  1. Who wants to do a dragon ball or black butler rp I was thinking we can make up the rp as we go and ocs can be allowed thank you
  2. This long forgotten gem was never adapted into an anime but, it probably should have been. Myself and maybe one or two other people are probably the only ones here that even remember playing this now obscure 2-D fighter on the 16-Bit Megadrive. According to what I read, there were more sequels planned after "Challenge From the Dark Side" was released for the Mega-CD console, but Sega of Japan in their infinite wisdom decided to force an early end to the project in favor of its "Virtua Fighter" franchise - go and figure that out. Although I have never played the sequel, I have many fond memories of the first one. More than being simply an enjoyable electronic game, it was a work of art in many more ways than just one. The fact that the box art was done by legendary artists Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell certainly did not hurt. The premise of the story was very unconventional. Basically it goes, an omniscient alien being from the future with super cosmic powers known simply as "The Eternal Champion" grants a second chance at life to nine different fighters from different time periods who met an early death before they could change history for the better and save the world by averting the extinction level cataclysm that the Champion himself seeks to prevent. The Eternal Champion has the fighters compete against each other for the right to face him in combat and determine whether they are worthy of being allowed to return to their original time and be allowed to live out a full life to offset the negative changes which culminate in disaster. Unlike most fighting games of that era, nobody in the first title was actually evil; there were no equivalent counterparts to Shao Kahn or M. Bison storywise. The Eternal Champion himself is legitimately my least favorite final boss to fight against in any of the fighters that I have played. Not only must the player defeat the Eternal Champion in his several different forms during the same round but, the player's health points are only partially replenished between each part of the fight. If the player lost two rounds against the Eternal Champion, there would be no continues and it would be game over -- followed by the Eternal Champion lamenting in despair of how his expectations were not met while informing the player that the world is doomed and that it was their own failure to pass his test that caused it. I never became good enough where I could beat the Eternal Champion. The time travel theme is something that few other fighting game franchises used. "Time Killers" and ADK's "World Heroes" ( later acquired by SNK/Neo Geo ) were the only other two from the 16-Bit Era ( that I can name ) that used this motif. To a lesser extent, the development team from "Killer Instinct" experimented with the concept when the sequel "Killer Instinct 2" ( aka "Killer Instinct Gold" ) was released for the Nintendo 64 in the late '90s. ( EDIT: Eternal Champions was actually adapted into a comic in the issues of the official Sega publication, "Sonic the Comic", which was exclusive to the UK. The story loosely followed the lore of the game. Details here. ) I still remember my first time playing this, it would show some random character from the cast appear and smash the Sega logo before the title screen started - I always thought that was so cool. Aside from the story concept and art direction, I also really enjoyed the background music. It was some of the best ever used for a chiptune. I was delighted to learn that someone actually made remixes of them in just the past few months of my writing this. As good as some of these remixes are, I still don't feel that they necessarily replace the originals - they are an addition to them. I never much cared for Larcen's stage theme, so that might be one exception for me. Some of the songs which were great in their original chiptune form did not translate as well in the new style, so I will be omitting those. You can listen to the original chiptunes here. The artist, Hyde209, not only does covers of video game music, he is also an accomplished graphic artist as well. If you enjoy this, be sure and check him out. The first remix video is the theme from the database of the game's character bios. Hyde provides abridged versions of each of the characters' backstories. The second is of the game's main menu theme. This one is a remix of the Battle Room theme. Undoubtedly, I would have to say Jonathan Blade's stage theme was my favorite one in chiptune. This remix actually captures the spirit of the original the best out of all the iterations of it that Hyde has done, though it is still missing that whirring noise that drones in the background for most of the song on the Megadrive. Hyde did a much older metal version of this song that is also really good -- link here. He also did a couple of others that were more ambitious but, didn't strike my fancy as much - one of them a collab with a friend of his. Larcen's stage theme was my least favorite out of all the chiptunes...somehow Hyde turned this otherwise unremarkable ( and unoriginal ) song into something that's awesome. To be honest, every remix Hyde has done of Shadow's theme is great but, I think this one actually sounds the most like the original; thus, it is my favorite remixed version of it. The scantily clad blonde vixen from the cover art! Jetta Maxx is easily my waifu when it comes to anything EC. Her theme song was also one of my favorites from the original game. Out of all of Hyde's remixes of her theme, this one is my personal favorite and the only one I will feature here. Growing up, I was a Xavier main. Xavier Pendragon was my favorite character from the game and the one that I most empathized with -- he realized all too late that he had cast his pearls before swine when they burned him at the stake. Historically, I believe those accused of witchcraft were actually hanged instead of burned; the accused were still just as dead though. Each of Hyde's Eternal Champions Tribute albums has a cover of Xavier's stage theme. Although the version from his latest album "Resynthesized" sounds much more like the original, this older metal version is just so cool that I actually prefer it over the other ones. It's that kind of awesome... I have always loved shows and films where both the prehistoric and futuristic would come together. I honestly wasn't sure whether to feature Slash's stage theme remix. It's really more like music to set the mood than something made for musical enjoyment. In any case, this one is most faithful to the original and largely succeeds in capturing that feeling. The game's final boss had a pretty wicked tune even in its original 16-Bit form. I honestly think that I might like this one better than the original version. I really like the way this one turned out. The different remixes Hyde has done of Trident's theme are all so good that he is the only character whom all different theme song iterations thereof will be included here. All three have uniquely different sound qualities that set them apart as their own thing. Hyde's album "The Second Chance" included radio drama style voice acting bits relating to the deaths of each character. Out of the three, the remix from "Resynthesized" ( the first one down below ) sounds the most like the original version. I decided not to even bother with the themes of R.A.X. or Midknight because neither were as good as they should have been with modern hardware - especially Midknight's; it's a shame because Midknight's stage was one of my favorites in the game. The remix of the bad ending. And finally...the remix of the good ending.
  3. Is Saya Kisaragi from the anime Blood-C actually just a Filipina aswang from pre-Spanish colonial era Philippines? In the anime Blood-C, Saya Kisaragi's origins are shrouded in mystery. She isn't even Japanese. And her real name is just Saya. Her last name Kisaragi is fake. In all honesty, we don't even know if her real name is Saya at all. Her real name would have probably been native female Filipino Tagalog such as Luwalhati, Diwa, etc. Her real last name on the other hand, would have been native Filipino Tagalog such as Atabay, Dimasupil, Una, etc. Despite her youthful physical appearance, she is actually much older. A lot of people said that she is an Elder Bairn but there are also ones that say that she is something else. As for her looking like a Japanese teenage human girl, this probably isn't even her real form. Her real form is probably that of tanned skinned Filipino teenage girl with large eyes and not that of a pale-skinned slanted eyed Japanese teenage girl. Her real form could have probably been like this long-black-haired tanned-skinned Filipina girl. She probably could have looked like Mayari from the webtoon Mayari. The webtoon Mayari is created by Azilim. Seriously, search up Mayari. I am not saying that the webtoon is connected to the Blood-C universe. I am just saying that Saya Kisaragi's real physical appearance could have been like that of Mayari. She could have probably used a supernatural power that changed her physical appearance from that of a Filipina teenage girl into that of a Japanese teenage girl. Keep in mind that aswangs have the supernatural power to change from one human form into another different human form. Seriously, those are one of the aswang's supernatural powers. Another thing that sets her apart from Elder Bairns is that she is a monster but looks like a human. She's probably not even an Elder Bairn but something else. So again, is there a possibility that Saya Kisaragi is actually just a Filipina aswang from Pre-Spanish colonial era Philippines? By the way, search up aswangs so you can understand what I am saying.
  4. I don't know if you know about this horror anime but can you tell me its name? This horror anime is about a scary demonic sorceress teenage girl. In the anime series, it's not explained why she is absolutely passionate and happy about her job. Now this is where it gets interesting, her job is basically brutally attacking evil people. She doesn't attack evil people on her own will because she only does these grim jobs at the request of innocent people. Speaking of innocent people, she doesn't attack evil people at the request of other evil people. She only accepts requests from truly innocent people. More than that, no one can ever request her to attack innocent people. In her grim job, she had many ways of brutally attacking evil people. This includes: Brutally killing one or more evil people. Laying a curse that brutally torments an evil family/group for their whole lives. Sometimes, the curse brutally kills one of them. Giving an evil person torment and extremely bad misfortunes for the rest of his/her life. Taking one or more evil people to supernatural realms where they will be brutally killed, tortured to death, or tortured for all of eternity. Torturing one or more evil people to death. Etc. It's been shown in one anime video clip that the types of evil people that the demonic girl attacks included brutal government dictators, ruthless clan warlords, terrorists, gangsters, perverted stalkers, and high school bullies. As for the innocent people that requested her to attack evil people, it's also not good for them because they will eventually pay heavily for requesting the sorceress girl to do her grim job. The ways in which they have to pay is by them dying, dying brutally, being tortured to death, or having to do something very difficult in order for the sorceress girl to grant their requests then they will brutally die or be tortured to death after the sorceress girl completed their requests. About the demonic teenage girl Abilities: The sorceress girl is very powerful as she is basically omnipotent. She is also immortal because she doesn't age and her life doesn't expire. She lives forever. She rules multiple supernatural dark realms. She has legions and armies of demons and monsters. She is basically the most powerful entity in the entire anime according to the anime video clip. It seems like she has 14 demonic servants that are important in the anime according to the anime video clip. Her legions and armies of demons and monsters act in very inhuman otherworldly freakish ways. They never act like humans or show human emotions. They are very bizarre. For example, some of her demon servants don't act like humans or show human feelings and instead, are mostly quiet while showing weird faces and the only noise they make are creepy inhuman screams. Personality: The sorceress teenage girl is mysterious, quiet, and a loner. She rarely speaks but if she does, she talks in a calm voice. Sometimes, her facial expression is blank and other times, she smiles calmly and modestly. She is still mysterious in that nothing is known about her past or her background. It's not even known if she is originally human or something else but it seems that her origin lies in Japan and she speaks fluent Japanese. She doesn't go to school and just roams the whole world. She doesn't have a human family. During normal casual times, she is calm. Such as when she's just calmly talking to a random innocent person on the streets in the morning. But during times where she is doing her grim job of brutalizing evil people, she is creepy and monstrous but there are also times where she is scarily quiet. She is very passionate and happy about her grim job of attacking evil people and feels no sadness or horror from it. Despite all of this, she never kills or hurts innocent people except when they request her to attack evil people. She also only attacks evil people when innocent people request her to do so. Appearance: She has long straight black hair. Her hairstyle is basically the classic hime-cut that is often featured in many animes except that her bangs aren't straight cut but are a bit pointy downwards. Also, the bottom ends of her long hair are pointy downwards. She looks like a 15 year old girl. She has fairly pale skin. She is not fat or thin because she looks fairly physically fit. Her eyes are not red, blue, violet, etc. but are black. During normal casual times, she wears some kind of old-fashioned Western clothes. The clothes have a skirt that goes below her knees. She does not wear a Japanese school uniform. During scenes where she is doing her grim job of attacking evil people, she wears completely weird clothes that aren't even traditional clothes(like a kimono or a medieval European dress) or even old-fashioned clothes but just something straight up weird and otherworldly. Conclusion: The only sources where I got all of this information from are the anime video clip and two full episodes of the anime. During my vacation in Japan, I watched the two episodes on a Japanese channel that doesn't seem to be popular. During my vacation, I visited an important person I needed to meet. I visited him for two days. It was in those two days when I discovered this anime that I am talking about. I was watching the two episodes on his television. Unfortunately, I haven't completely watched the whole episodes so I don't even know the name of the anime, the sorceress girl, or even the names of the two episodes. The first episode that I watched involves an African lawyer adult guy doing extremely difficult things such as cutting off both of his feet as some kind of ritual to the demonic girl so that she will brutally attack a violent thuggish African rebel group who kidnapped the African lawyer adult guy's daughter and held the African daughter captive. The African lawyer completed the ritual. After completing the ritual, what happened is that the demonic girl supernaturally teleported the entire African rebel group to some supernatural realm where she and her demonic army brutally tortured all of the African rebel group members to death. In one of the following days, the African lawyer was brutally killed by the sorceress girl in front of his daughter which made his daughter cry. The second episode I watched mostly takes place in a city and this involves a teenage girl requesting the sorceress girl to exact vengeance against an abusive powerful rich political upper class family who is constantly oppressing the teenage girl's middle class family. One member of the middle class family who was a girl was raped by one of the members of the upper class family. Another member of the middle class family who was a boy was killed by another member of the upper class family. The teenage girl requested the demonic girl for help. What happened afterwards is that the demonic girl placed a curse on the upper class family that gave them extreme misfortunes and extreme sufferings and this curse tormented them for the rest of their whole lives. Two of the upper class family's members even brutally died. As for the short anime video clip that I just watched, I just watched it on some website that isn't even popular. Unfortunately, the person who posted the video clip on the website didn't even give the name of the anime. It's kinda like those Youtube videos where they show interesting shows or movies but do not give their title. Also, I can't find the website anymore so it was probably taken down and I don't know why. You're probably asking how I found this website. Well after I watched the horror anime's two episodes, I got interested in the anime so I started browsing about this anime on the Internet. Since I don't really know the title of the horror anime, I just typed whatever I know about the horror anime and that's how it took me to the website. Unfortunately, the person who posted the video on the website didn't even put the title of the anime. Another thing that sucks is that there is also nothing in the video clip that reveals the name of the sorceress girl. Nothing! Absolutely nothing. I don't really know much about this horror anime except for the fact that it started to be made this year 2022. I don't know if it was based on a manga or if it started as an anime. The anime is truly scary except for the fact that evil people have it far worse. What makes it charming is that it isn't just scary during the scenes where the demonic sorceress girl attacks evil people but the entire episodes. Basically, there is always a tension and thrill involving the mystery of the demonic girl and there is always drama in the lives of the innocent people that requested the demonic girl's grim help. This anime is indeed a true horror anime about demons and monsters but it's not just that because it seems like it also touches on serious mature real-life human issues such as revenge, terrorism, bullying, corruption, tyranny, greed, crime, racism, oppression, murder, rape, economic discrimination, social discrimination, etc. Another thing that I like about this anime is that it is multicultural in that it isn't just Japan where the anime takes place but also in other countries. Also, one unique thing about this anime is that the characters originating from other cultures and nations speak their own languages and not just Japanese while in most animes, all of the characters can only speak Japanese. For example, the first episode I watched featured the African characters speaking local African languages instead of Japanese. I think this is the first time that the Japanese creators hired diverse voice actors. Overall, I like this diversity. So does anybody know the name of this horror anime?
  5. Hi!! I was researching about the book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson, and while reading the physical descriptions of Edward Hyde in the book, I was wondering about something. So Hyde is described as "pale and dwarfish", with rough, corded hands, which is pretty straightfoward. But then it says that he has "something displeasing" and "down-right detestable" in his appearance, and that he was giving "an impression of deformity without any nameable malformation". So how do you think this can be translated into anime/manga?

  10. Ok, I have no artistic talent of my own, but I know there's a few others here without such a handicap. Now is your time. What is an amabie, you ask? Well, wikipedia says, "... the amabiko is a multi-legged prophesizing creature which prescribes the display of its artistic likeness to defend against sickness or death." Yokai.com - obviously(?) the leading authority on yokai - has this somewhat more useful description, If anyone has some drawing skills and would like to take a crack at illustrating the above description(s) - for fun and (possibly) the aid of humanity - then post your artwork below. I think a bunch of people might benefit from seeing it before this whole thing is over. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amabie http://yokai.com/amabie/ https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/amabie
  11. Hello, Recently I have been trying to find the name of an anime that I used to own on VHS since google has been of no help whatsoever I decided it might be best to ask in a place with people who have seen a lot of anime. while I dont exactly remember all the details perfectly as its been (I think) 20ish years the anime had 4 swords people (3 who stayed together 1 who had amnesia) and 1 female warlord in the begining of the movie the amnesic one is in a village not knowing anything about himself other than he knows how to fight and he is tasked to get rid of wasps (or bees its been a long time) he kills all of them except 1 which stings him, later the other 3 find him and try to get him to remember and then the last parts I remember are the female warlord yelling "DIE HOMARU" (im 90% sure the name wasnt homaru and my mind just put that name in instead of what I heard) and then it being revealed that the warlord was a part of the swords person group and something happened that caused her to turn against them...also there might have been magic but honestly I dont remember also although I know im wrong the main character (With amnesia) looked like ryu from street fighter in my memory if anyone knows the anime im talking about please reply and let me know its honestly so annoying trying to find the name of it and not being able to also it isnt berserk I apologize about the long run on sentence
  12. I was reading this on manga rock about how this guy defeated the demon army but was hated by humans so he decided to join the demon army but the demon leader didnt like him so he tried to prove hisself to the four general's and become enlisted into the demon army
  13. you know how hunter x hunter has a way of making the fights super technical and SMART as well as filled with super natural things and super powers? I'm trying to find an anime like that but i havent been able to! Growing up, Naruto gave me similar vibes, the fights also had depth and intellect and strategies within strategies all being explained while they tell you what the characters are thinking. Most fighting animes dont have that and thats mainly why i LOVE hunter x hunter so much. If anyone knows any similar animes please share! unh
  14. I hope I'm doing this right :3 Just finished Hakuouki Movie 1, and wow! It was pretty darn good! Now I want to see the series it's based off of! And the other films. I won't got into to much detail until the discussion starts, but I really liked characters. I also thought the atmosphere was really well developed! The pacing wasn't too slow, or too fast, so it was pretty easy to follow what was going on (though, the large cast made it a bit hard for me to remember everyone's names XD) Did anyone else have a chance to watch it today? What are your thoughts?

  16. Hi guys! I've been watching Anime Dakimakura Pillow product review and I've seen a lot of people asking is it worth it to buy one? Since I got my first ever Anime Dakimakura Pillow, I want to share some details about the pillow that I got. -The size of the pillow that I got is 150 cm x 50 cm (59" x 19.6") and it's much bigger than what I expected since I am only 5ft. tall. 17. Ok, so this is probably going to sound like me rambling. But what if Shinigami are formed when a person dies from suffering, after causing people to suffer? This would most likely explain why the shinigami look humanoid and (cannonically) have rotten insides. If this is true then the leader of the shingamis (the ‘old man’ as ryuk calls him) is likely the only true god. This would also fit in with the thoery that Light becomes a shinigami after dieing, as he bled out on a staircase, and was you know, Kira. If you agree or have any ideas to add I would like to hear. Thanks -Limbo Bilbo
  18. Just started the Netflix series, Castlevania and I have to say I'm pretty hooked. I'm really picky when it comes to American anime and most I don't care for because they are down right boring as heck. I finally reached season two, episode 5 last night. The only real issue for me on the series is the fact that the seasons are so dang short. Season one literally only has 4 episodes, ugh. So does anyone else watch the series? What do you think of it?
  19. hi everyone! i've never used a forum to post questions before but i need recommendations and i thought this would be a good place to go. i'm always having a hard time finding an anime i can really enjoy bc the only genre im really deeply interested in is fantasy and supenatural types (anime with monsters, demons, or vampires is probably my favorite haha) and while its not too terribly hard to find fantasy/supernatural anime i dont always like the super serious stuff :// so im wondering if there is any good fantasy animes that are more slice of life style?? like something fun and different with supernatural elements but in a less serious atmosphere. i find i'll enjoy certain anime until they start to get super serious, i just want something fun! please send me any recs you can think of! p.s. im open to recs of any type of fantasy/supernatural anime you might think i should watch but im mainly looking for something less serious
  20. Koutetsujou no Kabaneri I saw a clip awhile back and thought it had a pretty cool unique fighting action. Then I saw it at the store and well it was like 45 bucks so I thought I better watch it first before buying it. You know to see if it was worth spending that much money on it. So after binge watching all 12 episodes it was awesome so I most likely will go back to buy it especially to see what extras are on the disks. I'd have to say that there is feel of something between Attack on Titan and the movie World War Z. Zombies (Kabane) in a Samurai Steampunk era. It had action and plenty of drama. The protagonist in this show were awesome and come from similar backgrounds sort to speak. The male lead is a cute nerdy badass. Every turn they make is filled with craziness. The first episode starts off with a bang and every episode after just continues with action and drama. The only thing I would say is after 12 episodes you don't know how the Kabane became that's never touched upon so I would if there was ever anything more I'd like to find out how they became into existence. I'd definitely recommend that you watch this one!!!!! You won't be disappointed !!!
  21. Sky Blue is a manga series that I love a lot. It's already been completed but it's not fully scanlated, so I'm currently waiting for every chapter to come out one at a time for me to read in English. I like the story a lot and I think it deserves to be popular. But I think I can safely assume that a lot of you reading this might have just been hearing about this manga for the first time. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of shounen battle with crazy super powers. But it's a bit more than that. It has a little bit of slice of life in the story. The closest manga series I can think of as a good comparison is Bleach. So if you are a big fan of Bleach you might like Sky Blue, or if you're a fan of action shounen manga in general you might really like it. I would really like to have a discussion with other fans on this manga. Like I said earlier I think Sky Blue deserves to be popular and maybe starting a fan community here is the first step.
  22. Hey all, Kuro here and I just finished watching the above mentioned title yesterday and am curious to know what anyone else who watched it thought of it. Right now its a 12-episode season with the 2nd season to air sometime this year (2018). Oni, a buddy of mine and co-worker had watched it and touted to me that it was the best thing ever to hit the market. So sitting down with extremely high expectations I watched it and felt that it was completely oversold. So okay, breaking down the whole I found that the entire 12 episode run had some severe pacing issues. At first it was manic and seemed like someone told the production crew that they only had enough money to make 6-episodes, and they were trying to cut corners by utilizing an information dump on us concerning the MC. Then all of a sudden they got told that it was cool, there was enough money for 12-episodes and they slowed the story progression down to a crawl. I also noticed that the entirety suffered from some form of ADD wherein the focus was constantly lost on the MC and diverted to the new and shiny all the time. Of course as for the MC, plain, dull and lifeless. However, the supporting character that spend the last six episodes with him was awesome. Well developed and tons of growth. Honest...should have made him the MC and left the other one out. Just my feelings. What was done right IMHO was the art and animation. Enjoyed the style with the sharp colors and tight lines. A very nice clean and satisfying experience visually. Outside of that though, everything else was completely unmemorable and I am very upset with Oni at this moment for allowing me to waste my time on this. Well, who am I kidding, I don't feel that anime is a waste of time as long as there was a hint of enjoyment out of it, and this one did provide that with the artwork. Anyway, let me know what you think if you've watched it, if not, take a peep at it and chime in. I'm interested in hearing if everyone see's it the way I did, or if I missed something and they saw a better series than I did. Cheers, -Kuro
