  1. ...I have been gone from this forums for awhile, though I never been super active on it but now...I doubt I will even be active. Where did the sections go? What this the forums are just one large cluster f*ck of new threads and a search bar for general forums. Order is nice, this chaos isn't. Why was it changed? Everything else about the forums are nice, and orderly, and now this...if there is a way to say sections once again, please tell me and I'll apologize for this. If not it's not like I've missed much as it where.

I enjoyed the sections more so, easy, far easier to navigate then this.

  2. ...it may be a bit over the top to start a whole new thread for something like this, on the old forum I was on, they allowed a bit of a stray in topic but if it went to far they'd delete the off topic posts. Well I guess I need to get use to this now xD.

  3. Sorry I didn't read your post, but I get the gist of things from your title. This is a very deep question actually but each has valor to it.

I for one follow logic and reason, but really all three of these are mixed in. Some things are right to do, yet you know you may get hurt, an example is if you lie or cover for your brother--yes I do have a brother and I have covered for his messes before. The only thing that doesn't fit in as much is instinct because an instinct is something which can only happen at that one moment. How do you live by instinct? Only if you have short term memory lost is that truly possible from my point of view, only if you are are able to live within that single moment of life. But past experiences will get in the way of things, and thus it's truly impossible to truly live in the moment. To live by instinct alone.

As you can see I went logical here and how I live is by logic. But as I said it's a deep, and hard question to accurately answer, even if you do live by one of the other two.

  4. For me, here's the thing, profanity can be a part of the story, yet if the curse is placed wrong, or doesn't flow with the rest of the context, it's obvious. A good example I have is while reading--I hardly if not ever read anymore now a days. But in the last Harry Potter book, Ron's mother calls someone a "bitch" and besides that it is in capital letters. I hate reading capital letters in a book, it's more out of place than anything but even the context felt off and brought me out of the immersion of the story. A good example I can give for where profanity works is Grand Torino, it's a great movie and I do suggest it. Rated R for a lot of profanity.

  5. There are gems here and there but now a days, no effort is put into a story, and if there is effort they usually edit out key scenes of the story. They are good, but not comparable to movies of old.

  6. Saw Wonder Woman today and I loved it. Gotta say that the DCEU is blowing the Marvel EU out of the water. Personally I always liked DC over Marvel, but then again I hate those comic books because of how damn long they've been around. We really need to move on from them. But I loved it, probably the best one they've made.

  7. Well besides me personally wanting Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou, I do find it a bit annoying that every time I click Anime Forums up in the corner to go back to the main page of the forums, that my selected Waifu appears welcoming me. It's a great feature, I just wish there was some kind of delay when she would appear, such as if I hope on for the day she'd appear once, and in 24 hours she would appear again. What I'm asking for is a delay, it's up to you what that delay should be, maybe a day and night cycle, at night she'll say good evening and in the morning, good morning.

  8. I wouldn't call them tropes, but I am tired of seeing/hearing them clear their throats before speaking, that "kawf" noise as well as clicking their tongue. I'm not a big fan of tsundere characters either. I'm game for everything else...besides weak male leads, they're usually the worst, sadly I have no examples off hand of a good weak male lead.

  9. As someone said in another topic...

Nah, I'm just kidding. I think your name is cute, and your avatar is actually a good example of this topic. Now, my only question is... Did you name yourself Moe with the intent to be cute or is it an accident of circumstances?

My username from years ago was Mo'Steel but was shorten to Mo and I just added the E because I love cute things.

  10. Actually I do have a few questions. I saw in the RP section about swearing and violence. What are tolerable amounts or rather what would this site be rated if it was a movie, or game? The last forum I was on was a PG-13 type of site. But the rules were relaxed on the whole swearing part.

  11. Hallo. Welcome to the forums.

    Questions? Ask away!

I do hope you enjoy your time here.

    See ya around

The site is pretty self explanatory, and my political question was already answered, so I doubt I have anymore currently.

  12. I actually wrote up a review for this on MAL. Thing is I dropped this anime an episode or two ago. All thing were promising the first episode but from there it went downhill pretty quickly.

My review for those who'd like to read it.

Probably my 4th review, and boy did this anime become a let down quickly. Don't get me wrong, the premise is a great idea, but the execution is poor with Re: Creators. Episode 1 is promising, but from there it falls into cliche valley.

What began it's descent from a really, really good anime, which I saw a different review suggestion this could be a classic--which I find a joke--is I think the second episode which provided us a theory as to why everything is happening.

This theory was poorly placed because the characters from the anime worlds were just introduced and with no evidence supporting the theory, yet with all logical reasoning behind it, I couldn't accept it. A few episodes later we do get that evidence but it's already ruined my immersion.

Another aspect where it falls short is the random introductions, and the sudden stops in fights when the fights are possibly the best parts of the anime, paired with the music, it's all but flawless, but they are stopped for no reason other then the theory which provide the reason but to avoid spoilers I won't get into it.

If the theory came about correctly, after evidence was provided, I could accept it, but there's more that plagues this anime. And it could be personal preferences but that's for you to decide.

The main character--I don't know if it's a culture thing, but he is weak. Sota later hides stuff, and it feels like a plot point drawing out, but there is no reason other then his own pride or something that he's hiding the information when it's need. That's why I say it's a plot point, just something to drag the plot on. It's not suspenseful if that is what they are trying for, it's just poor writing.

Going along with that, the characters are also pretty sub par, and paired with the rather great dialogue, it's ironic that they want to try to have a good story, but are unable to.

Overall, it's a nice anime to watch, but not a good one, and nowhere near a classic. I'll give it credit where it's good but if a story is bad, it's not going to be good. Art is great, Sound is fantastic, the rest, poor. See it as you'd like but know that I find this series lacking.

Update Note: Began episode 9 and it just made a mess of itself. No point for me to continue to watch it and I probably should have dropped it long before now.

  13. Clannad: ~After Story~

Changed my life big time, not sure what since so many years have past since then, but it still gives me the feels every time I see a clip from it.

    Gurren Lagann

Need I say more than "my drill is the drill that will create the heavens."

I like to tell stories and I do so though writing, with the aim of changing this world for the better. I have nothing published yet but I live by that saying.

  14. Hi there, and welcome to AF. This forum is a little on the small side compared to some, but we generally make up for it by providing a welcoming, light hearted, and enjoyable place for our members. I look forward to seeing you around. ^^

Given the fact that political (as well as religious) things generally spiral out of hand on the internet, leading to little in the way of productive or otherwise meaningful conversation, they're actually discouraged in our community guidelines, I'm afraid. :)

A minor detail, but something worth keeping in mind!

That's why I said it's for the best.

Well I shall make myself at home, I'll post some of my writing and go from there. Thanks for the warm welcome.

  15. So, a bit of backstory for me, want to make sure I have found a good place to discuss Anime, share my writing, and even a bit of politics--a quick scan and there seems to be no Current Events sections like there was on the past forum I was apart of. Probably for the best. Either way I'm enjoying this site way more. I hope the mods and community are just as fun.

    Here is My Anime List.

I am an avid writer, although I far more enjoy editing and prefer to call myself a storyteller, I do still write and will probably share a lot of the drafts I have done. I do want to be published one day.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy what I have to offer, and I will enjoy myself here. I hope to be here a long time, the past forum, SC which I was apart of since 2009 went to ruins.

Oh, and I do have RP ideas to share if anyone is interested.
