The Question: Bi-Directional comic / manga hybrid

Does something like this exist? - Western comics are read from left to right - Mangas are read from right to left So you could take a comic and a manga, and glue them together. Each side tells a different story, and in the middle, both stories meet. The comic side could be about a European travelling to Japan, vice versa for the Manga side. They'd meet at a stop of the Trans-Siberian Railway.

I have to admit I don't know much about Anime or Manga. Only some of the better-known ones, like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Battle Angel Alita, Ranma 1/2, Heidi... (I grew up with European comics and cartoons) The main reason I registered here is to ask a question the fine folks over at MyAnimeList couldn't answer.
