What Did You Do In Gaming Today

Recommended Posts

Zelda Breath Of The Wild (Switch)

So I kind of forgot about this game 😅. I decided out of boredom to pick up my switch again and play it. I didn't do much with the exception of completing some shrines.

Persona 5 (PS4)

Ran into Ryuji and found the castle (which ended up being the school). Then ran into a talking cat.

I still haven't played it. U. U

Anyway, I downloaded Fe last night, but I'll probably just go download the DLC for FO4 and be hooked on that for a while too because I realised I haven't played them yet.

I'm getting sucked in again.  I was doing so well too.  Hadn't even thought about the game for ages.. then I discovered a directory full of old stuff while cleaning up some files.  Ran the old .jar.. it worked.  Help me....  :D

Worked on some more customization on my character (move sets, entrance, etc.)

Otherwise I didn't do much gaming because of work 😢

Fallout 4: Picked up Jezebel's brain (whilst disrespecting her, of course, because my character is an unashamed ass,) and hit level 50 yeet! Also found a way to mod my energy rifle to basically function like a shotgun, and it's one-shotting things. Maybe a bit overkill but who cares, it's Fallout. Anyway I'm just using it until I collect more railroad spikes because clearly the most superior weapon in the game impales your enemies' heads to the wall.

Monster Hunter World: KT Siege doesn't start up again until next month (boo hiss) so we've just been working on limited bounties to up our HR. I main Insect Glaive as a weapon, but today I figured 'awheckwhynot' and picked up a set of shiny Xeno Dual Blades. To my surprise, they're actually stupid fun! I'm killing monsters twice as fast and twice as recklessly and cartwheeling up a monster's back is so satisfying I might just stick with these babies for a while.

Didn't do any gaming unfortunately today but I did buy two new games, finishing paying off Jurassic World Evolution and started my preorder on Pokemon Let's Go Eevee limited edition version.

Running bounties last night. We killed an Anjanath while it was stuck in a pit trap and the result was undignified but by grace quite hilarious at the time. Jokes were made. Rum in my nose. Teysa is a jerk.

I started playing Ni No Kuni II in it's hardest mode, and I gotta say, it fixes a lot of my complaints about the game. I think the leveling is a bit too fast still, making the mode a little less interesting than it should be, but it's nice to play the game in such a way that it's actually challenging again. Game was waaay too easy before.

Got lost in minecraft.  Several times.  Fortunately(?) I have a decent GPU so I can bump the render distance up a bit.  Not sure if that actually helps, or if it just means that when I get lost I'm REALLY lost. 🤔

So far I've been able to make it back.. eventually.  I always use a tall tree as the landmark for my base.

I do like going out in the morning just as the sun comes up and watching all the mobs burst into flames..

I used to build giant lighthouses and cobblestone mushrooms as my landmarks but since playing on an "all high mountain" terrain I have just started carrying a compass with me. No sleeping lol....

I would go with that plan but I just started new game yesterday & haven't even seen any redstone so no compasses yet.  Or maps.  I just started a mine, but it isn't deep enough to reach the good stuff yet.  Wasted most of yesterday just refamiliarizing myself with the controls and tech tree and establishing a farm/base.  (When I wasn't getting lost.)  The occasional creeper isn't helping either.

I should post a picture sometime of my greenhouse for farming. I made it ridiculously huge but the lighting I decided on for the crops was..odd. Odd but it works. Got to get back to my homestead on that game eventually. Been fixing the few towns that I have the last few times I logged in.

So... I was playing through Far Harbour when suddenly my game gives me a message a bit like, "No space to save, please delete save files." If I were smart, I'd manually go in and delete a few. But I'm not. There are probably dozens of old save files, going way, waaayyyy back into my play through and it gets laggy sorting through them. I went into my console and did a sweep delete of my save files thinking I'd just open the game back up and make a new save state once they're wiped and carry on.

Nope. The game reset. Main playthrough totally wiped. 144 hours gone. Level 56, unspeakable time spent piddling and building up my settlements. Poof.

Weirdly, I'm not even that mad... I was frustrated with that save state for a few reasons:

  • I didn't ever pick up the Ballistic Weave, and for some reason, you can only obtain the schematics for this through the Railroad. I killed P.A.M.
  • Speaking of the Railroad- my main questline was totally FUBAR because Gloria was killed in a BoS quest, and Deacon was unkillable. So the quest "End of the Line" was literally incompletable and I could no longer progress the story.
  • All those saves I had were lagging my game. I know this because as soon as I started up a new one, everything- and I mean everything- was running a lot smoother.

So... anyway I made a new game and I'm alright with it. I know the questlines inside and out at this point, so I know where the pitfalls are and can avoid them for the most part. And, I'll be certain to pick up the Ballistic Weave this time. :) I know which perks work for me, which don't, and what to level up first.

I'm actually very surprised about how not mad I am about this situation.

Akiba's Trip (PS4)

Been doing some side missions for a while until I got annoyed and then completed a couple main missions to which I learned Rin is Shizuka's younger sister and she's not that much of a brat that she likes to pretend to be to her fans.

Persona 5 (PS4)

Went back to castle which Morgana lead the way and showed us where the save points were...

Tomorrow (July 3rd) my preorder of Jurassic World Evolution comes out! *screams* So excited!

Jurassic World Evolution (PS4)

Played the first island and then unlocked the second island but I decided I want to work on the first island more before heading to the other one (I have so much invested in it that I'm just not ready to part with it yet).

Harvest Moon Ligbt of Hope (Switch)

Upgraded my axe so I can finally cut down hardwood trees. Also fixed up the hot springs place too.
