Whether a cartoon or live-action series, I'm sure we all have those moments in television that we absolutely cherish for certain reasons. Feel free to post your favorite scenes, or any great scenes that stand out to you. Here are some of mine: The Wire- Cutty wants out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaA0nmn8_fk Cutty is one of my favorite characters and I found this to be one of the most powerful moments in the show. The fear in his eyes, the somberness in his voice- his heart just wasn't in it anymore. That fearsome soldier he once was for the Barksdales no longer existed. As ruthlessness as Avon is, I loved that he let Cutty go without a problem. The way Avon was humanized here made me respect him so much more despite all the horrible things he’s done. In the end, Cutty not only departed from a dangerous lifestyle that destroys the community, but then chose a better path to help the community. I couldn’t be happier for him. The Leftovers- Kevin singing "Homeward Bound" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzakrA2NUpg When considering Kevin’s story and what he’s thinking about, this scene really hits you hard. He isn’t the best singer, but there's so much passion and emotion in his voice that he makes the song his own. When his voice cracks due to longing for his family, :'(:'(:'(. Give Justin Theroux a goddamn emmy pls. Fargo- Forest shootout opening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUUa6Ldu1fA From its beginning until end, everything about it is incredible - the atmosphere, dialogue, badass mafia characters, the ensuing violence, Ronald Reagan's speech, etc. I love the allegoical juxtaposition of Reagan spouting conservative values as the bloodbath in the forest is occurring. Of all the openings in the show, this one is my favorite. Sense8- "What's Up" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRJYCW_dCN4 Creatively fun scene that makes you feel pure joy. It was at this moment that I really started to connect with the characters and hoped they would all make it out okay. Chuck inspires Joffrey levels of hatred, so it was satisfying to see the beginning of his downfall here. The funny thing is I do actually feel a bit of sympathy for Chuck because he's been pretty much right about Jimmy, who has always been towing the line between right and wrong. It's only a matter of time before Jimmy completely morphs into Saul Goodman, but even so, that's on Chuck for influencing it. The Boondocks- MLK speech http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5FR1LGsT7E The entire episode was brilliant. It bears so much relevance in today's political and social landscape, and the speech just drove the point home in an epic fashion. Marvel's Daredevil- Hallway fight (or really any fight scene in the show) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B66feInucFY Acting, camerawork, and especially the choreography are beautiful. The action isn't done just to look over-the-top flashy. When Daredevil fights, you can tell he wants to end it. When a punch connects, it's like you feel the impact. He may be an amazing fighter, but he still gets hurt and tired like any other human being, so even though you know he's going to win in the end, you're still filled with tension.
