Vivi Hyuuga
Rewatching Engaged to the Unidentified I'm reminded that the first time I watched this I was inspired to make scones, clotted cream, and jam (all homemade) after the characters made some. When watching Little Witch Academia (series) I made a tart after the characters discussed stealing one. The tart was a recipe I came up with, strawberry and guava topped with a dollop of whipped cream. Of course many anime have lead me to making curry. When watching Sweetness and Lightening I was inspired to make a lot of dishes, but alas I never had all the ingredients. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else is inspired to experiment in the kitchen due to anime?
User 781
You sound like you enjoy baking. I never could get a handle on that. (Which is a little funny, since I happen to share my IRL name with a pretty famous baker.) But I am a lean, mean, grilling machine. I can make a curry like it's nobody's business. Recently I have been experimenting with flank steaks, and want to break into kobe beef. Maybe ramen? I definitely stemmed a LOT of inspiration watching Chuuko Ichiban. There is an absurd amount of cooking going on, of course it is literally about cooking. I've been told to watch Food Wars by a friend... I imagine I'll be on another curry kick in the near future. Wodahs
I had thought about trying some of the ones from sweetness and lightning but anime it self has never put me in the mood for cooking , and I do like to cook when I have the time and I spent a lot of time on a farm so had a lot of beef lamb and pork to use in the dishes
CheesyTrees
Food Wars has taught me that if my food doesn't disrobe people by the sheer force of taste, it ain't good enough ... In actuality, it kinda just makes me wish I had a good food logic that didn't require me staring at a recipe to make anything :

I really do! I taught myself to bake when I was eight and was always interested in playing around with recipes so I figured out how to create my own recipes. Your curry sounds great! It's always such a comfort food. The ramen sounds like a splendid idea! Have you tried watching Jun's Kitchen on Youtube? 18 hours ago, Wodahs said: I had thought about trying some of the ones from sweetness and lightning but anime it self has never put me in the mood for cooking , and I do like to cook when I have the time and I spent a lot of time on a farm so had a lot of beef lamb and pork to use in the dishes I actually cooked some pork for dinner tonight, which is rare for me! One of the dishes I can't forget from Sweetness and Lightning that I still want to try is the sweet potato and cream stuffed crepes. 8 hours ago, CheesyTrees said: Food Wars has taught me that if my food doesn't disrobe people by the sheer force of taste, it ain't good enough ... I found food logic is greatly developed by copious amounts of Food Network. Though I don't watch it much anymore, because anime.

Out of curiosity, if you watch food anime, do you ever find the food logic to be questionable? :3 I sometimes wonder, but for the most part I just accept it without question since I don't know better

However, I would say that what I have seen of food in anime has been sound cooking techniques. I really enjoy seeing new food on anime and then researching it! The cooking blog Just One Cookbook is a great resource for cooking authentic Japanese dishes. I was able to dig up some photos of my anime/Japanese inspired food for y'all! My favorite item to make is the Japanese strawberry cake because it has so many steps that need to be done exactly right, it makes it fun. The mushipan is really fun, quick, and easy! My favorite flavor was matcha with mini chocolate chips. Then you'll also see a picture of waffles with caramel, nuts, pears, and whipped cream inspired by the waffles Kaori eats in Your Lie In April. And Then I also have curry rice and yaki udon.

Vivi Hyuuga
Thank you, @CheesyTrees ! I just love working on it, so I have a lot of practice. Thankfully even though I've been on a super strict diet myself for the past six months I can still bake for my family.

SleepyLeoulf
Always wanted to try a anime lunch in a bento box since my grandma gave me one of her's plus a set of chopsticks as well.
SAO LILDOOP
My mom after watching Silver spoon made a dish from the show, some rice with raw eggs and soy sauce; it was actually really delicious. I would love to make Ohagi, I just love the Ohagi scene in Higurashi and I would love to eat some but I would have to look up a recipe first.
