They can be really genki or cute! I nominate Yayoi Takatsuki from The Idolm@ster. (she's the top right for those unfamiliar with the series) Though Miki Hoshii is my most favourite, Yayoi always had that really genki attitude! In a more recent series, I've found Nadeshiko Kagamihara from Yuru Camp also has that infectious smile. And Nepgear from Hyperdimension Neptunia... but I won't get started on that. What about you?

Hey all, so every now and then, I come across a song that just strikes a chord with me and an anime. Sometimes, it's with a 'ship' (you know, an anime relationship between two characters that I want to happen but might not ever see in the anime) and sometimes it just reflects the anime to me. The latest one that has grabbed me is Yours by Russell Dickerson. To me, I can totally see it as a "ship-song" between Ichinose Tokiya and Haruka in Uta no Prince-sama (my personal favorite pairing ~whimsical sigh~). Anyone else have a song that has reminded them of an anime or ship recently?

Hello, So I have to write a song for a musical and for my musical I decided to adapt The Ancient Magus Bride. I was wondering what scene should I use as a base for the song. I can't use any already written melody in the show i.e. the main theme, background music, lindels song. Hi there ^^ I thought I would just introduce myself so you can get an idea of who's actually behind the screen :3 So yeah, I'm a 17-years-old boy and I'm from the small country of Denmark. I find myself on here because I'm basically looking for a forum where I can talk about anime and other things, and hopefully make some new friends ^^. I like to play music. I play guitar, ukulele, piano, violin and the bass. I also really love to draw and to write stuff. And now to the anime part of my introduction, I love watching anime, and my current favorites are Another, True Tears, Corpse Party, Elfen Lied and Yuri on Ice. What can I say, I like myself some good yaoi, romance or gore :3 I've watched anime for about 4 years now, and I have been to 3 cons in my life (last one being in november of 2017). Oh yeah, I also really like pastel aesthetics (Which probably shows by my profile pic). I am very shy irl, which is why I find myself turning to the internet to find and talk to new people (Also there isn't a lot of people in my town who watch anime, so it isn't something I can really talk about with people around me irl) But yeah, as I said, I like talking to new people so hmu if you want someone new to chat with ^^ I look forward to my time on this site/forum, and from the posts I've seen before joining, you all seem extremely kind, so I'm looking forward to talking and discussing stuff with you guys as well. ヾ(＾∇＾)

Anyone listen to chillpop or lofi music? The genre is like becoming sysnoums with anime...at least if you check Youtube. The thumbnails and gifs all over chillpop and lofi music, and more so much of the music contains quotes and scenes from anime. I love the genre! For me it started with Nujabes thanks to Samurai Champloo, but then I discovered more ambient music like Tycho and somewhere along the line I discovered other chillpop and lofi music. If you have want to listen to some, let me know I'll send you some good ones from YouTube. Also, if you have anything good to recommend please do so!

I just started drawing manga/anime characters a little while ago. It was a lot of fun to draw! I really like the love live series original and sunshine. I love to ship yuri couples so ya. Hope you enjoy. Tell me what else I should draw. .

So this one day when I was laying down in my bed, daydreaming, I suddenly remembered about my childhood passion of singing. I couldn't sing then, and now I still can't, but for some reason I had a thing for music, which hasn't changed yet. I was, and still am, the only one who looked forward to our weekly music classes. For me music was, and still is, the key to life. We had an old busted radio when I was younger. Nobody even looked at it, so I was the only one to listened to the 1970s hits. I still remember that I used to sit in an old rocking chair and listen to the radio with a cup of milk in my hands (I was trying to act like a grownup!) while the radio blared some popular 1970s songs like "How Deep is Your Love" by Bee Gees and such. I listened to the oldies back then because I didn't know about the new songs like "Clumsy" by Fergie (it's one of my favorites now!) or "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter (This one's a golden!). But I'll admit that I soon forgot about all those songs after i tasted my first up-to-date song back in 2009. It was "21 Guns" by Green day and I still love the song. After that I thought that the oldies were disgusting and weird. But my passion for music hasn't changed, even though I have a few picks of oldies that I love now and hate the rest. But sometimes, when I come across "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi or "Summer of 69" by Bryan Adams I just can't help forgetting about all the new pop songs. I just sing along with the song and remember all those good ol' days of my old busted radio. My busted radio was just a start, I have a long journey ahead of music me...

If you haven't seen Love Live before, I would recommend starting with the first series School Idol Project. Although the tone of the franchise is mainly comedic, there are plenty of heartfelt moments and deep character development that really make it a great watch. This is a topic about season 2 of Love Live Sunshine and therefore will contain spoilers for season 1. Now, let's discuss the show. Episode 1:

Idol anime typically feature characters that perform beautiful songs with visually beautiful costumes and an underlying story. Some of my favourites include: Love Live! School Idol Project: the story of trying to save their school from closing was rather touching and full of energy. The later title Love Live! Sunshine! though I didn't like much at all - as it was shadowing the original characters way too much.. The iDOLM@STER: I'm still watching this one, and think this is my most favourite by far. Go go 765 Production! The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: the production values in this was better and I found this one quite good, and had a really cute nekogirl but it became rather bleak in some parts towards the end. Surprisingly, some of the themes in idol anime can become a little dark too as the performers are of course still living normal lives outside of their work. What are some of your favourite titles?

Heya, guys! So being a music lover, I've always liked to listen to songs or just plain instrumental background music whenever I can. After looking around here, I'm curious to know now. What do you think of Japanese Doujin Music and the Utaites? I'm pretty new to both, myself, as I've only recently came to discover both of them. To those who are not in the know, Japanese Doujin bands are the equivalent to what we call Indie bands from the west. They're groups of people who self-publish their music. The utaite, is someone who does covers of songs that already exist. They basically do their own takes on a song by rearranging the composition, at times, or just sticking as close as possible to the original. So personally, I've always liked FELT and Primary, ever since I've listened to one of their songs a little while ago. You could say they are my favourite doujin bands. With the utaites, Yuikonnu is at the top of the list. Interestingly enough, she also leads Primary. Some of my other favourites include Sana, Ayaponzu, Hanatan and Reol. I'll take the liberty of leaving two songs here. Give them a spin and share you think! I'm very curious to hear what your favorite Japanese song is! Personally, I've been listening to a lot of English music by artists such as Alexander Rybak and Owl City, but I still listen to my fair share of J-pop. If I had to say what my favorite Japanese song is, it's either the song played in the anime Another's ending or Closer by Joe Inoue. What about you?

It's one of my top 5 manga! Also it seems like in 2005, Bokura ga Ita won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shoujo. So anyone who's searching for Shoujo anime, try this out.
