My Hero Academia

Recommended Posts

I just watched it too & feel similarly. Heroes Rising did an amazing job of helping me put aside any dislike I have for his attitude & just cheer my heart out for him.

I did 100% agree with his assessment of the situation though. Even if it was just a training exercise, one day people's actual lives are going to be in his hands & when those times come he can't just haul ass & run or hope someone else gets the job done. Especially since during the time of this training, they'd already been attacked by bad guys a few different times so situations like this could happen at a moment's notice.

Also, as for Tokoyami, you would think that there is some type of gear or mod that can be made to help him control Dark Shadow. With the exception of being sensitive to light, that would greatly enhance his power & overall usability not only in combat situations but in rescues.

Season 5 premiered today. As expected,  the first ep primarily reintroduces Class 1A & touches on a few key story elements. The training exercise set up is  far from original & some of the reasons for demonstrating everyone’s quirks felt like a stretch, but they did seem to do a good job of letting their differing personalities shine through in their brief time onscreen. The ones that really shone were The Big 3 though

from Hado playing against type as a “villain”, to Anajiki just wanting to leave, to Mirio’s goofball “Oops, I fell in the river again, someone save me” schtick

The second half of the ep focused on the aftermath of Endeavor’s fight against the Ultra Nomu from last season. If you read any of my previous comments in this thread you know I am not an Endeavor fan & last season’s finale left a bad taste in my mouth since I felt they were trying to fast-track his turn from heel to face. I feel a little bit better now that this week at least hinted that it will be more of a journey

the long pause before Todoroki responded to his classmate saying he must be proud of his dad can be interpreted several ways. Maybe he’s concerned because Endeavor is still seriously injured or because he’s not used to having positive things to say about him. My hope is that Todoroki is still hesitant to forgive all the abuse he subjected him & his mom to. I’ll say it again, I’m actually in favor of Endeavor being allowed to redeem himself, but it shouldn’t be quick or easy. And it’s not a matter of getting stronger or more badass or changing his look. I’m also intrigued by the possibility that Dabi & the LoV might be looking to exploit Endeavor’s rise to being the new #1 hero & Hawks may also have ulterior motives

I actually had quite a bit to say for what was a largely a recap episode, but I remain cautiously hopeful that this season could be a return to greatness for the series.

Dang, they sure crammed a lot into this week’s ep.

Hawks & the League of Villains

so Hawks was asked to infiltrate the LoV to spy on them, but it won’t be easy to gain their trust. We got a glimpse of why he has a personal respect for Endeavor. And some of Dabi’s dialogue suggests he may get some character exploration soon

Endeavor’s “Redemption”

the one thing clear after that family dinner is that everyone is at a different stage if reconciliation. I can kind of understand Todoroki’s sister’s desire to finally be an actual family, but it was Endeavor who decided she & Todoroki’s brother were “failures” and wanted  nothing to do with them. Todoroki’s brother is still so pissed off he has a hard time believing that Endeavor is actually sincere about changing & isn’t just trying to improve his public image. It might seem strange considering that he’s the one who’s most angry, but as the eldest sibling I think he may have some feelings of guilt about not being able to protect their mom or Todoroki from the abuse. And Todoroki believes it’s possible that his father might actually change, but is waiting to see more evidence if it. And the fact that the mom is still so traumatized she can’t even be in the same room as Endeavor despite wanting to be a family again just reinforces that there’s still a long way to go

The Origins & Destiny of One for All

this is one of the series greatest  unexplored topics. While I don’t know just how many answers we’ll get this season, we got some interesting insights this week. And it seems that Deku is reaching a critical point in his destiny. And it may not all be positive

Looks like the inter-class competition starts next week, which means action is about to pick up.

If you like dark anime, then of course it's better to watch. But there are many fans like me who not only watch anime but also read. Has anyone read Novel-Sempai? There is a lot of everything collected, but how interesting is it? Has anyone read it? Can anyone give their opinion on this directory? And what about "Dang, they sure crammed a lot into this week’s ep", that's why he is a series, so that the plot is multi-layered.

I’m actually pretty hype for this current arc with the League of Villains being the focus instead of the “heroes”. It’s a good opportunity to get some more depth to their characters and see their teamwork in action.

      Sailor Moon Video Games
Sailor Moon is a massive franchise, pervading all types of media. This also includes video games! Unfortunately, it is estimated that 90% of these games never have seen official releases outside of Japan. However, fans being amazing as we are, many of these have been translated over the years! I have played a good chunk of these myself, but am still working my way through the vast library of these titles. There are also tons of fan-made games for the franchise, many completely worth playing!
My current focus is the Super Moon Fighter series that was created by Sprite Team (a Japanese gaming company), for the X68000. There are several versions of Sailor Moon fighting games that this company has created, and through the power of the internet I have been able to experience NEARLY all of them. 💫
Sadly, the version of the game that sparked my interest, Super Moon Fighter DX, is the single version that appears to be missing from the internet. Any help in unearthing this version would be greatly appreciated. Below is the character select screen, and some additional sprites for reference. The specifics for this version include that Sailor Moon is now Eternal Sailor Moon, and has Luna as a side kick who can also attack. Also, Super S abilities were added in such as Venus Love and Beauty Shock, Mars Flame Sniper, Jupiter Oak Evolution, etc. It is also the only currently known version of the game to include Sailor Saturn, who is extremely powerful.

Super Moon Fighter aside, I would love for this to just be a general Sailor Moon Video Game Discussion Thread. Speak about whatever you like regarding that subject here! I'll start.
Of all the Sailor Moon video games out there, my favorite would have to be Sailor Moon Another Story. If you are unfamiliar, it's a turn-based battle style JRPG that was officially released on the Super Famicon (SNES) by a company called Angel in 1995. To date, it has never seen an official English translation. However, there have been two largely recognized translations done over the years.

The original fan translation of the game was done by Bishoujo Senshi Translations released in 1999. This translation heavily relies on knowledge of the fan-subtitled Sailor Moon anime, and fansub anime in general. Additionally, the creators had to do some major re-programming to get it to work properly. The translation is not perfect, but is still very well done and does not impede on enjoyment of the game. Some technique descriptions are inaccurate / funny. Example: The link technique that combines Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Uranus is called Fire Thunder Shaking. The description for this attack is "An old man?"

Released 20 years after Bishoujo Senshi Translations' initial release, this is a complete English re-localization of the game. Featured are several fixes to issues and bugs in the original game. There is also a version of this that has some small changes to increase quality of life: that being, double EXP per battle and 1/2 enemy encounter rate as well as adding an attack enhancement item to a shop for Sailor Mercury's solo quest. (Because most people had no idea that her Shabon Spray attack is actually the most useful ability in the game).
Both versions of the game are available online. Google search the game title, plus "Fantasy Anime" and you'll find it.
Sailor Mercury - From Useless to OP
Back when all we had was the original translation, and very limited resources, those of us who were able to play it had absolutely NO idea that Sailor Mercury's ability, Shabon Spray, didn't do direct damage. It is even listed in the fan guide  as simply causing minor damage. It wasn't until playing this game as an adult, and becoming obsessed with the fact that her 2 CP cost attack did so much less than everyone else's, and also seemed to have a strange damage limit to it (the numbers never seeming to go higher than 20), for it to just be straight damage. I tested it out, figured out that the numbers popping up are showing exactly how much you are reducing the enemies attack by , and then promptly ran to the internet to find that someone else had discovered the same thing a few years prior. LOL! But still! That was an exciting moment for me, and to this day I do not think it is very well known.
Because of this ability, and the fact that Sailor Mercury has one of the highest Defense Stats in the game, Sailor Mercury has successfully taken the spot as Most Useful Character in Sailor Moon Another Story. Feel free to disagree below.

Is Saya Kisaragi from the anime Blood-C actually just a Filipina aswang from pre-Spanish colonial era Philippines?
In the anime Blood-C, Saya Kisaragi's origins are shrouded in mystery. She isn't even Japanese. And her real name is just Saya. Her last name Kisaragi is fake. In all honesty, we don't even know if her real name is Saya at all. Her real name would have probably been native female Filipino Tagalog such as Luwalhati, Diwa, etc. Her real last name on the other hand, would have been native Filipino Tagalog such as Atabay, Dimasupil, Una, etc.
Despite her youthful physical appearance, she is actually much older. A lot of people said that she is an Elder Bairn but there are also ones that say that she is something else. As for her looking like a Japanese teenage human girl, this probably isn't even her real form. Her real form is probably that of tanned skinned Filipino teenage girl with large eyes and not that of a pale-skinned slanted eyed Japanese teenage girl.
Her real form could have probably been like this long-black-haired tanned-skinned Filipina girl. She probably could have looked like Mayari from the webtoon Mayari. The webtoon Mayari is created by Azilim. Seriously, search up Mayari.
I am not saying that the webtoon is connected to the Blood-C universe. I am just saying that Saya Kisaragi's real physical appearance could have been like that of Mayari.
She could have probably used a supernatural power that changed her physical appearance from that of a Filipina teenage girl into that of a Japanese teenage girl. Keep in mind that aswangs have the supernatural power to change from one human form into another different human form. Seriously, those are one of the aswang's supernatural powers.
Another thing that sets her apart from Elder Bairns is that she is a monster but looks like a human. She's probably not even an Elder Bairn but something else.
So again, is there a possibility that Saya Kisaragi is actually just a Filipina aswang from Pre-Spanish colonial era Philippines?
By the way, search up aswangs so you can understand what I am saying.

So I didn't stumble upon any forum mentioning about this amazing anime "No Game No Life". Well come on guys please give me some revuews about this anime, because personally I love it. I mean the plot and the characters are just so fitting !! The intelligence level of this anime alone can defeat that of Isaac Newton's(just kidding, maybe). The use of psychology and some of the truth of life just hits so hard from this anime. Tell me about your opinions !
