In the late 80s as a young kid I remember watching an anime film which really captivated me, I'm watching Terra Willy with my kids and it reminded me of it but I don't think I ever knew the name of it and a Google search of the plot came up with nothing.
The film follows a young girl and her family travelling along the surface of a lush alien world in a giant car which had its wheels on long legs so that the chassis rode up high above the vegetation. Something then went wrong with the vehicle and the little girl has to survive on her own on the alien world. She meets and befriends an alien which looked like a little dinosaur, but the friend then dies and she's alone again. I forget how it ends.
Anyone have any ideas?
