Is there such a thing? I left the UK equivalent of high school 50 years ago and while I did have some good times I didn't have a fun school life. I tend to agree with the Douglas Adams quote from The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy; "The hours were good, but most of the individual minutes were pretty bad"

High school only lasts four or so years, it'll seem like a long time now, so hang on in there it'll soon be over then you'll be out in the world and hopefully working in a job you'll enjoy doing.

Hang in there. After you put on your graduation cap you'll never have to see this abomination again unless you choose to show up for a class reunion. Here's some additional suggested videos to help you understand what is actually going on and why it sucks.

I know how that is. lol I'm not sure if they still sell these, but caffeine pills do actually work for a while if you want to try those out sometime. Even those 5 hour energy drinks give quite a wake-up boost for any emergencies you might have down the line. Today though, just might have to grind tough and try to keep your eyes open as hard as possible.

After that I need to go to his home to clean everything up with my parents so I think it’s one of the reason I don’t want to go

Very understandable, but you might get some closure if you do go.

I understand how you feel. Funerals are never easy things to go to, especially those of family members. I didn't go to my grandfather's funeral and I regretted it later on.

Ah, memories of the dreaded Friday afternoon PE class and the Cross Country Run through the local park. It wasn't 3km but it was a long way and parts of it were more like an obstacle course with several fallen trees and a couple of broken bridges over a small stream to overcome.

That is quite an assemblage of characters used in the montage footage.

It's not like kids actually learn anything that's useful in school...save for maybe Home Ec and Shop. I guess Advanced Algebra ( I & II ) has its uses if you're planning to go into literal Rocket Science or Engineering.

I know this isn't really the place for this but, author and former educator John Taylor Gatto's main thesis asserts that school does the following to children in his book, "Dumbing Us Down":

1. It confuses the students. It presents an incoherent ensemble of information that the child needs to memorize to stay in school. Apart from the tests and trials, this programming is similar to the television; it fills almost all the "free" time of children. One sees and hears something, only to forget it again.
2. It teaches them to accept their class affiliation.
3. It makes them indifferent.
4. It makes them emotionally dependent.
5. It makes them intellectually dependent.
6. It teaches them a kind of self-confidence that requires constant confirmation by experts ( provisional self-esteem ).
7. It makes it clear to them that they cannot hide, because they are always supervised.

He also draws a contrast between communities and "networks", with the former being healthy, and schools being examples of the latter. He says networks have become an unhealthy substitute for community in the United States.
