I ‘d watched Ultimate more recently but it was still years ago (I believe it was on Toonami/Adult Swim) and it made more of an impression on me. Ultra-violent horror isn’t really one of my favorite genres, but was still a standout example. My alltime favorite horror series is probably Shiki, though I enjoyed Devil Lady too. Ironically I’m just about to try watching Higurashi (When They Cry) including Kai & Rei what with Halloween coming up.
