So what anime are you watching at the moment? For me it's Psycho-Pass. I'm loving it so much! It's a Sci-Fi detective thriller but It's quite deep, alongside the depth and action of Ghost in the Shell. And Shakespeare, lots of references to English literature! How about you?

Hey so I want to have an open conversation about something I think people maybe overlook or try not to think to heavily about, which is what I did for a long time but recently I can’t anymore it’s like my mind unlocked info and now I can’t turn it off. We all know anime has a lot of fan service right? Well usually I can ignore it cause it’s usually just a high-school girl with big boobs and her panties are showing, stereotypical. I’m talking about the other issue. The sexualization of very young girls and or young looking girls. For example, I’m scrolling on a website to read a manga and I come across one with a girl in elementary school flashing her panties and I’m like what is this? I just ignore it but I do want to ask how is it so widely accepted? I know most people see it and go oh god but we also like don’t riot or try and take it down. It’s considered freedom of expression or the argument is “the author isn’t a pedo he likes anime lolis”. It got me to thinking though when manga artists who do draw sexualized anime girls( specifically very young ones) are they using a reference in their head? Do they have a reference of a real life little girl and use her to draw, or is it more they use reference of a made up adult but just makes them smaller in their head, or do they use other loli characters as reference so on and so fourth or do they make up the anime girl completely without any reference whether real or fake. I just couldn’t get it out of my head if they’re using real children as reference to draw whether they use fotos of images in their head of real kids they’ve seen. Even big time anime’s or mangakas will draw young girls flashing their non existent cleavage or showing panties, one good example is Shirō from no game no life. she’s literally 11 but so sexualized. It’s so prevalent in other shows and mangas and they tend to be created by men as well. I love anime and manga, I really do, but I just wanted to get opinions from other people who see this happening as well, how do you cope? Or are you also not coping well. Do you have any more knowledge and insight from artists who do draw loli characters? Are they not using real kids and reference. The problem here to is there will be artists who are creeps and do use real children, I guess I’m talking about the majority of the community that draws that kind of stuff, what do they use as reference if any. Thank you for listening to me ramble, I just feel like this is an important topic and want to talk to other people who either feel the same way I do or who have different opinions or thoughts. :)

Theres this anime similar to I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too (i think its similar) where theres a building on fire and he saves his friends from the building by surround himself with magic or water magic i think. woof~, so the above images are wanted individuals take two woof~, so i ask the question~ which familiar would you rather have, and would rather take care of, spend time with, and have an overall enjoying/fun time with, if you could pick one of the three types of animal's ? anime comes in all kinds of shapes and forms with different genres, music and, of course, art! so what are some of your favourite anime artstyles? being an artist myself, whenever i watch something i can't help but admire the different styles and artistic aspects, so i definitely have to few. the first being... violet evergarden! an amazing show with a stunning artstyle. every scene is gorgeous <33 next we have bubble! there are some absolutely breathtaking scenes in this anime that never fail to deliver next up, we have a more generic (but equally as amazing) one. heaven official's blessing ^^ i don't know what it is about this artstyle, but i find it very satisfying. also the art in the opening and closing??? HELLO????? this time, a very different approach to the anime style. panty and stocking! it's a very unique style that stands out, and i love it with its vibrant colours and bold shapes and how could i forget the studio ghibli artstyle??? it's iconic and beautiful (not to mention the food! it always looks delicious ) and finally, we have danganronpa. while i will admit it doesn't have the prettiest style, danganronpa has been one of my favourite franchises for years now, and it's had a big impact on many aspects of my life, including my own artstyle for a long time! it's iconic, and one i hold dearly to my heart <33 but yeah, this isn't even the tip of the iceberg! some honourable mentions are: neon genesis evangelion, toilet bound hanako kun, kotaro live alone and many more ^^

I’m personally a huge fan of doctor who, a British sci-fi show about time travel. Cheesy? Yes. Melodramatic? A bit, yes. Amazing? Obviously!!!!

I'm basically up for any genre when it comes to any one season anime or anime movies any of you could recommend I try to purchase for my upcoming birthday? I'm more wanting a one season anime series or anime movie with adventure, fantasy, scifi, action, martial arts, psychological, cyberpunk, supernatural, and the ones that have a strong female lead protagonist which involves battles and adventures. I'm not familiar with the actual names of the genres of anime yet because I've never looked them up, but if y'all know the types of anime I'm talking about I could really use some recommendations based on those criteria to try to find anime I could get on my birthday next month. ^^

I know I am well LATE to this forum, but had to voice my opinions. I feel like the TYPE of each is important, for example there are many cat-girls whom I wouldn't pick over a fox-girl any day of the week, however Omamori Himari's female lead Himari is a Bakeneko (Monster/Demon Cat) and is absolutely stunning with her samurai-style servitude and yet still extremely seductive towards her master with just the right amount of Nyaa~'s. Meanwhile my preferred type of Fox-Girl only has so very few animated characters whom I would actually go for; Tenko Kuugen, Konohana-Tei girls, Hagoromo Gitsune, to name some of the few, as opposed to the plethora of animated cat-girls. I do however love many Fox-Girls who appear in various un-animated manga such as Yuki from Tamayura Kitsune, who is a fox granted human form by the god whom she serves as a shrine-maiden (Fox-Girls make the best shrine maidens). Honestly have very little interest in Dog-Girls, of course if you count wolves then Holo the Wise Wolf (Spice and Wolf) is hands down the greatest animal eared girl in history (first animal eared waifu), though her appearance and actions are so fox-like that it irritates me that she is said to be a wolf. However there is one dog-girl I have found in the past year of two that has been deemed waifu material and that is Wereanna from Kamitachi Ni Hirowareta Otoko (at least the manga) as she is fiercely loyal and beautiful, of course her wolf-like feeling helps earn her points. Similarly there are many Sub-Categories such as cats > big cat - girls, such as tiger girls or what have you that have a strong appeal. In the end it really comes down to individual characters traits for me, but I do admittedly lean towards Fox-Girls (Kitsune), the only outliers that could convince me otherwise are samurai cat-girl Himari and Wise Wolf-girl Holo. (Unsurprisingly all of my favourite of each are yokai/demons/spirits, which is where I spent my early anime days)

I've managed to finish binge watching all three series of Classroom of the Elite. When I first heard of this series back in 2017 or 18 I watched a couple of trailers and read a review or two and thought "pass, not interested". Then when series 3 came out this year and started generating a lot of interest on the Facebook anime pages I thought it might be worth a watch. So was it worth the watch? Short answer: perhaps! For a high school Slice of Life style anime it's nothing like any I'd seen before, I don't think any school has ever had such a high percentage of anti-social, stuck-up, pompous, nasty, scheming, sadistic and downright evil students. Then there's the school itself which has some strange rules and seems to be determined to set-up it's students for expulsion. I must admit that in the first two series the machinations of the various class factions to gain victory over each other in the weird tests the school set were interesting. However in the third series the seemingly endless 'special exams' the school kept setting were becoming a bit tedious and even verging on "monster of the week" territory. Overall: I found it an intriguing and different storyline with some interesting characters and interesting interactions between them. I can't say that I enjoyed watching the series, but I'm glad I did. Would I watch it again? Probably not, would I watch series 4 if/when it comes out? Maybe.

A few weeks back i saw an anime edit of a really crisp, high quality fighting anime and thought to find it. i had decided to wait to find it and i can no longer find that video. The comments of the video had said it was a short, maybe 5-6 episode fighting anime. All i remember from the edit is a 2v1 fight where the characters were being flung around, in a generally open space. Help finding this anime would be greatly appreciated.

I read a lot of books by Daniel Silva, he's my favorite Author and kind of the only books that keep my interest recently. I also read a few by Jeff Long here and there. These are mostly spy/mystery books or end of the world type books. When I'm not reading those I read a lot of books about World War II because I've always been really interested in that part of history.
