    Hello Friends!!!

Hello! You can call me Neuro or Raven! I'm a newb sort of, I was a HUGE anime fan when I was 12-15 but I stopped watching because of my friends drifting away from it. I'm now 21 and I really want to get back into it! I dont normally shy away from any type of anime, my particular favorites are Gore, Horror, Romance (straight or gay of either Gender) anything cute! I'm not too into pure action or Loli's (that are shown as sexy) But I'm usually up for anything! I'm also really interested in making friends! please only be 18+ as I feel really weird talking to people under 18 as I'm 21! ^w^ please understand I don't hate you its just kind of weird! I also love RPing so if you want to RP just hit me a message and a RP theme! again I'm down for mostly anything! Thanking for reading my ramble, and it's a pleasure to be here!
  2. You see... Im just a lonely bitch who is bored asf. Ffs like what do you expect me to do when everyone on discord decides to ignore me? I hate one piece.

    Hello everyone!

Hi! My name is Lee, I am 24 years old and from Germany. My first anime was FMA:B which I still absolutely love, but besides Kill la Kill (which I also still like a lot), I couldn't really get into any other anime shows. That was until almost 2 years ago, when I rediscovered my love for anime with Cowboy Bebop, Madoka Magica and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I've been watching anime and reading manga regularly ever since. I'd love to talk more about anime and manga, but don't know any people who enjoy them in real life. The MAL Forums and /r/anime aren't really great places to have discussions (imho), so I hope this forum will be different! My favorites which I'd consider masterpieces are: Madoka Magica, Cowboy Bebop, Monster and Ping Pong The Animation. As for manga, I really loved Onanie Master Kurosawa and I'm a big fan of the Kaiji series (though I will probably take a break after the One Poker-hen ends). If we're talking Visual Novels, I only read one so far and it is now one of my absolute favorite pieces of media: Umineko When They Cry. I also like D&D and Star Trek, which are probably my biggest passions right now. If you wanna chat about any of those (or something else completely), or have any questions you wanna ask, feel free to do so! I am currently watching a lot from this season, but I plan to dial it back a little bit after that. My PTW on MAL is rather big, even after I got rid of a lot of stuff... and I want to reduce the size of my Dropped-list too, by giving stuff a second chance.

    Just to say hi!

Hey guys! Dan here. I just signed up. Looking for new people to talk with. I'm a fairly new anime watcher (in the last year or so) and after going off of most TV shows because they're all pretty awful now, so anime is beginning to replace them. I started with Death note and since then have watched FMA: Brotherhood, Tokyo Ghoul, Elfen Lied, My Hero Academia, Castlevania, Attack on Titan, Kakegurui, Made in Abyss, and most recently, Steins;Gate (which i think is my favourite so far). I also play loads of videogames, and am English, if that's of interest to anyone!

    VPKairi - An Introduction

Since I just joined, it's only tradition to make an introduction post, so here it is. :3 Hello everyone! I'm VPKairi or VPK for short. I was born July 3, 1992 in the south coast of Alabama. The first time I ever joined an anime forum was when I was 5. It was the official Sailor Moon one, back when it was popular in the 90's. Sailor Moon was also my first anime series. My father was a video game programmer and an artist, so I was introduced to anime and video games when I was 3. He made me all kinds of games for me to learn colors, how to read, etc. My favorite anime back in the day were Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. I liked Pokemon so much that I had my entire room decorated with it. Pokemon bedspread, curtains, toys, stuffed animals..I even had a huge Pikachu pillow that was the size of my whole body! I also was a huge Yu-Gi-Oh card collector in my early elementary/middle school years and joined two tournaments back in my home town. I didn't win either of them, but it was super fun. When I was 12, our school had a book event that I went to, and I bought my first ever manga: Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne. I'd go to B.A.M. every time a new volume was released to buy it straight away. That manga inspired me to start seriously drawing the manga I had started when I was 8. I had already been drawing realistically since my dad had been teaching me techniques on pencil art and coloring with colored pencils, pastels, and paints. Being a fan of anime/manga got me bullied in school a lot. I also got bullied for my drawing skill as well. I was told I traced and kids would push me to draw things in front of them to prove that I wasn't lying. Foolishly, I'd fall into the trap, and if something came out not anatomically correct because I had no reference photos, I'd get made fun of even worse than before. I also had issues when I went to bookstores to buy manga. The general readers laying/sitting on the floor would stare until finally asking me "are you buying that for someone else?" I would always say no, I was buying it for myself. Then their eyes would widen and say I didn't look like the type to read manga. I'm glad anime/manga has become more accepted now than back then. A lot of anime/manga stories can be phenomenal, especially the artwork. I didn't have many friends in school, if any. To the "preps," I was too much of an "outcast," and to the "outcasts," I was "too preppy." I was mostly a loner, only hung in a group so I wouldn't be alone. I learned being alone only made you a target for getting picked on, so in high school I tried to never let that happen. I was that kid that was in the group and never really said much. During free time, while everyone else was talking and acting out, I would be reading or drawing/scripting for my comic. The comic was called Dark Matters and took me 7 years to complete. I also made a novel based on it and would post chapters to anime forums, which people seemed to enjoy. A month after graduating high school, I was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer. I ended up having to quit the Miss USA pageant I had worked my butt off getting sponsors for and was out nearly $10k. My aspirations in life dwindled day by day. I thought to myself that I would never be able to get a job with my health being how it was, and the pageant was going to be my way of going to college, which I felt was swiped from me. I also had no money for cancer treatment either, so I was stuck taking vitamins and having small procedures done to try and slow down the process. Out of boredom, I started reposting Dark Matters on forums, and it actually ended up helping me. While playing Black Ops on PS3, I got a message from someone asking if I was the same person from a forum that had wrote Dark Matters. When I said yes, I was offered a video game journalism job for a PlayStation based website. After 2 weeks of thinking on it, I took the job. I helped create the website layout, wrote articles, became the Editor-in-Chief, and eventually was promoted to Media Manager. That journalism job opened up other opportunities, until E3 2013, where I was given my biggest job. I quit journalism and started working full time in the game industry. My family thought I was following my dad's footsteps, but I was doing it on my own accord. It was my passion to draw, and video games happened to be one of my favorite hobbies. After beating cancer in 2015, I cut all ties with the video game industry and joined Ministry School. Since I had already been doing Sunday teaching, it didn't take me long to become a minister. After 4 months, I was on stage and out in service. It wasn't until nearly 2016 that I decided that wasn't the right path for me. Helping people was nice, but I needed to be out on my own, away from my parents to do what I wanted, to have freedom. So just like that, I quit and moved out the next day, 6 hours away. After a few months of living in northern Alabama, I moved again to Texas. And then in 2017, I moved to southern California, which is where I currently reside. I took on basic cashier and electronics jobs to get where I am now. I now have less than 2 months of art school left and have been studying animation design. My current job is concept and character design. I got this job from a person I met on FF14. I've had so many coincidental encounters while playing video games, which is funny to me. With my free time, I've been working on remaking my old comic since my skills are now well rounded than before. Hopefully will have my first official book done by the end of this year. I say hopefully because knowing me and my procrastination, it could take decades if I allowed it. Anywho, this intro has become quite longer than I anticipated. So below is just a template I've created in case you don't want to read any of this. I hope we can become friends! ^^ Username: VPKairi or VPK Gender: Female Age: 25 Favorite Anime: Sailor Moon, Hellsing, Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, .hack//Sign Music: Piano, violin, classical, electronic, rock (mostly everything except most country and my favs are electronic/rock) Video Game Platforms: PS2, PS3, PS4, Nintendo, SNES, Xbox 360, PC (mostly play PS4) Favorite Video Games: FFX, .hack// series, Borderlands series, DDR series, Miku series

    Hey my fellow Otaku

Hey guy's ^_^, my name is Marti, I'm 21 years old. I am like you passionate about the world of anime. For my part, this passion came to me at the age of 6 with manga and at 10 with the arrival of streaming sites. I decided recently to start my own YouTube channel under the name "The Animetuber". My main motivation for my channel is not to collect views but rather to use it as a base to spread my knowledge, views and opinions, with people who share my passion. This channel is fuelled by a new video every week on various anime related topics. Here's the link : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClncE-8x36uxxEq-jCKId9g Here's my Twitter : https://twitter.com/TheAnimetuber Don't hesitate to post a review on my page, talk to me on Twitter , or even subscribe to my channel so that we can talk and share our common passion. Thanx in advance. The Animetuber.
  15. Harisu-chan

    Okatus Unite!

Greetings! I don't know how to say goodnight in Japanese without implying that I am going to sleep, so let's just leave it at that. My favorite anime is Lucky Star, and I might be a bit too into it... Kona-chan is my backround/lockscreen for every device... And my keyboard... Moving on, I am asexual but identify as panromantic, meaning I feel romantic attraction towards everyone regardless of sex or gender. However, this only occurs under specific conditions. This happens when someone is sweet, otaku, and carefree. This also only happens when I am asthetically attracted to them. These conditions include being moe, so kowaii ;3, having an otaku personality, having long colored hair, and usually wearing a school uniform. Basically only Anime, but I like it that way. Naturally, Kona-chan (Konata Izumi) is the perfect waifu for me. She causes cute aggression (something is so cute you want to hug it) in me and just makes me feel great. ~Doki doki~ Anyway, enough about my waifu. I enjoy Anime because of its story and kawaii characters. I don't care for the sexual appeal. That's why I am disappointed when a friend says they like Anime, but they only watch hentai. I tend to get little sleep on school nights and stay up really late watching Anime, then sleep for eight hours on the weekend and feel like I slept uncomfortably late. I have motivation issues and maintain A's and B's with rare studying. I have more Mid-terms tomorrow, but I devoted my studh time to Nightcore and Anime instead. This is one of the reasons I relate with Kona-chan so much. I am Otaku, and even though I love the idea of college and physics, I'll let my grades handle that. I can't save for college when there are so many collectibles, games, and posters to buy! I have obsessive compulsive tendencies that I am going to therapy for soon, and I also need someone unbiased to talk to. Some of these tendencies include obsessing over small things and maybe staying up all night... I like a lot of games, Anime, and books, auch as: Pokemon, Dragon Ball (Z, S), (obviously) Lucky Star, SAO (ik dont't cringe I like tbe concept the story could have been better), SAO 2, Charlotte, Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, Boku no Hero Academia, Doki Doki Lit. Club, WoW, SWTOR, Aura Kingdoms, LotR, Zelda games, Naruto (manga), AoT (manga), Pokemon (Anime and manga), Amulet (graphic novels)... Hundreds more! I don't mind being called a Weeb or a Weaboo by people, because it is kind of true. I am Otaku and I eat Japanese food, my mannerisms are Japanese, I know a good bit of Hiragana and words, and I am intrigued by Eastern religion. Anyway, I should probably go now. I look forward to seeing you all around. Sayonara!

    New member signing in…

Hallo! I go by my moniker “Prohyas”. I hope you wouldn’t think about that cartoon about magical swords [being] aired on Cartoon Network. I had this moniker way before the show must’ve even been planned to be made. But I digress. I’m a high school student, story writer—Adventure and Fantasy are my cup of tea. I love music, movies, [obviously…] Anime [… ‘tis why I signed up to this forum]—manga/manhwa, TV shows/OVAs, films, etc. I’m a friendly guy, I really am. I’m hoping to make friends here in the forum. If there are more questions you’d like to ask about me, feel free to do so! I don’t bite. And it is the purpose of threads, right?
  18. Tonko

    Anime newbie joining

Hello there! I joined these forums a few minutes ago, and wanted to present myself ^^ My nickname if Tonko, and I am new at anime. I love cats, videogames, and computers in general. How it all started I started watching Anime many years ago, with Pokemon. But I didn't even know what Anime was; I got seriously into japanese animation this year. On April, I watched Howl's Moving Castle, and I loved it. I then watched some more Studio Ghibli films. A few months ago, my friends were into Anime; It was the birthday of one of them, and I had no idea what to get for him, so I got into a manga store and bought the first I saw. It was Fullmetal Alchemist. Some days after I gave it to my friend, he told me that he was watching the Brotherhood series, and I started watching it too. I loved it. Then, the same friend told me to watch Charlotte. Also loved it. Some time later, I bought the first Danganronpa manga. Inmediatly after paying for it, I realized it was the Argentine Spanish version of it. Simply horrible. Read it anyway, and liked it enough to watch the anime. It was fantastic. Now, I am watching Princess Principal, and I am loving it so far. More about me I am a boy I live in Argentina (South America) My favorite anime genre is Historical If you ever ask me about my favorite animal, my answer will be always cats I do like videogames, however, my wallet cannot handle all of them. Well, that was it, I hope we all have a good time together ^^ -Tonko
  19. Vivi Hyuuga

    Kon'nichiwa

Hello, everyone! I look forward to getting to know you and finding more people to share my love of anime with. In my personal life I do have a couple friends and two of my sisters into anime, however, none of them are as into it as me so I've been wanting to find a place where I fit in with other people who have the same passion as me and where we can discuss it to our hearts' content. I want to be able to talk about it without someone giving me a blank stare or without feeling as if I have to pull them along to watch an amazing anime. Some random bits about me: I'm in my early twenties I have pet hedgehogs I'm chronically ill I'm an artist You can find out more about what kinda anime I'm into on my profile and how I got into anime. Anyways, nice to meet you!
  20. RyePotatoes

    RyePotatoes VS. Yuojo Senki

So the RyePotatoes VS. *insert anime names/ anime events/ etc.* Series is a series of blog entries containing my First Impressions and detailed reviews on certain animes This blog entry is intended to help AF's users to atleast get a bird's eye view of the anime that is being featured without worrying about spoilers! Arigatou Gozaimasu for reading! Link of Yuojo Senki on MAL (just in case you'll feel like reading the synopsis) ---------------------------> https://myanimelist.net/anime/32615/Youjo_Senki First Impressions Judging from the photo that I saw on MAL, I was already having second thoughts on whether I would like the anime or not because of the way it was drawn. (Yes, I'm very picky when it comes to drawings and graphics). For me, the Main Character was kind of weird having a very serious face with a small body attached to it so I was kinda having my own biases already just judging from the Photos. I thought the anime would seriously just be about Wars and smart tactical ideas from the Main Character. I kind of expected the Main Character to be different from other Main characters since she was already described in MAL as the "Devil of the Rhine" so I did expect some malevolent action coming from here and there. Hmmm, I did expect a not so happy ending though because I've been having a bucket full of Happy endings from the recent animes that I have recently watched. I noticed that the anime only have 12 episodes so I kinda expected it to be a Cliffhanger cause come on, nobody ends a war within 12 episodes with just 24 minutes each! What the Anime Really was So the anime graphics was not a problem. I actually loved the graphics and how the anime was drawn. (Lesson learned: Don't judge an anime by it's cover) The opening song totally shouts evil in every beat, I felt eagerness laid on every note and kind of imagined bloodstains, gun powders and loud gunshots just by listening to the opening theme song. (Maybe I'm too imaginative? ) The main character was indeed evil in her own ways and was kind of different from other superiors you'll ever see in other animes. I mean, who would think about a subtle approach of killing your subordinates after not following your commands? Yes, that's how evil she is. The development of the Main Characters were also featured in the story and anime viewers will also see the humor and irony of having a female child in a war environment. What differentiates this anime from other war animes is that the anime is set in a 1700s kind of war with not so modernized guns and canons mixed with magic and flying armies.
