Hmmm? Then, that's definitely something for me to look forward to! Hahaha. I can confirm that everything felt truncated in the anime. Thank you for this response!
  2. Yeah, I have an SSD - I use it for games that I've modded to hell and back. It's actually getting a little old, now that I'm thinking about it. It was one of the early 120 GB ssds. I know that everyone said that they'd wear out and die, but mine is still going and I'm approaching maybe 5 years?
  3. In a heartbeat, but not without first finding a bun. Hot dogs without buns are just a little bit sad, you know? A random house is burning down and you can save your pet dog Mr. Fluffykins or me. Which would you choose?
  4. Mmm, yes, I'd give a hug. Maybe a gentle nibble on the neck.
  5. Nope! I don't think so? At least, not up to the part that I reached. @zoop finished the manga tho, so she can tell you more?
  6. Same actually. I just like him because reasons. I mean, he's basically the edgiest edgelord of the edgeverse. Parents killed? Check. Mission for vengeance? Check. Wears black tights? Oh, you fucking know it. Beats the heck out of people with his bare fists? But, of course! Rich? Handsome? Gadgets? Tech? Nice car? Check, check, check... Screw it, he's the best! I wanted to like Superman most of all, but Batman existed. I don't need any other super heroes. Hahaha.
  7. I don't really see that as unfortunate, tbh. The great majority of the anime that Zoop and I consume is from Crunchyroll. As with you, if it isn't there, I won't go elsewhere in a lot of cases unless I'm utterly desperate, which uh... Can happen in some limited cases.
  8. It's kind of sad, if you think about it, because there's a lot of opportunity for making a mystery anime that is actually good. Just the fact that it would be unique could be enough to secure a really decent audience for a new show. Still, I see probably a half-dozen harem anime every season (minor exaggeration) and no one bothers to try making a mystery.
  9. Look, I've had too much to drink, so this isn't actually possible for me to answer, right now. With that said, I think I'll just run the math and figure this out - That one in one hundred chance for 3,000 is actually really decent. I'd take those odds. Failing that (if the 3K was not an option), I'd opt for the gift card, tbh, since it's a sure thing as compared to the 100. Edit: I forgot a question... Uhhh... What's one useful thing that you have?
  10. Congratulations! I hope your new location is the best thing ever! Is it a brand new place? It's always nice to have a fresh, clean start.
  11. I feel mildly amused but in need of a set of brass knuckles and a willing participant.
  12. Can I soapbox on this a little further? Chat rooms expose a site owner to a frightening amount of liability. The reason for this is that people can post things, edit them, and (depending on settings) even delete things that they've posted. Let me just share a list of some of the shit that I have seen posted in chat rooms that were overflowing with site staff - Intense, unrelenting negativity and hostility Pedophiliac content Online "gang rape" fiction directed at other members Personal information for the purpose of harassment On a forum, all of your content is neatly categorized and tools exist for reporting, tracking reports, and responding to reports. In a chat room, you really have to be sleepless to police things perfectly, and you can still miss things or make mistakes. Chat rooms make me nervous as an administrator, because I've ended up pretty close to some hot water in the past due to no personal actions of my own. To me, that just isn't worth it.
  13. I have a simple question. Why does this site have a Discord group? There doesn't seem to be much linkage between the forum and the discord group. Not only that, but the forum itself actually has a built-in chat feature (which is rarely used). As far as I can tell, the sole function of the discord group is to cannibalize the "stickiness" of the forum. Let me speak from my own experience on this. I have ran and been a moderator in both forums and chat servers since the days of IRC bots in the mid/late 90s. Forums and chat servers do not mix. Forums are conversational frameworks that encourage interaction. Chat servers are random hodgepodges that were originally intended for for time sensitive communications. Chat servers are hard to moderate; the tools provided are sparse, the logs are troublesome, and being able to trace a specific line of events is a pita. The groups that tend to talk on chat servers do not tend to add any value to a forum community over the long term. They're used to a different medium, and they don't tend to care for the gentle exchange of ideas over long periods of time. The only good reason that I could possibly imagine for a forum to have a Discord group is for gaming. However, I see no gaming events and no gaming staff to moderate the potential messes. The only other (somewhat good) reason would be if the forum exists solely to provide announcements and support for the chat group. However, it's clear that the forum community is a fully independent creature. This takes me back to my original question. This site doesn't have a lot of moderators (certainly not enough to cover all time zones). Why spread your resources out to places that are going to be hard to control? I saw a link to a discord server posted today, and basically went like "wtf". If you look at the pros and the cons, then there are a lot more cons to discord groups than pros. It takes me back to my original question. Why? All that is being done is the creation of a separate, more difficult to moderate, community with its own culture which may or may not grow and develop in line with the forum.
  14. Today is my errand running day! Off to the races! :D

  15. Ah, I ruined my post at first! I forgot to say hullo, so hullo! Hullo and welcome! Say no more and sign me up! What shall we drink? I like the sweeter wines. Yes, yes, I'm one of those people. Pls don't judge. YESSSSSSSSSSSS, I think I love you. This anime was one of the highlights of the year for me as well, hahaha. As in introverted extrovert, I can say that this place meets all of my expectations and desires for a home online.
  16. What an interesting and high quality introductory post. Hello there! I'm Cy~ and I am also a fan of anime and roleplaying. I'm also a sometimes forum goer. Sometimes. I get scared away pretty easily, though, hahaha. I only stay on forums with pretty flawless mods and administrators. This place is generally quite lovely, and I think that almost everyone uses a PC. Just kidding! I know what you mean. Btw... I'm totally older than you, hahaha, but I consider myself a young lady~ I'm also married to my wife, whom is slightly older than me and also a young lady. I guess we have this sorta in common?
  17. It just seems like Japanese culture, on the whole, views the LGBT community in the same way that some people see circus performers. Whenever there is a character that isn't straight, it's almost always played for laughs or downplayed dramatically (with them painted as being highly eccentric). Just as one facet of this, I could probably track down about a hundred examples in anime of gay guys with their face painted that talk in an exaggerated falsetto and are either evil or morally conflicted. To be honest, I think that anime would have to grow beyond the Japanese cultural sphere before we would ever see a sensitive and thorough treatment of any LGBT themes. Either that, or Japanese culture would have to broaden and modernize, which is kinda happening these days but at a verrrrry sloowwww pace.
  18. I think that I'm going to add Konosuba to this list, even though it was really popular. It was so unapologetically goofy, slapstick, and semi-ecchi. It felt like every single anime trope that everyone wrote about in the tropes topic was represented at full force and then some. However, it was so comically self-aware of what it was doing, with jokes at the shows on expense, genre awareness, and really smart comedy. I feel like a hypocrite when I watch it because it's utter trash. However, it's the best utter trash that was out during that particular season, and I still consider it an excellent comedy/fantasy. The fact that it kept walking deeper into the mud was what kinda made it good (keeping in mind that it was carried by fabulous writing). So, yeah, definitely my guilty pleasure, due to guilt from myself, ahaha.
  19. Holy shit, that's actually a fantastic idea. Hahaha. I would actually watch this, especially if it focused heavily on geopolitics and took on the character of a lightweight thriller. Those can actually be really satisfying...
  20. You know, I totally forgot about this particular trope. I'm so used to seeing it in anime that I've learned how to tune it out. Lmfao. I've never actually understood it, since, you know, there are some serious disadvantages towards moving quickly when you have these things that have their own sense of momentum and direction. It's always weird watching the fight scenes animate with these characters. I guess it's supposed to be "fan service", but I usually just end up pausing and going like, "WTF IS THIS!?!?!" lol
  21. Same actually! One of the things that makes me sad is that I've reached the point where most of the recommendeds on Anime Planet are also things that I have already seen. I think that it might be my own fault for liking anime that are in a relatively narrow scope. Though, one thing that I haven't actually done is read through the comments in detail. I just started doing that recently and noticed that people actually include a lot of detail on shows, including other shows besides the recommendation. The adventure continues!
  22. You know, it was almost like I could see the future! I'll let the world guess which 1 of these I am. Hahaha. In retrospect, I think that I really regret dismissing anime when I first stumbled on it. Would have been interesting to have the entertainment provided by anime when I was a kid and really had the time for burying myself in it.
  23. Nice one! You actually had me going there, hahaha. I read SAO and I just stopped there to process, hahaah. I actually left this one off my list, because I don't particularly like it. With that said, there are some really heavy themes in Evangelion and lots of amusingly interpretative religious allegory. It's actually a really captivating example of the human experience, and it has mecha. This is good.
  24. Actually, I'll second this for sure. Hahaha. I think that incest is used as a shortcut for actually building deep, meaningful relationships. They can take a shortcut by saying "hahaha, they're family!" However, the thing is, it's just as effective from a writing perspective to just write them as childhood friends. Another possible explanation is that it's only done to exploit the shock value. It's so common in anime, though, that I don't even blink anymore. It's just weirdly expected.
