There, many various Kan-musume have gathered to live together and work hard everyday in training and other matters. One day, a Kan-musume arrives at Chinjufu, She is a special class of destroyer. Her name is Fubuki. "I am Fubuki! Nice to meet you!" Fubuki's story — as well as the Kan-musume's story — begins now. Based off the online Japanese online card game, Kantai Collection. This game of course is well known for adding moe to World War II ships. PV looks interesting, I quite enjoyed Strike Witches and Girls und Panzer which had cute military characters in them so Kantai Collection looks to be on a similar path. I've never played the video game. Will certainly keep an eye out for this one in January, 2015. Anyone else have any other thoughts? drill Posted January 7, 2015 Share Posted January 7, 2015 They did a lot better than I was expecting. Hopefully it stays this good, and doesn't go south later on in the anime. I wasn't sure at first, but having Fubuki as the main character seems to be working out well. Although the episode count isn't released yet, I'm really hoping for this to be a two cour anime. Back-story is a bit thin so far, hopefully we learn more about this "Abyssal" fleet that appeared from the depths of the ocean. As expected, the fleet girls with their battle outfits are cute. Thoughts which I hope to see expanded: Who's the admiral? What is Akagi's relationship with Fubuki? Why does she hope to fight by her side one day? What's the source of the fleet girls' power? It's implied it is magic embedded within their souls. I wasn't sure at first, but having Fubuki as the main character seems to be working out well. Fubuki is ditzy in a cute way. Why does she hope to fight by her side one day? I really hope they thought of something not cliche, but I'm not expecting anything. At any rate, I look forward to why this is as well. And as long as they don't take several episodes to explain, I don't mind them doing this, but I think they would be better off leaving it alone. Yes, in the game, you are indeed the admiral, however, the admiral is never even seen in the game, and I wouldn't be surprised that the admiral wasn't shown in the anime because of that. I was seriously not expecting anyone to die in this anime, but it does shape the show better. Otherwise they would seem invincible, and the war would be too one sided. This episode was alright, but nothing amazing. I feel like they are trying to cram too much into this anime. It should either stay as a school anime, or focus on the battlefield. [spoiler=Fubuki's reaction]Seeing Fubuki's expression after they introduced themselves really brought a smile to my face. But more importantly, that final scene: [spoiler=Fubuki and Mutsuki] ...when Fubuki hugged Mutsuki as she cried out for Kisaragi, finally acknowledging her death was the most touching scene of all. Yuuki_Radosian Posted February 5, 2015 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Just got through episode 5 , this is really not my type of anime , I can see that it is well made and there are definitely some good plot points . It has great cinematography and the story so far seems quite good I like how the 3D has been mixed in during the battle scenes and it was done well and really. There are either one of two things happening. First, the first 5 episodes were just the first arc featuring Fubuki, and now they are going to feature other characters. The way it was structured, the way it was serious to the side characters who took the spotlight for one ep when it really was far from serious, all that stuff. It was nice and laid back, but I'm sure things will get better again. I'd like to share some random story about something that's still happening on another site but not to the same extreme as when it started. Members are able to buy custom user groups and some of them completely changed their profiles to Abyssel ships. Now, I really don't care for their designs and because of them the fights are being more boring than they could be (that's the way I personally see it), but I don't really mind what these members are doing apart from some of them using an annoyingly spaced out font. She does pretty well at being the flagship, and the battle was actually interesting as we already know they are not afraid to kill off characters if they have to. Fortunately, no one died though. Am curious to see more encounters against them. I can't find any problems with it but personally I just don't 'get this anime. Probably because it lacks that "memorable" touch. It is after all based off a game that didn't have a strong story to begin with. @FearInCube plays the game and may be able to provide some insight on the game itself. It's probably for the best that they're like this. Some people can have fun their way, I can just root against them. I really hope Yamato becomes part of Fubuki's fleet, as then they would just dominate. At the very least, they need to have a real battle with her next episode.
