I went for a simpler style with this one that was inspired by Saikano.

I like it!~ Sometimes simple is way better. I always feel like my styles are simple as well but they work, just like this one 💜

I used to pass the time searching the web and raiding the free font websites.

I do this so much LOL There are a ton of free font packs on Deviantart where I usually get mine, this is why I wound up with thousands of fonts @.@

I tried a completely different style for this one. It's inspired by Aquatope On White Sand, a rather good but underrated series about two high school girls who try to save the local aquarium.

That sounds like an anime I would like very much lol ~ I really love the dolphin in it. How did you do the background? Did you add the penguin and dolphins into the background and blend them in?

Yes, I'm sure you'd like that anime. It does a good job of showing two teenagers who really care about the creatures in the aquarium. It's available on CR, so go watch it. 🙂

So many questions. 🙂
The background was created using the gradient tool.
The sea and beach were drawn using one of the standard rough edge brushes at different widths.
The stars are a special lens flare brush set from the Panos.FX website.
The penguin and dolphin were found on Google images and had the original backgrounds erased.
They were then placed as the top layer with parts of their lower bodies erased to make it look like they are in the water. It's the same penguin used thee times at different sizes and angles.

(Penguins and a dolphin are a major feature in the anime which is why they are there.)

That's really impressive that you drew the background with the brushes and everything I like that aspect of it, it's very creative.

This one is based on one of the stories in ef: a tale of memories and probably needs some explanation for those not familiar with the series. Due to a brain injury Chihiro Shindou cannot retain new memories beyond 13 hours, which is why I placed her inside a clock face surrounded by other clock faces. The other character is Renji Asou the boy who became her friend and later fell in love with her.

That is such a nice concept to put her in the clock faces like that. That sounds like such a sad anime though :c

Actually, it's not a sad anime. It ends on a positive note for all three of the story arcs.

The sequel ef: A Tale of Melodies on the other hand has a heartbreaking story arc.

ef: a tale of memories sounds like it would be heartwarming to watch after you saying it ends on a positive note in all 3 story arcs. ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ The project is a beautiful tribute to the anime in my opinion. ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^

The new art you've added here is very nice I especially like this new piece and the story behind it. Art with a good story to it seem to come out better.

The series has quite a distinctive and unusual artistic style and a great soundtrack.

This one is from Chihayafuru, a rather long, and quite good, series about a group of students who play competitive Karuta. Which is a card game that is popular in Japan that requires a high degree of agility and memory.

Great works the render you used looks very nice in this way as if you captured the moment of her playing the game.

Yeah I agree with Pess, it looks like an action shot sig and looks awesome! Love the colors and the border around it as well.

You certainly beat the rest. Your work is really astounding. Very good pieces!

Thank you for your kind comments about my GFX work.

But I wouldn't say I beat the rest, there's a couple of people on AF that are much better GFXer's than me.

Just takes practice and patience for  me it did.

This one was inspired by the film Barefoot Gen, a great film but not an easy one to watch.

This looks great did you add all the fire into it yourself or was it part of the picture?

The fire was a PNG which I cropped and used parts of at different sizes around the picture.

Thank you. The gradient is a standard Photoshop one and there's lots of PNG's in that one, the flames all came from the same PNG but cut about and rearranged to fit the scene.

I love using flame PNG's unfortunately I hardly find myself working with a render where I get to use them 😮‍💨
