  1. Optic's post in Updating email was marked as the answer
Hi @matsu, this has been adjusted so you can update your email address now. We had to temporarily disable that ability due to a previous SPAM incident.
  2. Optic's post in [Vote] Do you want a Live Chat Box? was marked as the answer
    Hi @Illusion of Terra
    Thanks for the feedback.
Our main focus is on the forum discussion areas. So at this time we're not considering any official live chat groups / chat boxes. We did have a few in the past but they drastically increased our moderation workload and also split the community between the forum posters and chatters - not an inherently bad thing but currently we are a rather small community.
We're not completely ruling it out, they might return as the community grows.
  3. Optic's post in Name change requests (archive - use Member Shop instead) was marked as the answer
Hi there, I've now actioned your name change request.
This thread was before we had the Shop, so there was a grace period to transition the requests.
From this point on, everyone else will need to use the Shop now.
  4. Optic's post in AF Icon was marked as the answer
Hi @Greeneyes - I have now added the appropriate icons so it should show up in all browsers and mobile devices.
  5. Optic's post in Merging replies was marked as the answer
    Hi @Greeneyes,
Yes I have noticed this too (especially within the messaging system). I will forward the feedback to the developers of this platform.
For now I have reduced the threshold of posts being merged to 2 hours (before it was 24 hours).
  6. Optic's post in Pinned Topics was marked as the answer
Hi @Estatia, feedback noted. @Wedgy described the current correct behaviour.
We can adjust it so pinned topics appear across ALL areas but this would quickly become overwhelming as it would quickly make the first  page on the homepage very overwhelming if there are too many "global pinned topics"
I agree having pinned topics had more effect when the forums were all in individual pages.
As topics are also appearing across from Clubs now this would be even more overwhelming.
  7. Optic's post in AF Theme was marked as the answer
    Hi @Greeneyes and @Frith
Sorry I missed this during my absence.
The challenge with background image themes is everyone is using a mix of desktops, mobiles and tablet devices. The first Sci-Fi theme you were referring to I believe was the very first theme, however that approach was quite glitchy hence the reason why we changed to this framework.
The transparent background image approach I felt was the best way to make it look good across all devices.
I can look into making a darker plain theme without a background image if it helps?
  8. Optic's post in Idea - anime identification section? was marked as the answer
Hi @DevoidReaper yes as mentioned above we already have Recommendations/Identify as a separate section. Having said that, it easily gets swamped and can be hard to find older recommendations and identify requests in there.
I am certainly open to ideas to help improve it.
  9. Optic's post in Shop - own items/services to sell? was marked as the answer
Sorry for the late reply to this.
@Greeneyes currently on this platform, only I can create custom items which are shown in the global shop. You can't self-manage your own shop and items like on the old platform. If you like I can look at adding items/services as custom items for you, let me know which services you would like to offer.
Tweaking and re-branding the shop items is still on my list of things to do.
  10. Optic's post in Forum theme was marked as the answer
    Hi @Greeneyes,
It's a new default theme with different selectable background images, see here for details:
If you don't like it you can change it back to "Anime Forums Megami" on the lower left corner of the page.
  11. Optic's post in One account per user rule? was marked as the answer
Hi @Waifu, please don't make duplicate accounts. We as a community want to engage with the real you, not an alter ego!
If you have a sibling / sharing the same house/apartment let me know and we can come to an arrangement.
  12. Optic's post in Signatures was marked as the answer
    Hi @Greeneyes
It's a balance of making sure the signature is not larger than the header, we also have less width because the postbit is now on the left hand side of your posts.
On the previous system it was the browser that scaled the height automatically (but the original image was still being downloaded in full)
Can you attach your signature image here so I can review it? I may be able to make some adjustments to accommodate.
  13. Optic's post in Advertisement threads was marked as the answer
Hi @RepentantSky I have been spam cleaning them on a daily basis, if I have missed any please don't hesitate to use the Report link as I get an instant email notification for reports.
Having said that, I will be reviewing our guidelines regarding advertising. Currently we only allow it in the forums inside Creative Corner if you've reached 10 posts but we are getting a lot of people just ignoring that.
  14. Optic's post in Image height overflowing in post was marked as the answer
All good! I THOUGHT we hammered out the editor for image uploads on the test site using copy and paste of the image in clipboard and copy and paste of the image URL but didn't consider drag and drop.
I'll make a note of this and test this again in future.
For now just copy and paste via clipboard or just copy and paste the image URL (in Chrome for example it's called the image address).
  15. Optic's post in Introductions was marked as the answer
    Hi @GreenEyes ,

When you join AF you do get a welcome message which does include a link to Introduce yourself.

But yes will consider looking at ways to make it more obvious (maybe a gentle notice or prompt) until you make your first post.
  16. Optic's post in A Media Gallery for Digital/Anime or Otherwise Art? was marked as the answer
    Hi @Sidney B\. Gone,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

We used to have a Gallery for fanworks, It was initially seeded with various fanworks from around the web (with full credit given to the original authors) and a few members did use it to submit their own works... but usage really dropped to the point where it was better to focus on other areas.

I do believe the existing platforms out there on the web do a much better job at showcasing your art than a forum gallery would.. and you are of course very welcome to continue showcasing in Creative Corner or adding a link to your channel(s) in your profile and signature.

Long term we might be bringing in the ability to allow members to have their own blogs. That would probably be the next best thing.
