  1. Remember seeing this site a while ago, it seems that they've updated it a lot with new entries, as there were not nearly as much before on my birthday.  The ones that I recognize out of the list that share my birthday would be:

    [mal type=character id=22636]

    [mal type=character id=46163]

A side-story fan, then?  Hmm...I used to be that way too but my tastes just keep evolving over time.  I'm even starting to get slightly interested in sports-related anime (though I have no real life interest in sports.  Very odd.).  As for cringeworthy cookie cutter events, I can definitely name a few (wind blows the skirt up as the MC takes an innocent picture ending in a slap, MC and HC run into one another and land in a compromising position ending in a slap, MC walks in on HC in the nude ending in a slap...) as they are the reason I still know how to roll my eyes.  I'm surprised you were able to watch the Irregulars.  That one was a huge turn off for me (probably because it was thrust into my face almost immediately on the first episode).  I've come to believe that most MC's have sisters so that they can be a harem member eventually.  -_-

Yeah, I used to like just normal romances a bit more, but its just not something I enjoy as much nowadays.  Don't know how you do it with the sports anime though.  I've tried several, but none of them really seem to stick with me at all.  I think if I were to enjoy one it'd have to be a comedy first before it was a sports anime.  With the Irregular anime that makes it easier to watch for me is that you have to realize that Tatsuya really doesn't have any feelings for anything, so the only way he can remotely express happiness is through his relationship with his sister.  Fortunately Tatsuya doesn't really have a harem since they do pair pretty much everyone off, and while Miyuki will probably never find anyone later on (although, would be huge character development if she did), it also does not appear that her relationship with Tatsuya will really progress any further than it already is (as it didn't for the entire season).

  3. Thanks for the link @Beocat!

Planning on getting Penguindrum 1 & 2, Shigofumi, and Someday's Dreamers.  Normally costing a whole 239.92, but getting it all for 51.96! :D

I would have gotten a lot of other stuff, but a lot of shows were available on Crunchyroll, so only decided to pick up shows I couldn't watch normally.

  4. Romance is completely fine with me as long as that is not the only thing going on in the story.  Basically anything but Romance + SoL I will probably find enjoyable (kinda why I like the first season of Clannad over the second).  As for harems, they are usually just annoying to watch in general.  Just having one increases the chances of blander characters, cringeworthy cookie cuttered events, and the MC not picking the character you want them to, or just not picking one at all.  Not to say all harems are bad, just seems to be a running trend is all.  Lastly, blood related incest in anime will probably turn me off to the point where I actively choose not to watch such shows.  The Irregular at Magic High School is probably the closest I'll go in that regard where the romance isn't really taken anywhere in that relationship.

  5. I really see Discord as an improved group chat in Skype rather than a replacement for forums.  The two can coexist just fine since they really provide two different types of communication as other people have already pointed out.  I've never been a fan of real time communication online with multiple people at once though, so I've only tried it once and wasn't really surprised that it really wasn't for me.

  6. I've done all of the above.  I used to download a lot overnight due to bad internet connection at my parents' house and was still in school so didn't really have the money otherwise.  Later into college I was much more into collecting blu-rays rather than streaming since I had the money then and parents' internet still was ok at best.  After I graduated and moved out on my own, I've solely used my Crunchyroll premium account now that I've got good internet and a TV of my own to work with as well (streaming via the PS4).  Can't really see myself going back to anything else.  For some reason, was always a bit slow in watching blu-rays vs steamed anime, and I really don't have enough time to watch more anime than what Crunchyroll provides anyway.  And yeah, I even fall into the last option at times due to manga usually being better imo.

  7. I didn't really exercise at all until recently twice a week I'll go out to the gym after work with a coworker (11pm).  There usually might be 1 or 2 people there, but they leave by the time we're done.  Only goals I really have by doing that is keeping up the relationship (since I just got a new job recently), and just making sure my body doesn't feel like its dragging me down (not really worried about getting super fit or anything).

Because we kind of legally have to complain about it, we're now going to talk about WIXOSS. Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS is bad. Lostorage as a whole is bad. How did something as good as Selector Infected/Spread WIXOSS get that bad? There have been so many asspulls and completely nonsensical things, and even complete contradictions. The villain has shown off incredible powers, and then proceeded to never use them again, about half of the characters have done literally nothing of significance at all, and they sent a random girl in against the final boss instead of the canonically strongest person in the anime, who already has a stake in the matter because her friend was effectively imprisoned by the boss. We still watched it though, because it's WIXOSS. If any ofyou are interested in the series, definitely watch Selector, but don't touch anything named Lostorage with a 10 ft. bargepole.

Yeah, I ended up dropping Lostorage during episode 1.  Really just couldn't get into it like Selector.  Although thinking about it, never did actually finish watching season 2 of Selector for some reason.

Back to the good sides, SAO Alternative is miles better than SAO. LLENN is so much better than Kirito.

    Yep, completely agree there.

Although, to be honest, M and Pito going crazy was what was starting to bring the show down for me.  Fortunately, they haven't had too much screen time since.

  9. If you've been keeping up with this season, what were your thoughts on the season as a whole?  Did you find many favorites, or was the season kinda bland?

For me, I'd have to say that Steins;Gate 0 and SAO Alternative really overshadowed a lot of the other shows, so I didn't really give them much of a chance.  SAO Alternative is alright, but Steins;Gate 0 really did well in living up to the first season imo.  Overall, kinda looking forward to this season being over and seeing what next season has to offer.

  10. Played The Fruit of Grisaia after like owning it for forever since I was one of the original kickstarter backers for the translation for it.  Only received the last 3 physical copies (The Labyrinth of Grisaia, The Eden of Grisaia, and Chiru Chiru Michiru) for it all at once recently which was what I was waiting for before starting it.  Overall, pretty good so far, seems like my interest in non fantasy VNs isn't really there right now (and might not come back), so probably not as good as I thought it would be 4 years ago.

  11. Definitely sub due to usually better quality VAs, as well as some really serious lines just sound really terrible in English.  I don't usually actively read subs.  Over the time I've watched anime, my mind just kind of acknowledges it's there, while focusing more on the visuals, and can get 99% of what they are saying.  If I'm really tired though, I'll have to go back to reading them.  Not to mention, dubs just aren't as available as subs are, and you have to wait a lot longer for them most of the time.

  12. Don't really get that hyped up for E3 like other people do.  Need Pokemon 2019, Fire Emblem, and perhaps Rune Factory 5 to all get on Switch so I have a reason to get one (perhaps some might be there tomorrow, but we'll see).  Otherwise, everything I was looking forward to for the PS4 has already been released and haven't had time to play yet, or coming out rather soon and wasn't going to be at E3 anyway.

I love both of yall for suggesting but I have played those :(

My favorite strategy game hands down has to be Endless Legends, it got good art and nice play styles. The Endless series is over all a nice series of games and I recommend everyone to try it out!

Hm... Rondo of Swords DS is pretty obscure tactical game that was really enjoyable.  You've probably already played fire emblem (radiant series was really good).  If you're fine with a tactical experience that is more VN with battles every now and then, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception/Truth PS4 is really good.  That's all I can remember for now, hope there is at least one game in there that helps xP

Those are great! BTW have you tried Bad Apple? I have a feeling you'll like it.

Glad you like them :)  And yeah, if its a touhou song, I've already heard it too many times to count xP

  15. Going back through all my saved Nightcore was rather nostalgic (since touhou eurobeat is my main choice of music now)  Found a few of my favorites though.  Tad surprised that none of these have been posted yet.

  16. Mine was likely Pokemon Adventures.  Does the series way more justice than the show or even the games ever have.

I remember hating reading even just reading subs, then I came across the manga called Denpa Kyoushi. Loved this manga, this manga got me starting to read manga in general.

Now there is a manga that brings up memories as well.  Really good manga, just stopped following it due to slow release schedule.

  17. Good:

    • An hour away from the US capital.  Have been there several times.  It's pretty nice for a day trip.
    • People are generally nice if I don't go south or east.

    Bad:

    • Really expensive living (most of my coworkers pay 1k+/month on rent)
    • Not many jobs that compensate well enough for the cost of living.
    • People are really arrogant/aloof around the area of where I work and the closer you get to the capital.
