Pretty much all about family. Me, my sister & her family (hubby & kids) had dinner at my sister in law’s place last night & then all spent the afternoon at my sister’s today. Reminiscing, holiday movies & eating. Got my sister & nephews on board to go to Spiderman Far from Home over New Year’s weekend. Brother in law is still an undecided 🤨
Of course being a huge comic book nerd from the 70s through the 90s (Spiderman & Xmen in particular) I had to see it opening weekend. Fortunately ran into some folks that although strangers turned out to be kindred spirits and enjoy some nerd talk IRL for a change. Peace on Earth, Good Will to Mankind indeed (and I’ll throw in an “Excelsior” for good measure) 🤣

    Hope you enjoyed yourself man!

  2. When coming back to Death Note the Anime has plenty of likeable characters. Although, I have to choose 2 because I just can't choose 1.

Ryuk for my first choice. Around his character, you find a likeable sense when you see his comedic side, and not only that, I enjoy everything EDGY so the Shinigamis are the winner in the top 2.

And for my 2nd, it has to be Lawliet...as...basic as that sounds. But he is quite the charmer, with his smarts and his ways of thinking you just can't help but develop a love for someone so...mysterious. So that's my very short reasonings on why I love the characters I picked. :D

  3. Well, here are my current hobbies

    • Writing
    • Drawing
    • Coding/Programming
    • Computer Science Studies
    • CSICO Networking (It's a Career Tech for my High School)
    • Creating Manga storyboards
    • Watching Anime
    • Studying
    • The Forums (obviously)

That's about all I can think about from the top of my head. I'm currently a Art student studying in Animation and Graphic Design. But I wanna take up studying in Coding/Programming in Javascript and Python possibly even C++. Then Computer science. I also spend lots of my time on the Forums, so...that's another easy hobby.

Yeah Evangelion is pretty much a stable in anime culture. Wolfs Rain and Blue Gender are less well known but came about during that Adult Swim period. I think Blue Gender is 1999 and Wolf Rain was 2003 or 04. But despite them not being as well known (okay Blue Gender is nearly completely unknown) they are pretty good. Have you watched much anime from 00s to 10s?

I have watched plenty of Animes from the 00's to the 10's, Like samurai champloo, blood+ and so on. I have more, but we'd be here awhile if I was to list them all. I haven't heard of Blue Gender though, I will take a look at that!

You mentioned in another threat you like Scfi, have you ever checked out Evangelion. That was a 90s show, and might be up your street. Its only 26 episodes plus a film. Other than that there's a few adult swim shows that have a distinct 90s vibe to say they were made in the 00s; that would be Wolf Rain and Blue Gender and possibly Black Lagoon.

Yes I have checked out Evangelion! It's great, and I absolutely love it. I have heard of Black Lagoon, I've been wanting to watch it, it's on my list. And the others you recommended i'll take a look at B)

Cowboy Bebop, Death Note and... Naruto?

Odd combination sure but then again I watched shows ranging from Monster to The Humanoid.

    So I can't really judge

My father is a odd one :P he really showed me the shows he enjoyed, but as I grew up I developed a love for 90's animes, and more classics than anything

  7. It all started back in 2010.

Me and my dad were sitting on the couch, little 5 year old me was getting ready for school. He showed me the world of anime. What anime to be exact? Cowboy Bebop. He showed me more anime like Naruto, Death Note and so on. That's my little story, i'm 16 now, and i've been watching anime since then! :P

I got a bunch of 90s anime to watch after Christmas; Trigun, Outlaw Star and Cowyboy Beebop. I might also rewatch Eva, because I've only watched the series and the film 'End of Evangelion' once.

Highly recommend both Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop, they are both awesome,  I think you'll like them. Space Opera animes are the bomb

Thanks man, currently been watching Blue Gender and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Don't know why but early 2000s anime is usually my favourite stuff.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is great, i'm currently obsessed with 90's animes.

Welcome to the Forum, I'm new here too but unlike you I'm also an Anime Noobie, been getting into it since the first lockdown, about just over a year ago (perfect time really, as I had nothing else to do).

Well there is a lot of anime to enjoy (and also to hate) but good luck on your Anime journey :) !!
