10- I would suggest this to every anime lover or newbie and probably won’t ever stop talking about it. Highly recommended.
9- Everyone interested in this genre should watch this show. Excellent characters, plot, and production. Highly recommended.
8- This had good characters and plot, but some parts could be improved. Recommended.
7- This had decent characters or plot, but lacked quality in development and execution. Recommended for mindless entertainment.
6- If you’re bored with extra time with no other show to watch, you could maybe watch this.
5- This had one potentially good part or character, but overall pretty awful. Would not recommend.
4- I only finished it because I wanted to know what happened in the end; don't watch this.
3- I managed to get through the story, but it was a waste of my time.
2- I watched the a few episodes and deeply regretted it.
1- I couldn’t even make it through the first episode.
You know I like that, it pretty close to how I view things. Your point on eight almost mirrors what I feel about all might eight out of tens, very good but room for improvement but still something I'd easily recommend. Not sure how I rank 7, I don't necessarily see 7 as mindless entertainment because I put the original EVA series as a seven and that show isn't mindless.
I think for how I define a 7 is that the show is lacking something, that might be direction, pacing. But it still a good show. 5 is my average, so 6 is above average and 4 below average. I try to steer clear of anime that more likely going to irk me into throwing it down into 5 territory. As a result the bottom of my list and how I define 'bad anime' is pretty hard. I suppose it going on instinct - I hated MD Geist and gave that a 3, but Kokoro Connect was somthing I couldn't even sit threw so easy 2.
As for my top scores, I don't really worry if something needs to be accessible to newbies or the elites holy grail on Anime it just, if I consider it a masterpiece and constantly find myself reflecting on the show its got to be a 10 out of 10. I often see my 10 out of 10s there for as very subjective and they could easily find themselves as 9 or 8's in someone else's list.
For example my top show Monster isn't something I'm gonna recommend a newbie who might have only watched Pokémon because that just impossible to expect. But it's still a masterpiece in my opinion.

Also I'll repost my anime list, cause it probably buried somewhere in this thread and I haven't link it to my posts because I have no idea how

I watched an anime called "in another world with my smartphone" and my god, was it awful. It starts out like many isekai where the ML dies (accidentally by god's hand) and gets reincarnated into a magical world with OP stats. God grants him one request and he asks to keep his smartphone. It's fun at first because he's teaching people all sorts of new things, but it quickly turns harem with no more focus on adventure and learning new skills and no more conflicts. Everything is handed to him on a silver spoon and eventually, god basically tells him that "monogamy isn't common here, so have your way with all of them!" and he gains like 5 wives. No plot, zero character development, and incredibly unnecessary cat fight scenes over some lame dude who can't make up his mind. I did finish it, but regretted literally every moment from the start.
An unholy combination of Iseaki and Harem.

has anyone got any anime recommendations action/thriller ?
Welcome to the forums. I've only been into anime for about over a year. However luckily in this case nearly all the shows I watch fall into either action, thriller or psychological (and space opera) so I have some recommendations for once.
Action/thriller anime recommendations would be Psycho Pass season 1, Steins Gate (a little lacking in action), Monster (another brilliant thriller but again not much action) and Fate Zero.

seriously I didn't see any problem with the syncing. this is a really good job
. the only problem I had was that between 6:40 and 6:49 there where multiple voices stacking up on each other making it less understandable.
6:40 to 6:49 takes place during that very weird montage sequence. In the subbed version you can find online it ends with a similar cacophony of Japanese voice overs and massive walls of subs. Not kidding. Sadly when it came to making prototype, the direction for it was to be like a trailer for a potential what if series. So that sequence plays out to show off the different character motivations and plot beats of the story. It not the greatest.
I've only slightly altered the opening, bringing the images at the start more in line with the music beats. But thanks for the feedback @Soramee_, if the guys who did this dub originally still have there original non-edited takes it would make editing this a lot easier. And might even make the changes you suggested possible. However I'd imagine the team behind this fan dub has long since disbanded.

You're watching an anime and a moment occurs, something that you personally think is super cool and awesome. For me it anytime the opening or ending song is referenced in the show; in Ergo Proxy one of the episodes begins with the main character having to guess the opening in a quiz, the other time I can remember this happening is when in Madoka Magica an instrumental version of the song plays during there time at an arcada and again in Rebellion, Madoka Magica Side Story also did it with the opening song playing on the radio in one of the episodes and more recently when I watched Paranoia Agent in the episode Mellow Maromi when it begins to play on the Radio in the car.
Those are just some of the instances I can remember it happening in Anime I've watched and there always some of my favourite moments. I have no idea why, but like Cold Opens I just think it really good for some reason. But what are some of you're guys favourite moments in anime.

Here it is, the dub was by a group called Dubsquad and I think the original edit was done by a group called Vulagr Daikaiju Productions. So this is my re-edit, if you see any mistakes let me know and I'll attempt to fix any errors.

You are doing fan dub
! That's so cool
I didn't make the Dan dub, I found it on internet archive. However the quality of the video up on there left as a lot to be desired.
For a time I didn't think I could fix it as the only uploaded prototype video's on YouTube were full of locked subtitles. However I then found a clean version with no subtitles.
At that point it was just a matter of editing the fan dub and the animation together. I made some improvements, tinkered with a couple scenes. Luckily the dub was mostly in sync.
I'll upload it later today, gonna give it one last check to look out for errors.

No problem. The font they used is a little big, but you could just copy and past into a Google Doc and adjust it to preference if it's an issue.
I sort of wonder how there direct translations and my clumsy efforts at bashing audio drama translations, anime dub lines, the opening panels from a manga and pure inventions differ.
Also I finally finished the edit for the fate Prototype fan dub. That took way longer than it needed too.
Funny enough the dub grew on me in the end. At first I thought it was a little cringe but emeshing myself in editing that fan dub now as me appreciating how the guy who voiced Arthur said the line 'saber'.

@Mr.CopySmile22 welcome to the forums, everyone on here's pretty friendly so you shouldn't have a problem fitting in

Cool, yeah hopefully it reads well. I only read it once after completion so yet me know if you stumble on any mistakes.
After reading Garden of Avalon it's cool to see how it ties Fate Stay Night and Fate Grand Order. I won't ruin how.

Monster, Fate Zero (I love all Fate, but Zero is undisputedly the best anime of the lot), Legend of the Galactic Heroes The New Thesis, Psycho Pass, Berserk, Steins Gate, Wolfs Rain, Ergo Proxy, Madoka Magica Rebellion (I liked the series too) and Made in the Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul (Bondrewd was a great dad).

I've search for an English translation of garden of Avalon and I couldn't find one. I don't understand how you did this but this is impressive
. I don't know what to say
. I would never been able to do something like that.
Yeah, I started a few months ago. Got frustrated and stopped, then I came back at it and well eventually a few days later I finished the book. I think most the chapters I had to use the audiobook to get the dialogue, and the expository 'thoughts' I used to structure the text. Some chapters had been thankfully completed due to other's efforts, but a lot were missing. This is by no ways the complete text, and certainly I was forced to make liberties, but I tried to stay true to the source wherever such liberties were taken.
But I'll upload a copy for you to download, if It works.

If You are interested there is a prequel name fate/prototype Fragments of Sky Silver and a side story call fate/labyrinth
Yeah, I've seen those online but I can never trace English versions for the life of me. I complied a version of Garden of Avalon (pretty sure it was complete) and it took weeks of going all over the place from Steam Posts, random Light Novel translation sites and using a transcript from a audio book and bashing that with scenes form the Apocrypha and Fate Stay Night anime. The Frankenstein I ended up creating was surprisingly alright.
Also I finished the OVA with English dub and ended up finding a better quality version of the OVA, so it now looking crisp at 1080p.

but doubt I’ll spend much time on it since I have less tolerance for harem series than I did in my youth & I personally find the shameless pervert trope more annoying than the cluelessly dense one as far as MCs go.
Yeah, I not been able to get into Harem anime. I just find it too weird. At the end of the day I only need one Waifu and that is Saber-chan

Yeah see I didn't know that

I must be showing my youth... what's Urusei Yatsura?

You watched Kokoro Connect too? And also thought it was terrible. I'm not alone. Also good scores, on the anime you've watched so far.

I stumbled on a Fate OVA a few months back called Fate Prototype, it was only subbed and I never got round to watching it. A bit later I found a fan dub on an internet achieve - issue was the quality was messed up must have been 360p or lower, so again I didn't watch it. A while after that, won Arthur Pendragon on Fate Grand Order with a very lucky roll, and today found a clean version of the anime - 720p up on Youtube and decided to bash together a nicer looking 'dub'.
The story whilst rushed was pretty interesting and got me thinking if it be cool if they made a full adaptation of it. Hell I'd settle for a 12 episode short series. It likely won't happen, as I bet the future of Fate adaptations are Fate Cosmos Babylonia and possible (here's hoping) a Fate: Fake Strange and possible Fate Hollowed Ataraxia however I still think a Prototype anime would be pretty cool.

I'd always like to see a Fate Prototype fan dub, there one on internet achieve but the quality shot to hell and it breaks the plotting of scenes of the OVA. So that be cool. One benefit is it's only twelfth minutes long, so it not an horrendous herculean effort for a group of people to commit two. However there are quite a few characters, so that might be a problem.

I would not go so far as to say stupid. There was a point to it after all. But it was unnecessary to take it to such an extreme for story purposes IMHO. I didn't used to binge-watch so much. Back then I had more of a weekly realtime habit and happened to be watching the anime every week as it came out. Let me tell you, well before the last episode of that arc came out I was looking for the slightest hint that the next week was going to be different, for any small differences that could be leveraged to break out of the cycle. Which was probably the point. It was novel, meta, totally in context, and even fun in a way. By the end of the arc the viewers are definitely in sync with the characters, deja-vu and all. But I swear, if any anime ever tries that again I'm going to drop it for certain.
That's what I meant sorry, it wasn't that the arch was necassarily bad rather the execution the studio leadership choose was somthing most members of the cast and the production took fault with.
I've only watched videos documenting the event, in those Doc's they give a good overview of the at time feeling of anime fans across various platforms; 4Chan and My Anime List are the most common were these comments came from.
The amount of comments of anime fans losing there shit over Endless Eight was funny. Some of the comments are gold.

So another year has come & gone
I’m curious to what other members think of this past year’s anime. Highlights? Low points? Overall trends?
Overall trends: production delays, recap episodes, shorter seasons, split cours
To be honest, I don't entirely know if I have yet to see something from the year just gone... however I did here about a few of the issues in the wider industry due to remote working which caused production delays, some recap episodes and overall shorter seasons. Which is similar to Film or Gaming in that respect, all Media got royally screwed up due to Covid. However it's interesting to see which have been able to recover, some advance in terms of revenue and which have fallen on there face.
And example of that would be Manga vs Comics. Manga despite Covid sticking global shipping seemed to actually thrive this year. Comics didn't. I attribute that more due to the pre-standing issues in that industry before Covid than Covid being the reason for its downfall. The pandemics didn't help but pedalling shit before, during and after lockdowns didn't help. Online stores such as Steam actually saw an uptick in revenue so I bet Anime streaming services likely also saw a boom due to lots of people stuck in there homes - which makes sense.
A personal anecdote is that before the pandemic I had never discussed anime to anyone besides my brother and one other friend (the other friend briefly) and then after the pandemic (after I'd got more invested in the medium due to all the time I had on my hands) more people in general nerd culture were interested in anime and manga all of a sudden.

Anime Database Request
in Anime Discussion
Posted · Edited by MediaConsumesMe
Was a Jiff not a Jpeg
When I finished Blue Gender I looked for it in the database, it wasn't there which isn't surprising as it pretty obscure as mecha-anime go.
Also I checked the 'C' letter and Code Geass was missing...
So I compel you to add Code Geass... with a polite suggestion if it isn't too much of a bother.
