music plays a big part in making certain scenes work in anime so what is the soundtrack that has left the most impact on you?

i personally think the soundtracks of these two anime play a big role at creating the atmosphere for the scenes they are used in

here is a clip from katanagataris final episode the soundtrack was done by iwasaki taku

I seem to have gotten out of anime soundtracks unfortunately, it appears I don't focus on them as much, however when I did, I must say that Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and RahXephon had some pretty good soundtracks!

Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE was scored by Yuki Kajiura, who also scored Mai-HiME, Mai-Otome (except for S.ifr), NOIR, MADLAX and El Cazador de la Bruja! Some of those were pretty good soundtracks too, but didn't get round to listening to them properly, back in the day! Tsubasa's soundtrack is actually so good, that when I read the first volume of the manga, the soundtrack was actually playing in my head, with the corresponding scene in the anime!

RahXephon was scored by Ichiko Hashimoto, who also scored the short music video to CLOVER (a CLAMP manga, same as Tsubasa), and Code Geass -Agito the Exile-, so I need to watch that at somepoint! RahXephon has a pretty funky soundtrack, going through a range of different styles, Hashimoto even sings some songs herself!

My mind says there might be an ALI Project scored series that I would nominate, but nothing springs to mind, other than Kaibutsu Oujo, CLAMP School Detectives and Wish (another CLAMP short music video)! Thinking about, Strawberry Panic! had a good soundtrack too, if I remember rightly!
