Hello everyone!

 

We are currently seeing some positive changes in the community, an example being the gorgeous 12 new layouts that @Optic so graciously made - But I wanted to get some perspective from other members around the forums on what other changes you all would like to see!

 

It is no lie that we have currently had some loss in the forums - Between the holidays and losing a handful of our regularly active members, there has been a slight decline. But I am hopeful that things will be turning around shortly! I just want to take a minute to personally thank the new members who have joined and have been actively posting, but also to the handful of you all that log on every day to keep things running! You are an important part of this community and that is why I am creating this post!

 

Getting everyone's perspective is important since it is every one of you who make this forum what it is today -

 

So, all that being said, what changes would you like to see? Please, do not be shy, as it is important to know how you all truly feel about how things currently are!

 

You can discuss anything and your concerns or issues will be addressed-

 

 

 

One issue that I have personally been discussing with Optic is a reward system for being active - This means discussion oriented posts - Non spam or chat related topics. A reward system can be many things, a few examples being points or status. I personally feel like personal reward for making positive contribution to the forums means that people have a personal goal to work towards, other than just your post count. I am curious as to how people feel about that. It is currently unclear as to what these positive rewards would be, but your opinion would be noted!

 

 

 

My own personal goal for AF would be to see it grow and become much more discussion oriented than it already is! But I also would like there to be many positive changes for everyone - things that would make each and every member much happier to be here at AnimeForums, rather than another community.

Absolutely be sure to have contests and a reward system to motivate users to contribute. How active is this forum? Do you have enough people to contribute - and what are they geared towards (writing, art, gfx)? Regardless though, it's a step in the right direction.

I also agree with your post I believe there are enough here its wether they will participate in any (but lets hope in some way they will)

I also believe in gearing it in all thous directions and if the need be more and let the members find their area/calling

some may not be able to do in a specific area but may still have interest in it and in some way may still be able to participate

We aren't highly active currently, but there are a large handful of active members who are interested in these things and are willing to contribute- I also feel like if we get these types of things rolling, then more members who join may stay because they we have more fun things to offer to them. There are a variety of things people here are interested in, but that being so, there are also a handful of people who are introverted and wont necessarily speak out on their own. But hopefully we can make some positive changes soon to benefit those people!

TBH, i dont see it as silly either, since im on here more then 24/7 on most days. this is literally the place i go to write, to socialise, to think, to draw.

 

what's wrong with me having a place to confine it all into so i can teach people and show step by steps, guides, writing script techniques, exedra

tutorials step by step guides, drawing or writing script techniques I believe are always good and may come as help to them that are green at it and are interested

I do not see it as silly. You are a very important member of this community. My only concern was that if we make one section entirely for your disposal, then everyone would also want their own sections. I was merely teasing you, brother. I do think that you have a good idea. But it is also up to Optics discretion.

I for one arnt motivated but that's just me I just enjoy my time in the forum

Well to be fair I do like the badge system. What I would suggest doing for the anime forums would be making more community based badges then the ones we already have. To add to this, we can also do prize systems such as doing "AF member of the month" with a big plaq of that person, andso ononoo

Thank you for your input ^-^ I really do want to know what you do or do not like and what you may want to change or leave the same~ But I do like this idea of expanding the badges.

If you all don't mind, I will make a list tomorrow of the ideas for improvements that can be made so we can nitpick through them and then come up with more ideas.

With ryuji gone we can't because he was in charge of competitions. I think what we should do is add more score for the level up system depending on how often people log in, how many posts people do, how often they use chat, exedera.

You are not the only member to feel this way~ I believe badges were earned for certain contests and things of that nature as @Peacock has pointed out. But it is something that @Optic may want to work on.

 

I think being able to earn badges for things like post count and things of that nature will probably make members feel more accomplishment. I also feel like a higher "status" if you will, may also make people more motivated to post actively.

 

In addition to, I still personally feel we should also consider another route of achievement for people. This way there are multiple ways to achieve things and therefore, it keeps more people happy. Of course we can't make everyone happy all the time. But it is something to consider.

There are other ways to earn badges, but I believe some of them were earned by contests and things of that nature.

We could also do things with AF steam group as well. Like competitions and so on.
