Anyone dealing with depression? I was embarrassed of talking about it besides a few ppl that know online and were helping me get through winter when it's the worst.
I've had it all my life but now that I'm older it's a pain in the ass to get under control. I honestly would be worse off without the support from everyone in my life. Online and off
Throwing a random post up to see who is getting treatment and how it's working out for you?
Yesterday my dr prescribed lexapro and I'm scared taking it because of all the side effects. What do you think is medication the answer?

You’re not alone in struggling with depression right now. I’m hesitant to share too much of my personal experience as I am very much still “lost in the weeds” . Last thing I want is to give bad advice or discourage someone from seeking help that would benefit them. I also don’t know how relatable my situation would be considering that the actual depression is a fairly recent development (less than 10 years) even if the roots for why it’s such a struggle to move past it seem to extend as far back as my conscious memory go.
Afraid my forte is more towards stupid puns/memes & making people laugh or at least providing some sort of distraction than words of wisdom or actual encouragement or constructive advice. But if it helps at all, yeah, you’re not alone in this.
