I'm not really a dancer, to be honest, though Cy~ keeps threatening to change that. I think being able to dance is a prerequisite to being able to dance in the rain, yes?

What's one memory from your early childhood that sticks with you?

Say you're forced to babysit a kid with a bad temper and a history of pulling on babysitter-hair. Say you're paid a thousand dollars for this single babysitting. Would you do it?

Depends on the particulars of the child and the expectations placed upon me by the parents - I wouldn't be able to say for certain either way, to be completely honest.

Bad experience with kids?

Nah, I just don't do well with kids and prefer to not be around them. I am exceptionally happy that I'll never be at risk of having any.

Do you feel that children should be sheltered from unhappiness?

I feel like I should be sheltered from children.

The news of the hospital mix-up acts as a bolt of lightning that shocks me out of whatever diabolical delusion has been thrust upon me by the foul illusionist that I have been locked into combat against. Shaking off his attempt to bind and distract me from the battle at hand with his vile illusions, my sword swings out in a flash - meeting the flesh of the damnable demon's unprotected neck, severing head from neck.

With their accursed master now slain, the forces of darkness - only moments before locked into a brutal stalemate with the armies of humanity - fall back, their discipline and morale shattered as they are swiftly overtaken and pushed back into the infinite, swirling abyss of darkness from whence they came.

Now hailed as a hero, I return home to my wife and live comfortably for the rest of my life.

Other than that ... not presently. A lot of my long-term friends proved not to really have my best interests at heart in the last year or so, so my social network is a bit limited at the moment.

That's kind of a crummy thing to say to someone who put a decent bit of thought into writing this, don't you think?

I might be odd, but I prefer to encourage activity on the forum, rather than make casual comments without a great deal of thought behind them that might discourage people from being comfortable with being active here. I mean this in a very general sense, not just with regards to your comment on this thread.

With that said, I feel that I might as well clarify that this thread was written in roughly a half hour, and is more or less only the latest version of a thread that Cy~ has previously crafted on other forums in the past. As for having too much time on her hands, she has full time employment, and is in the process of writing a visual novel so... no, she really doesn't have too much time on her hands.

What's the best compliment you have received?

In general, any compliment that Cy~ gives me. She's not the sort to compliment people willy-nilly for things that may or may not be accurate - when she gives a compliment, she damn well means it and will argue with you if you try to downplay it. I've made that mistake more than once.

No, though I did rather like the old Batman movie - it was, actually the first movie my family owned on VHS. An uncle of mine gave us a bootleg copy shortly after we bought our first VCR.

If I'm being honest, it's a mixed bag for me. For starters, the cliffhanger ending set-up was rather annoying, because we're led to believe that the monkey titan is Eren's father, and even if that turns out to be true, it's not only stupid because he should have been well aware of Eren never wanting to join the cause of the titans, so giving him the power to control them is not only pointless, but could fall into a villain being overly cocky and I'm sick of that story.

I didn't really get that impression from the episodes. What makes you think that?

It also only feels so far at least that Eren was given that power simply because the anime had been backed up into a creative corner so there you go, the guy who hates titans can control them now, so why not have use this power to make all the titans kill each other, and then make whatever titan survives the bout rip it's own neck out, bam the non-titan humans win.

Consider that he just witnessed the titan that killed his mother kill the one of the people that he grew up around, and that was directly responsible for saving him as a child. Beyond that, the situation he was in was such that he was about to watch everyone he had any reason to care about be killed all in one fel swoop. Basically, I think it likely that his ability to control whatever ability it is that allowed him to do this is - at best - extremely unstable and nearly impossible, outside of instinctual use during periods of extreme duress.

Also, it boggles the mind why Ymir wasn't being controlled by Eren when we know at least some of the titans are. We have assume either some titans aren't humans, or that only weak-minded people, A.K.A. people who aren't given names or play a role in the story can be controlled, which would still make Eren too powerful, as he can control the vast majority of titans to kill the ones he can't control.

The implication is that he was only able to control mindless titans, rather than those who are able to shift into and out of titan form at will without sacrificing their own consciousness. Thus Ymir, Reiner, and Bertolt - as well as Annie - would not be impacted, though they clearly 'felt' what happened and were familiar with the concept.

As for myself, I've enjoyed the second season, though I find it unfortunate that we only got twelve episodes out of it. Thankfully the third season has already been confirmed for 2018 however, so we won't have too much of a wait ahead of us.

There's a bit of a directional shifting coming, for a while, that if they strictly follow the manga should be pretty interesting to see play out.

I've asked Cy~ the same thing but, what would you do with her on your 50th wedding anniversary?

Just thinking about this makes me feel old. Too old. I don't want to think about being 81 years old right now.

Thank you for giving this movie its due. Most people I've known have never heard of it, somehow.

Nope, but I hope to someday. I saw the trailer. It looks really disturbing. I love it. I hope it's not too confusing though. I don't really do well with movies that send you on a mind-trip...

You've probably noticed by now (I think I've mentioned it at least three or four times), but I really like it. x)

As to whether or not it's a head trip... I think that really depends on the viewer in this case, since my impression of the movie was that they wrapped everything up nicely, and explained what needed to be explained, both directly and indirectly.

Another one I really hated was Jurassic World. I thought it was a cheap, shallow cash-grab that ruined the franchise, but a lot of people said the first Jurassic Park (sitting in my Top 20 Movies list) was a glorified monster b-movie, which made me hated JW even more because of those people. Ugh.

... wow, I don't think I've ever heard of Jurassic Park being described that way. I actually enjoyed Jurassic World, myself, but I generally saw it as being the glorified monster b-movie, when compared to what came before.

Actually, a school table (which is light and square-shaped, so not very big) and a chair is more likely to miss someone than a direct punch, which is why I threw them instead of punches, because I was kinda just venting out rather than really intending to punch somebody. Like I said, I didn't have the guts.

Fair enough, that! The only time I've ever seen someone use either of them in a fight was back in highschool when one girl knocked another to the ground, stood over her, picked up a chair, and was moments away from using it to bludgeon the other, before she was knocked over by a teacher, who had come running from across the room when he saw what was going down. So when I think of a table or chair as a weapon in a fight, I usually think back to this.

I did, actually - though we first met in person like ... if I'm not mistaken, roughly a year after we first met online, so by that point I was already quite smitten... though I'd yet to actually tell her as much.
