Find me a romance/action series where the romance actually goes places and the show has an ending.

Question

Mouthful of a title, but there you have it folks.

Extreme emphasis on the "romance going places" and "actually having an ending" things.

By "romance going places" I of course mean, that if the show brings up romance, it is to fully go places with it, be it a confession and a response to that confession, a kiss, full relationship, whatever works, just seriously do some romantic progression that doesn't go as far as blushing sometimes and then ending suddenly, with every possible romantic moment getting ruined by some crappy trope.

By "actually having an ending" as simple as that is, I'll explain anyways. I mean that it doesn't cliffhang. Every point that the show brings up should come to a proper conclusion, no loose ends, or at least, nothing important. If they say "We're gonna go kill the demon lord!" well I swear if they don't actually kill that demon lord I'm gonna bash some skulls ('-' )

Anyways, if the show doesn't have both, don't even 'maybe' it, I most likely won't give a damn lol

In all honestly, I'm mostly asking so I know some stuff to dish out on a whim when other people ask for that recommendation, since it's rather common in some other places on the internet where I come from, and turns out I only know a small handful, one of which is a mecha, and those get a ton of hate for no good reason.

But seriously, no 'maybes' e.e If you go "well, this has romance that cliffhangs but it's rly gud!" I will escort you to the door and feed you to my alligators.

Got to go cook dinner but Familiar of Zero immediately comes to mind and hits all marks.  Truthfully, Galaxy Railroad had a good romance intertwined in it too (though not to the finishing degree as Familiar of Zero).

Trigun too had one...though it wasn't much of a romance. I believe Wolfwood and Millie have an alluded to romance with possible bedroom action, but like many anime of it's time you do a lot of assuming...

I believe all 3 of those also have an ending. Will contemplate more...

Completely forgot to add my MAL, thanks for the reminder lol.

Seen Zero, is a good example of what I'm looking for.

Trigun is great, and an offhanded way if making the romance requirement work.

Galaxy Railroad is one I've never seen, but have heard good things about.

Go watch Galaxy Railways. It is quite good. I love it so much.

Another couple popped in my mind. Future Diary the romance ends in tragedy...I am a sucker for tragedy.  Otogi Zoshi did as well (don't watch the modern arc...it sucks).

It was on your MAL list but Cross Ange qualifies. Didn't remember it until I looked at your list.

I have a few for you that you might enjoy.

Ai Yori Aoshi

Fruits Basket

Sonkarea

Those are all very good romance stories that I enjoyed very much. They are short, but have solid endings.

In what way does Sankarea end well? e.e Genuinely curious, post in a spoiler lol.

Thanks for the other two though.

Well is relative here. Sometimes sad endings that make one cry are good tear jerkers.

Tragedies are awesome and far more realistic. No one really "lives happily ever after". Got to die sometime. That made me love Kanon...all kinds of tragic...

Wolf Children to me would not have made such an impact on me emotionally if it hadn't made me full of sorrow. My heart went out to those characters (and not just early in the movie!).

But that wasn't even sad, or a tearjerker e.e It just hits you with a massive plot twist, the biggest I've ever seen in anything, and then cliffhangs right after the fact. Plus the romance went nowhere ('-' )

Well there is revolutionary girl utena, I also heard shakugon no shana is a action romance series i just never watched it even though i own it lol

Utena is an option, I can't see it cliffhanging just because it's an original. Will probably watch it at some point, heard it goes full Evangelion lol.

Shakugan is iffy to me, despite there being romance. I've just heard about there being a lot of meh compared to the bits that are in fact actually good. And while there's romance, it's at the last season, so I'd have to dig through all the iffy stuff to get to it. I may wind up watching it eventually anyways honestly, but, as for right now, I wouldn't say it's overly a priority. Thank you for the recs though.

That is a good point considering its like three seasons and two movies long i think lol Im sorry im not much help I've been trying to look up something to really suggest to you I know gosick had a lot of action moments in it as well as romance i just feel bad gosick is all im talking about lol.

Bodacious Space Pirates had some brief romance moments and a lot of sci fi action, hmm I heard a anime called wild arms is a blend of western style action and romance again another anime i own but havent watched yet lol

There is also to love ru, but its pretty silly throughout, theres date a live but thats pretty silly too something that could have been amazing slapsticked with just harem romance...

Yeaaaaah Gosick is awesome, seen it 4 times, is a solid example of kiiinda what I'm looking for on the romance side of things lol.

Unfortunately I don't think any of those other ones really go anywhere o.o Wild Arms might, but I'd rather play the games I think.

I'd like to give Moribito an honorable mention. Balsa has a romance going on with one character that does develop (he would do anything for her) although she holds him at arm's length. It is highly suggested she intends to return to him at the end after completing her final task (returning her guardian's remains to their homeland). I give it honorable mention because the anime gives you a good view of how they would be as parents together (which I cannot personally think of many others that do anything similar). The desire to hook up is there but her oath takes priority.
