  1. Does anyone know how to install linux on a pc without a boot selector installed?, for some reason mine doesnt have one

Yes, but it would require advanced partitioning. The only partition you need is /. Optional partitions include /swap and /home. Then, if it asks where to boot from, click the / partition. For any further info, I would need to know what distro you're installing, as installers are sometimes different across distros. Also, if you don't have Windows on your PC, you will probably want GRUB (boot selector) though.

  2. This episode had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. To be honest, while he did change time, I was half expecting him to get kidnapped instead. Also, its quite obvious Kayo has fallen for him, but he thinks nothing but saving her. It will be interesting to see if there is some kind of time skip at the very end of the show having the two married or something. This is not only easily the anime of the season for me, but will probably end up being one of my favorites of all time.

  3. Seems fun, I was bored the other day while on the way of a trip, and I came up with a short story, not really interesting though.

Though drill, can you give me character limits instead? I don't know what you mean by 3-5 pages tbh, and well it's not that I'm planning to write that long, but just incase, because when I write something, I usually overdo it xD.

Alright, glad to see you interested in participating!

As for character limits, lets change it too keeping it below 1000 words.

  4. I know Java (and CSS, not really a programming language, I know), and thats it really. :P I can read quite a few other programming languages though, just can't write in them.

For Java, I will be using jGrasp www.jgrasp.org

Please spare yourself. Unless you have to use JGrasp as it might be required for your class, I highly recommend NetBeans or even Eclipse over JGrasp.

  5. Seems like a decent website for learning about the linux terminal after looking at it a bit. Although, I will admit, there are very few major Linux OSs where you would ever have to even consider using the terminal besides for specific updates. Even non major Linux distros are usually just using KDE or Gnome with some kind of spinoff of Ubuntu or Fedora. Although, copy and move commands are helpful in certain scenarios. For example, lets say I have a folder with several sub folders containing .jpgs and .pngs. Using the copy or move command, I could select all of the .jpgs easily and move them, which would be quite a pain if I had to use the GUI.

  6. Welcome to AF, Gess! Hope you enjoy your stay :)

Do you read any manga as well? If so, what are your favorites?

Also, I highly approve of your avatar and signature ;)

  7. Why isn't there a 'laugh so hard until you choke and fall off the bed/chair/couch' option? xD

I second this. My brother is constantly annoyed when I watch comedy anime because of how much (and how loud) I laugh. xP

Besides comedy anime though, I really can't say I make any noise though, and unless its something I really like, its just taking away my boredom at best.

Sakura Chiyo confesses to her crush, Nozaki-kun, but he mistakes her as a fan! Unable to convey her feelings, what happens when he invites her to his house? Find out in this hilarious series!

While the anime version for this was pretty good, I can't help but think that this is just one of those stories that just fits better in manga form as it has more charm and is a bit funnnier than its adaption as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good comedy manga, even if you've already watched the anime.

Kazama Kenji likes to believe he is something of a delinquent. Moreover, others seem to like to agree that he is. Of course, Kenji's gang finds their way to a group of four not-so-normal girls—Chitose, Sakura, Minami and Roka—and all at once, whatever reputation he may have is nothing compared to the outrageous behavior of the girls. Shanghaied into joining their club, what will happen to his everday life from that point on?

So, I really tried to like this manga, I really did, but while the premise seems interesting enough to keep me engaged, I might have laughed once during the first volume, so I guess its just not my kind of comedy.

  10. Episode 3 was pretty good. I thought it was interesting to learn that Kayo was the only one who could tell he was lying about the race. I'm looking forward to seeing what was happening during the ending scene next episode.

am I the only one who thought he looks kinda like Guren from OnS? xD

No, I thought that as well. xP Although, I do like this teacher much better than Guren though.

  11. Watch episodes 8 and 9, and I promise that every problem you've had with season 3 so far...and maybe make you feel some things you weren't expecting to feel.

OMG! You're right! Episodes 8 and 9 really were amazing. It also makes Pyrrha and Jaune that much more of my favorite ship. Also, we got to see that while Ruby does lack fighting ability, she makes up in speed, as she was able to escape Mercury in their scuffle. And last but not least, Torchwick is finally back. :) Assuming they wrap it up well, season 3 may very well be my favorite season.

  12. Very good episode 2. Lisha getting jealous over Phi was funny and how she tried to take Lux on a date to a fancy dinner and forgot her wallet. xD

I aslo enjoyed Lux's back story. I'm not convinced Lux did all the killing though because his older brother had a black sword as well and he is shown to have the thirst for blood. If Lux is the destroyer of the old kingdom his brother pushed him into it somehow. I look forward to seeing them two face off later in the series. I just hope Lux doesn't use bahamut too much because I kind of hate an OP main character.

I have a feeling he probably won't use it that often, probably because of some backlash or something, as he was extremely hesitant to use it any time up to this point. Even when he was fighting one of those monsters that outclassed his normal mech.

  13. Decently enjoyable episode. Still, Lux x Lisha seems like the best pairing even with other characters like Phi introduced. Hopefully he actually ends up with her instead of it becoming a harem (which it can become, it just can't end that way).

It was really surprising that Lux was the guy who defeated all the other drag knights during the coup.

I think this is still up for speculation, as his older brother was seen carrying the black sword once as well. If thats the case, I would find it so much cooler if his older brother was actually the one behind the end of the old kingdom. That way, Lux would be at a disadvantage probably if he ever had to fight him later on in the show. Unfortunetly, you're probably right that Lux was the one to end the old kingdom which seems less interesting plot wise to me.

I wanted to kill that one guy for placing the brand on Lisha....it made me so mad!

I thought he was the one Lux killed... maybe not. :P

  14. Such a good movie. And yes, I agree, they should make some kind of sequel. Perhaps with one where Dual and Dorthy have apprentices that they have to train or something? Anyway, the ending was quite sad, but was quite fulfilling as well.

I loved how they clashed just like two anti-virus programs actually do!

    So true... xP

Also, favorite character goes to Dual. Strange how I correctly predicted that.

  15. How is Opening utorrent, directing the file to a specific folder, then waiting 5 minutes to download, easier then clicking on the bookmarks, browsing what's been recently released, then watching it.

    1) I have it set to auto download into a specific folder

    2) With my internet speed, its more like 30 seconds.

    3) The extension keeps track of what I've watched this season, and keeps me updated in an extension with a notification icon telling me how many I have yet to watch. This is really helpful, as I have 10+ currently airing anime I watch every season.

But even if you set up an RSS or something along those lines, to make stuff more convenient, and eliminating the wait time. Setting up an RSS is a pain by itself, and something that could be easily achieved through just briefly browsing the new releases.

Yes, RSS is a pain, don't use it. :P

Also, "anime release notifier" seems pretty great. But I can't get it to work.

Anime Release Notifier is great, what part are you stuck at? Maybe I can help?

First you need to sign in here with a Google or Facebook account:

    https://notify.moe

Go to the settings page of your account on that site, and make sure you enter stuff like your username to MAL, Anilist, etc in the specified fields after creating an account. Also, make your username if that isn't auto entered already.

Then install the extension and go to the options page of the extension.

From there, just enter your username that you just made for the site, and type it in there. The extension will then grab your information from your currently watching list, and notify you of when new episodes are out.

    I hope that helped.

  16. I never really understood buying blueray copies.

Realistically, there more of an novelty item then anything. You can easily get the blue-ray quality through torrents and streaming.

and yeah, I understand that you don't buy bluerays for it's practicality, but for supporting an the industry, which is fine.

But they look like there produced from a here in america. You do know that buying direct Japanese blue-rays support the industry a lot more then buying an american one.

That's why if my life depended on spending 200 dollars on anime merch, I would just buy a figuring produced in Japan. At least they look pretty on a shelf for 2 seconds that I glance at it every month or so.

Yeah, you're right, it is pretty much a novelty item, as I don't really have anything else I even want to collect, so I figured I would collect some of my favorite shows in physical form when I decide to rewatch them. Also, region locking is a real pain, so I'll always be going for the region 1/A release.

  17. While I do download, I'm not really against streaming. Although, since the Anime Release Notifier extension came back for chrome, and they only support downloading as of now, its much easier for me to just download. Although, I will stream a show if its old and there aren't any seeders for it.
