Seshi
Edited the polling options to allow for 2 votes. Users who vote more than twice will have all their votes discarded. Thanks!
Sakura
I don't think it let me vote twice. When I voted a second time it took my vote away from the first vote I placed? x.x
Vitis
I'd just like to weigh in that in these sort of things it's generally better to make posts with votes rather than a poll for a few reasons. 1) it ensures that it does indeed work the way as intended 2) you can require they give a reason for their vote if you're concerned with things like simply voting for your friend's work, but that's typically for sites trying to keep the contest anonymous so prolly doesn't apply for this site 3) prevents dummy accounts from voting, if that is a concern to begin with 4) votes can be edited easily before the deadline 5) no chance of a misclick and people know their vote went through. 6) keep people from voting for themselves if you want to rule that out as an option Several points depend on how you want to run the contest but the main point that the votes go through as the voter intended is the by far the largest reason IMO. If the entrants themselves aren't anonymous the voting really doesn't have to be and even with sites that try to be anonymous the voting tends to be less of a factor though I'd argue anonymous entry is pointless as people have signatures that tend to give away who entered what rendering it moot, but I'd still advocate for post based voting in the future. Seshi
This is the first time I’ve utilized the polling function for voting, so I’m terribly sorry for the issues. I usually have a private judging session with a panel to determine things, this time I decided to leave it up to the community as a whole, as it is largely a reflection of your tastes as far as advertising for the site is concerned. Thanks for the feedback @Vitis. I will take them into consideration in the future. For now, it’s not a big issue that the voters can only vote once. The results will all be determined equally either way.
Seshi
The final decision: I am so thankful for everyone that took the time to help judge this contest over the past week. Your votes helped to make the final decision! One that would have been incredibly hard to make without you, as we had a lot of good entries to choose from. 1st Place: @Sakura with entry #2 getting 4 votes. 2nd Place: @Shana with entries #5 &6 getting 3 votes equally. As promised, your works will be used to greet new members Your points are being awarded now~ Thank you everyone for participating in this contest. We’ve enjoyed having you.
