences. Or at least have their own appropriately-named drop-downs and not be called "seasons".
I'm also very worried about the lack of competition this brings to the market segment. AT&T's tenure was bad enough but at least that seemed to be mostly due to benign neglect. I doubt clueless indifference will be an option with Sony however. Since they became a media distribution company they've consistently found ways to screw their customers whenever given half a chance. Remember the rootkit fiasco? That alone makes me want to immediately uninstall the crunchyroll app from my phone and go exclusively web-based! Definitely not getting warm fuzzy feelings from this merger/buyout. -
the best platform the parent company owns i feel even tho it didnt have the forums/comments was the animelab one they got rid off when they merged that in to funimation
ill be glad to see it all in one spot (even tho it fully hasnt happened yet) at crunchyroll finally too
and yes the rest of their site needs an overhaul too to fix stuffs , neaten things up and help improve navigation

yeh ive been watching that (tho im alittle anoyed with the 17.5 and 18.5 eps)
crunchyrol this season ive been watching well
86 EIGHTY-SIX of course
The Faraway Paladin
The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an aristocrat
and
The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made
had some others but dropped them
there are 3 others im watching on funimation but let my anima lab sub go as funimation has a shit streaming viewer and other problem so i cant see why im paying to use and told them that (they should have kept the animalab player in the takeover atleast)
but was bored enough and with a lack of material to watch i binged re rewatched SAO up to season 3 alicization
then came across Shingu

I’m watching all of those CR titles myself. Though I Keep swearing I’m gonna drop Fruit of Evolution (total garbage fire). Same with Platinum End. Went into it knowing it wouldn’t measure up to Death Note, but
Production delays keep getting more frequent (Paladin had one over the weekend too). There are ways to make recap & cast/crew specials entertaining, but when it’s just clips cobbled together, it’s an obvious stall tactic. Personally I feel like if they need more time to finish or try to maintain quality, it would be better to just skip a week. But I guess that would leave gaps in the tv schedule in Japan. New Demon Slayer arc is supposed to start Sunday, so fingers crossed .
Agree about Funi’s player. Increasingly the subtitles cut out on the Roku app & I end up finishing on my phone. I consider it worthwhile largely for Mieruko-chan & Mushoku Tensei. And while Rumble Garandoll is a harem series, it’s at least funnier & less cringe than Fruit of Evolution.
On the Netflux front, 12 eps of Girl Jojo is supposed to go up tomorrow & new season of Aggretsuko in a couple weeks.
The upcoming anime season looks pretty sparse except for the conclusion(?) of AOT. Maybe I’ll finally make a dent in my backlog list (I keep saying that too
)
Sorry for the long response
