Anime and Otaku Rap Music

Recommended Posts

I have been an avid listener of Anime and Otaku Rap music for about 6 years now. For those who do not know the genre, Anime Rap music is Rap music about or inspired by 1 or 2 Anime. Otaku Rap music is Rap music inspired by Anime and Otaku Culture. Has anyone ever heard any songs from the genre? My favorite artists currently is Chaos Network, Otaku Rapper of Chicago and his team, Team Otaku TrendSetters. I have found out about many Anime from his music and have become very empowered by listening because his music was created perssonally for Otaku and Anime fans and it makes me proud to be one. Here is his music incase you guys want to listen.

Had to remove links, and the video as it contained inappropriate language. Also moved to anime section.

As farr as the subject matter. I have listened to some otaku rap before. Much like regular rap it is not my favorite, but can be good sometimes if the mood is right.

I've never kistened to rappers who do only anime rap, but there are some who either reference anime regularly or make a few songs about anime.

Some rappers of the Midnight Society for example, most notably Original God, some songs of Kamiyada, and Auxxking. But from the Midnight Society, OG is the one who does the most only-anime rap songs, also he raps some parts in japanese sometimes. (F.e. Anime DVDs, House Of Terror or Kizumonogatari) They also often use game/anime soundtracks as samples for their songs (OG has one song were he uses the sample of a nightcore song for his metal song, or for one song he uses the scream of a girl from what I think is a hentai as sample >.< Weir, but definitely creative) but most of their songs are very agressive, so if you don't like that...

Then there's Maxxkii who probably is more of an otaku rapper with songs like Obito's Pain, or Kid Goku.

Then there's Okaminokami, who does a few anime themed songs here and there, and Scarlxrd often takes the voices of anime clips for the intro of a song or puts them before his the last part (like in 'King, Scar' or 'fxour/AM') but he's overall a scream rappers with a punk and metal background with very agressive songs who references anime here and there, so if you don't like that...

XavierWolf has, If I remember correctly, several songs about anime, mostly about Inital D.

I'm definitely going to check out the ones you mentioned!

I've listened to a few songs by Maxxkii. How long has he been producing music. Honestly the only Japanese rap of any form that I heard apart from Maxxkii is a ending in the Sonic X anime. Though I'd like to know more about it.

Sorry about that. There are clean versions of those songs. Is it alright to link them for the others?

You can link them if they are clean (in language) and you are intending to talk about them.  Generally, linking to advertise a youtube channel or linking inappropriate content would be prohibited.  I think since you are talking about them, you shouldn't have an issue.  Link away!  Though you might want to only link one or two at first to focus the discussion.

Its all good I did not think your intent was to break any rules on purpose so thats why I just removed them. :) I look forward to whatever songs you swap them with long as they are clean :)

Yeah I wanted to talk to the rest of the community about it. I feel it is crazy how this genre is for us but we do not know of it.

I certainly is interesting music to be sure. I am not much into Rap even American perhaps especially American, but I did do a bit of digging, and like Jpop, and Kpop this genre is actually quite popular from what I've found.

      Title: Say What you Want
      ♥♥♥
I said you could drown if you wanted to,
drown in my love, I don't got a clue,
say what you want, but please,
      please don't forget the view.

Oh yes I cried when you walked right out the room,
and I tried but its just too much to sweep, with just one broom.
So say what you want, I don't got a clue,
      I don't understand what you're meaning to,
do to me, I can see, who you are, who you'll be,
and I know you'll be with me,
      as I'm with you...

So say what you want, I don't got a clue,
drown in my love, yes I'm beggin' you,
soar like a dove if you're meaning to,
but I know who you will be,
and you'll end up with me,
you sweet thing you, yeah, its true,
      you'll end up with me,
come on, you know it too,
      you'll end up... with me.
      ♥♥♥

Love you guys, hope you enjoyed this cute little poem!
      Note:
I was Thinking it would sound really good as a song sung is kind of a folk-song way, I would love to sing it sometime but I am not a very good singer; if I practice maybe I can do it someday, gotta learn how to play guitar too as I think it'd sound better on Guitar than piano (my current instrument of my choice).

Any genre and suggest how many you want, as long as it’s from 2020.

Bonus points if it’s from indie artist(s)!

I’m really into darksynth/retrowave, so here’s three of my heavy rotations from this year of 2020:

Mirror by Dimitri De Alencar - dark synth, heavy, “Wall Street Hyenas” is fantastic!

Virtuaverse.ost by MBR - another dark synth album that could well be a soundtrack for a cyberpunk game!

Electric Heart by Roxi Drive - a great Retrowave album from a great singer!

Hi, so I'm new to this kind of stuff but yeah. I need help searching for covers to songs that are in the anime Grisaia No Kajitsu. I'm helping a friend out with his DDLC mod FotLC, and he is in need of the covers of Apple Clash, Deadlock, Dog Days, Grape Drops, In The Air, Kasabuta, Katzusoko, Mayoi no mori, and Warratte Itakute. All officially made by Junpei Fuj. He cannot release the final Chapter until he has these covers. Please help, I'm legit like scouring the internet in search of the covers. Some help would be most appreciated.

      Senki Zesshou Symphogear

This is one of Japan's top selling anime, with 5 seasons, over the course of the past 7 years. Season 3 was #1 in sales for its season, while season 4 was ALSO #1 in sales for its season. AND season 3 beat ONE PUNCH MAN for the ENTIRE YEAR. And it isn't popular in the absolute bloody slightest outside of Japan.

      I'm confused too, don't worry.

But if you want one of the best hype action shows of the decade, Symphogear is for you. It does damn near everything that people love about shounen action shows, except it does them far better than most actual shounens, despite Symphogear not actually being a shounen.

AND it's a fucking musical. Didn't see that coming, did you.

It ain't cutesy, it lives off of the rule of cool and more or less can't go more than 5 minutes without something exploding or it dies, with music that's about as cool as that whole concept is.

Watch this scene, and witness our beloved main character parry tank shells with her bare fists.

      Watch Order:
Symphogear (a bit rough, don't judge the show based on this season. Still good, just not peak Symphogear.)
Symphogear G (This is where Symphogear actually starts to shine, and it stays that way. A shitty side studio fucked up the first season, so they fired them and swapped out 90% of the staff and you're left with a season that's vastly superior to the first in absolutely every god damn way you could ever expect. Get. To. This. Season.)
Symphogear GX (It got even prettier.)
Symphogear AXZ (The animation got better.)
Symphogear XV (Airing right now, and is really turning out to be a proper culmination and finale of 7 years of a franchise.)

      OOOOO

Now that you've been so heartily informed of the best show ever, I'd love to hear what any of you think of it. First impressions based on this thread maybe, or impressions from you going to watch it! It's my favourite show by a mile, so I assure you I'm more than willing to chat your ear off about it, and if you aren't impressed by it... well, leave it to me
