efaardvark 758 Posted October 12 So I discovered that events are a thing in the RLCraft modpack. I'll be in the basement if you need me. I did go exploring a bit here and there around my base this week, trying to find a way around the dragon's valley. Honestly I'd like to go that direction since everywhere else around here is savanna or desert, but I'm not leveled up enough or equipped well enough to tackle him. I don't even have an enchantment table yet.. to use a diamond pickaxe I need at least level 12 mining, and even just mining obsidian is dangerous. Obsidian is always near lava, and in RLCraft there's .. things that live in lava. Things that lob lava at you, or even tentacled things that grab you and drag you into the lava. There's a lot of interesting ways to die in RLC.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 13 I ended up preordering another game this weekend. I couldn't choose between the two this time so I ended up getting both!
efaardvark 758 Posted October 14 (edited) I died. Never even saw it. Edited October 14 by efaardvark 1
Serge heartless 144 Posted October 15 I don't think anyone on this site will care, but ninja warriors remake is out today on PSN and Switch Shop. Ill be playing this all day.
efaardvark 758 Posted October 16 (edited) Just found out the 1.8 update for Kerbal Space Program - appropriately named "MOAR BOOSTERS!" - has dropped. (Kind of inside joke for the player base there, but you get the Idea.) New version of Unity underneath, so I'm hoping for a significant performance boost on my Ryzen 2700X + Radeon RX480 system as well. Previous KSP versions were compute-bound on the physics simulation which was almost completely single-threaded. I rarely saw more than 2 cores in use at a time, and even the "old" gfx card (polaris core) wasn't fully utilized. Downloading it as I type, but I probably won't get to play with it until this weekend. Come on Friday! Edit: Ok, I couldn't resist. I did play with it when I got home. Not much though. I really just installed it and "tested" it enough to make sure the new version is working and ready for Saturday. Coffee, then Kerbals is the Plan. EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 16 Stardew Valley (Switch) I finally was able to get the key to unlock the door to the sewer. I also won the ice fishing competition as well.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 17 Sims 4 (PC) My celebrity family's baby aged up to be a toddler. Might make them have a 3rd child which will "hopefully" be a boy this time. Mass Effect Andromeda (PS4) Played a bit of story mode then went online and did a couple hours on there as well as sent out my strike teams to do strike missions. Beocat 713 Posted October 21 today I played some Stardew Valley and while stopping to do some random fishing (I rarely come to the beach...pretty sure I dropped in to see if I had any lobsters for a gift for Elliott) I suddenly noticed a head by my crabpots! The near impossible happened and I had a sea monster spawn by the docks! I should've bought a lottery ticket today... >_> practically had a panic attack trying to remember which button on the controller is for screenshots since I never use it lol... EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 22 Haven't done much for gaming. Work has been keeping me drained last week and this week. Might hop back onto Red Dead Redemption II. Also need to finish Pokemon Let's Go. @Beocat Honestly I don't go to the Beach very often with the exception for when the Night Market happens. I actually forget about the Beach, lol. Mikeyboy636 1 Posted October 23 Started playing YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana on the switch, really pleased so far but not the easiest game to get hold of at a reduced price.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 26 Code Vein (PS4) Probably took me a good solid hour or two to create my character. Didn't get far into the story though because I kept dying at the first boss (Collins).
efaardvark 758 Posted October 27 Updated to Ubuntu to Eoan so I'm "testing" everything to see what broke. KSP did not break. Minecraft has issues. Had to download and reinstall the launcher even to launch local games and connect to realms. My RLCraft server won't start at all. <moment of silence while sad trumpets play in the distance> Probably just the newer java, but tbh I might not even bother. Like most of the high-end games (high in terms of hardware requirements) Minecraft is going to get some refactoring to enable better multithreaded performance over the next year starting with 1.15. Unfortunately the RLC modpack is based on 1.12, and I had a hard time even getting it all running in the first place. Maybe if they update the modpack to use MC1.15+ I'll try again. For now though .. it was fun(?) while it lasted, but I'm not going to waste too much time trying to get all the old mods running. If I was really that interested I could always go find or set up a public RLC server. I find that I am not. I need to get back to KSP anyway.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted October 30 Code Vein (PS4) Made it to home base and working on my next mission. Apparently there's a human nearby and trying to find him/her before the other group does.
efaardvark 758 Posted November 2 Got the latest KSP (1.8.1) patch, the Breaking Ground DLC, and all but one of my usual mods installed. As soon as Kerbal Alarm Clock gets updated for 1.8x I'll be all set to make what will probably be my last career game runthrough before KSP 2.0 gets released. efaardvark 758 Posted November 5 Designing a new ore transfer vehicle for surface ops, getting familiar with how some of the new hinge/servo parts from the Breaking Ground DLC work.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted November 6 Planet Zoo (PC) Been waiting forever for this game. Gonna build my zoo and probably fail but oh well, lmao.
efaardvark 758 Posted November 8 Just read that KSP2 has been delayed for a couple months. Not exactly unexpected considering the claims. It might even give me time to complete my latest KSP1 "career". I did my first major Mün mission in that and ran into .. unexpected difficulties. Mostly of my own making of course. I can report that all kerbals made it back safely however. Eventually.
efaardvark 758 Posted November 9 I accepted a big $$ contract in KSP to land a 7-kerbal, wheeled "outpost" on the Mün... I think I'm going to name it Catbus.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted November 15 Didn't do much gaming since I was at a con all weekend then came down with what they call the "Con" Crud. Fable II (Xbox One) Recently got Game Pass since my friend who went to the convention with me talked me into it. Been playing Fable II off and on after coming back from said Con. Really looking forward to Pokemon Sword and Shield which comes out today. Just have to wait til after work to pick my copies up (got the double pack). Then I'll probably binge play that for awhile, lol.
Beocat 713 Posted November 15 @EnviousEnvy Ahh, Fable 2... I married a pirate in that one and got my only std from him lol....funny the stats that game keeps up with! It was actually a fun game. Odd that you mentioned it as I was reminiscing about it literally the other day. I've not played anything as of late. Been sewing a lot and although I'm batcheloretting it out for a week, I've been working crazy nonstop. Too tired to play when I get home. I slept all of yesterday and all morning today though so I'm thinking Sims tomorrow...or maybe an Otome game on my PS3. Had it out for a while now and just never had time to play. ArchieKun 794 Posted November 15 I watched a lets play of Paper Mario TYD. I enjoy that game very much.
Serge heartless 144 Posted November 15 Playing Pokemon Sword, its already better then lets go. Glad they got rid of the motion controls. Such a pain catching mons with the motion controls. Its back to get the pokemon down to low HP then catch them.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted November 16 @Serge heartless I honestly liked both but yeah I'm definitely glad they went back to the original. I couldn't decide which to get this year so I got the double pack (I normally get both versions eventually anyway so I got them both right away). Their next one I'm gonna have someone choose which one for me (probably the GameStop guys). I heard Target's preorders were horrible and almost all of them have to wait until the 28th now for theirs. EnviousEnvy 221 Posted November 16 Pokemon Sword (Switch) Started playing this at like 10PM last night. So far the game is pretty adorable. I don't understand how people (who haven't even played the game) are saying the graphics are that of the 3DS. Understandably they will never be as good as PC, PS4 or Xbox but Sword and Shield are definitely a lot better than the DS ones. Anyway, I'm enjoying it and cannot wait to be done with work so I can binge play it more, lol.
EnviousEnvy 221 Posted November 18 Pokemon Sword (Switch) Herenheit finally evolved last night. I didn't very far however due to the fact that I had to work late, go to bed and be back up early for work again. Ugh. Hoping to get back to the game after work!!
