"There is a darling kitty-cat girl in the anime I am watching, I dyed my hair purple for now, I thought it would be cute like her!" - My oma, watching Soul Eater. Lord help me.

@Wodahs His opinion is irrelevant, Oma is a single independant woman who don't need no man... Lol and I dunno how purple would work out for me, I have black hair and I'd have to bleach it to heck and back if I wanted it to show. Really fries your poor strands.

Please explain why, despite never hearing how it is actually said, I always say "Washija!" like the Chinese food lady in Dude Where's My Car.

When we were kids my brother thought he knew better than me and often chose to end an argument by basically lifting me on to a high surface (ie. Laundry shelf or high table/counterspace) and give me head a pat like I was a naïve child. Sucked cause I found it a bit demeaning and also it was a long way down...

What do you do when you feel like you've been a bad friend?
-
Everyone I am never getting a shot in my buttocks again. They said it wouldn't hurt and this is why I have trust issues.

Something like that. Never had one there before so my body was just like "Oh my lady gaga what have you put in me now IS THIS POISON OH CRAP ON TOAST IM GONNA SPAZ" and your veins just contract really bad and then you pass out. @[1363:Kohloo] you are right, it is time we rise up and demand they pay us in candy for all the times they torture us.

I need to take a hiatus from things for a while. I don't know when I'll be back. Just letting everyone know.

@Wedgy I'm... so sorry. I don' know what to say. Please take as much time as you need to recuperate, and if you need to talk to anyone, we're all here to help.

Back in Feb, I was forced to shave my head due to an unfortunate event. I've forgotten what my hair was like. Now, it's grown back... With a curly vengeance. :0

I'm 'reading' (audiobooking) my first book in what feels like forever. I heard about 'Unfollow' from an interview with its author Megan Phelps-Roper- yes, that Phelps-Roper- on TDPS podcast and I've never been sucked into a book so fascinating. It's a memoir in which she opens up about her life growing up in the Westboro Baptist Church, and how she subsequently left the church and by extension her family. I'm always interested in the stories of people who have escaped cults, and at first that's what I thought this was. But the more I learn about the family's origins and Megan's recollections of her childhood, I'm seeing a slightly different framing of it all (though I still find their messages highly revulsive.)
If you're looking for a new book to pick up, I'm recommending this one! -
Alright, question for our resident spaceman. What is your opinion about Oumuamua? I know there's no scientific consensus on it yet, but do you have any gut feelings? Speculation? Is it just a rock, or an alien craft? Or maybe it's a sentient alien species of space rock?

My idea was to do something similar online, but I just never had the time to do the research for something like that. I'd have had to quit my day job and I could not figure out a way to make something like a blog bring in enough income to replace the paycheck.
Retirement goals!!But seriously you're totally right; Occam's razor seems to apply here. I see a lot of it lately. Heavy-handed astro-science is, I'm guessing, a frequent victim of over-sensationalist just because the hype of aliens.
Not enough cryptid focus on the oceans, by contrast. There was a statistic I came across claiming we've explored more of our solar system and beyond than we have of our own oceans. For all we know, Lovecraft was right, and another intelligent species might be existing down there without us even knowing.

@Wedgy... Did you ever check out the EVNautilus channel on Youtube? Especially the ones on the underwater brine pools were pretty cool.

So, from one bookworm to another, what books have you been reading lately?

I heard you play games online; which ones do you play? (totally not being a stalker, promise.)

No, its not a Steam game. It's got its own thing. When I started playing in 2011, it was a lot easier to learn, only about 30 something characters to learn. But now the game has got a meta that changes almost weekly and 130+ champs you have to learn how to play with and against. Rough on noobs is an understatement lol

I'm stingy about spending money until we're talking Korean skincare products. I may have a problem...

Yep!! My friend uses that toner ^^ Her skin has always been so clear, but she says it's her secret weapon lol. (That, or her serum). Ahhh how are those masks?? I have never tried one. I've just been using Innisfree stuff for the past year or so~ (they're okay, but they smell pretty good ^^) I'm going to Korea next year actually with my best friend, but I agree. The secret stuff is all there~ That and I am really interested in seeing some of their procedures like laser skin treatment ^^
Yeeeesss.<3 I have heard of Dr. Jart but man do I need the money for that T^T Have you tried it?
-
WOW jealous, here. Hope it will be a fun time.
I haven't tried any of the masks I ordered yet, but I'll try to remember to report how it goes later. There's some aloe, propolis, green tea, snail, and a couple others, so I'll have a variety to sample. Innisfree has a lot of fruity masks which are fun but I only tried them once and they didn't go so well for me, sadly. That's all part of exploring your routine since one product can work differently from person to person since we all have different skin types. That's why sample packs exist! And yes, absolutely yes! It's a little thick but it works better if you pat it in and then blend rather than rubbing it on like a moisturiser. I can recommend A'Pieu Madecassoside cream if you want to try a cica product that won't hurt your budget so much.
-
^^ I'll probably end up posting a lot about the trip
(and any haul I end up buying~ I have been trying to save up for it)
For sure! I am curious how they work
I have heard a lot about snail recently. Especially in any glass skin blogs and videos. Green tea and aloe seem like they'll also do wonders for your skin ^^ As for Innisfree, did you have a reaction to the masks? I remember my skin reacting to the kiwi one in particular. I mainly stick to green tea and rose masks nowadays. But I totally agree about samples! Super helpful in making a personalized routine.
Oh my... I am so jealous!!! Do you also refrigerate it or anything? I like some of my products chilled because it helps reduce puffiness overnight
Thanks for the suggestion! Totally going to check that out bc my routine isn't set in stone yet ^^ I am trying to focus on hydration this season
