So Artemis-1 is (hopefully) launching on the 29th. On it will be 8 smaller cubesats, which will be deployed by Artemis at 2 "bus stops" on its way to the moon. The cubesats will then find their own ways to fulfill their various missions, with NASA's Deep Space Network of tracking stations providing the data link for them all.
Or at least that was the plan. Someone recently realized that with 9 new spacecraft all vying for time on the DSN's already overbooked downlink stations it might be a good idea to see what additional options for tracking time might be available in the world in case something doesn't go as planned and one or more of the cubesats wind up needing additional tracking time due to problems post-deployment. Yeah. So now, only a couple weeks before launch, we're doing cross-support testing with the European Space Agency to make sure that's at least an option.
Let's see, 8 cubesats x 5 ESA tracking stations, uplink and downlink, call it 5 data rates and 2 or 3 different encoding schemes per sat. Maybe 10-12 hours of testing per cubesat if we're quick about it. Then there's equipment and manpower availability to allocate and schedule, factoring in the time zones of the various mission operations centers (JAXA, Italy, Goddard, etc.), the stations (Goonhilly, New Norcia, Cebrerus, etc.), and of course JPL in California.
Um.. how long did you say we had to finish this?

Over 60 webex hours in 4 days. Isn't that a violation of OSHA rules or something?

got a call back for a job in a pizza place at last I finally thought I might have a job, they asked for me to bring my girlfriend with me because she's also looking for work (but never applied inside the pizza place), we got there and I basically got told they were only looking for female staff because they look better on the till so they had work for my girlfriend but not me. Pretty sure that's illegal here but okay.
-
do these places employ any males ? as long as they are hiring males they can hire females for certain jobs
it can be hard to prove they are being gender bias or discriminating in some circumstances
we also have laws like this but a male still couldnt get a job at a womans only gym and other such places

the hiring females only doesnt give me bad vibes
but the way they instigated it in this situation to me is raising a lot of flagsfirstly they let you apply ~ if they only want females why let you apply
then ring you in to get to a person who hasnt applied ~what arnt they getting enough females apply
or is the trun over of staff high for some reason , but at the same time its like they are relying on the fact your there she gets job so wont leave due to not wanting to seem bad for you

my company has been looking for workers constantly
my dept as much so and my next in command chain hasnt been seriously looking at the applicants the whole while that add has been running for over 12 months now as hes waiting hoping the perfect one applies
mean while loading more work onto me expecting me to keep carrying my dept more and more
the job i recently applied for is still sniffing me out and i feel finally rang my bigger boss today for my reference
needless to say my dept suddenly went in to panic mode seriously re vetting applications for the other positions , even actively contacting people they know in the industry to see if anyone was looking for a job

Supposed to be 75°F this Saturday and I would be looking forward to it if it weren't for the fact that it's going to be storming.

Apparently yesterday morning (Tuesday) I woke up to my fiance's alarm clock (set for 4AM) and for some reason my half tired ass kept trying to tell Alexa to shut up, lol.
