If you know an anime please send me the name or the episode.

Pokemon was also my starting point. later I had heard of Yu-Gi-Oh!, but back then I never really got in to it. Instead I watched Digimon and the 2003 re-make of Astro Boy.

It was really good up until the point where they released only fillers for months. Then I just quit.

Cyan, azure or just straight up blue. Post who your favorite character from a series is that has blue hair.

Torche from Monster Hunter Flash Hunter is who I'm going with right now, as she's the least likely to be said. Put bluntly, she is a airhead, and as such, she's not very good at communicating with other people and makes a lot of mistakes, but that's what makes her relatable.

My favorite is Kamina from Gurren Lagann, even though I haven't watched the entire series yet.

I kept thinking about this for a while, until, really, I figured that I should just ask the question. How old were you when you first discovered anime?
Personally, I think that I'll turn out to be one of the latest to discover anime on this site, hahaha. I kinda stumbled into things a little late. I had watched maybe an episode or two of some things earlier in life, but I didn't know that they were anime and that anime was good. That came when I met Zoop.
I was 6 or 7 when I came across the Pokemon anime in 1999.

Hellsing Ultimate, I have seen it so many times but I have never watched it. I will give it a try, though I am not a fan of action anime.
I think the gore, darkness and the use of ghouls might outweigh the action elements.
-
Seconding on Hellsing Ultimate, though I'm not sure if it's the kind of horror anime you'd like, Seir. It's not technically a thinking man show, though it's not a dumb story either. It also tends to go over-the-top with its action and gore, something which I enjoyed, especially because of how ridiculously powerful (and badass) Alucard was. If that sounds like your kind of show, then I'd say go for it.
Thanks for agreeing with my post. The amount of gore with dark scenery is the reason why I place this series in the horror genre.

I am currently bored and I want to see horror Animes. Sure, I can google the genre but I much prefer to hear your recommendations.
For a gory horror series, I would recommend Hellsing Ultimate.

I remember when I was addicted to this show years ago. Good times...
I'd say Naruto was better. I liked how small-scale the story was and how relatable the characters were. Whether it was a Naruto the "failure", a Rock Lee the "talentless," or Gaara the "outcast," you really felt for them as you saw their struggles, hoping they would succeed in the end. The message that hard-work and dedication could triumph even over genius and one's own fate was a really appealing one to a lot of us.
I was barely stomaching Shippuden because of its really slow pace early on, but what really ruined it for me was Sasuke. I never liked him begin with, but the amount of attention he received as the series went on was unbearable. It especially got ridiculous at how much Sasuke was being ex-machinaed with all those power-ups. Some sloppy writing there, which sadly needed to be done since Naruto after the Pain arc had left Sasuke in the dust at that point. Ya can't have that when you're setting up a future Naruto vs Sasuke final fight. What's worst is that because of all the focus on Sasuke and Naruto, it sidelined the supporting characters who were arguably the most charming feature of Naruto. The likes of Rock Lee, Neji, Tenten, Kiba, Hinata, and others could only stand in the background while Naruto and Sasuke stood in the forefront. It didn't really feel like they accomplished much in the whole of Shippuden because they were largely forgotten, which is sad
I also noticed how Naruto Shippuden's first story arc was dragging its feet for a while. On a more positive note, I remember actually binge-watching episodes of the first series three and a half years ago. Now I'm going to start watching my entire first series Naruto DVD collection with an episode every Saturday evening.

Thanks I started Narato but people keep telling me to skip it and go to shippuden for some reason
I'm glad you like my recommendations. I feel that Naruto and Naruto Shippuden are both great to watch, but my advice is start with the series you want to watch.

Hi I am currently looking for good ideas of New anime to start watching. I so far have watched a little bit of Gundum a long time ago as well as Sailor Moon, I have watched all of Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super, Fairy Tail, and Sword Art Online as well as Digimon, Pokemon, Yugioh, Digunder, Metabots and the basic ones that were shown on Fox Kids in the 90's Currently looking for Ideas of what to start next. I'm not picky on magic meck VRor fighting or any kind of ganre in particular. But my favorite ones I have watched so far have been Fairy tail and Sword Art Online. and surprisingly I enjoyed SAO for its romance as much as action witch I didn't expect. So any recommendations would be appreciated. Turns out there are a lot more Anime's then I thought. And I also don't mind if they are rated TV-MA I've also watched Dragonar Academy as well
Bleach, Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood and Naruto/Shippuden are good recommendations.

Have you ever watched an anime and found yourself becoming lost in the outrageous size and scope that it projects? Do you have any favorite anime that manage to build a ridiculously large world and keep things believable and interesting? If so, then you should share it here!
For me, my favorite massive and EPIC anime is The Twelve Kingdoms (Juuni Kokuki). This was actually one of the first anime that I ever watched, and I was really impressed. At the start, I was expecting a typical fantasy setting, with high level overviews of culture and a world that stayed narrowly focused on one specific region.
Instead, The Twelve Kingdoms went wayyyy beyond any of my expectations. It portrayed at least three complex cultures; their societal rules and expectations; prejudices and superstitions; local mythology; and their architecture, languages (implied, not spoken, I think), etc. As a writer that loves "worldbuilding", I found what they did to be both amazing and unexpected. It was a treat to watch the show, and I only regret that it dropped off without finishing the second season (due to budget issues, I think, but the first season and most of the second were finish, and it's very much worth watching).

What about you? Has the world of a particular anime ever blown you away by its size, scope, or some other feature?
For me, my favorite epic was the original Fullmetal Alchemist series because I was drawn into the show's plot and emotions.

44% of 500 episodes is a lot of filler.

Naruto Shippuden definetely. Though, Shippuden is a nest of plenty fillers and here i have to agree with @ssjup81 but heyyy, Luffy is still searching for the One Piece so i guess it's fine how it is.
Thanks for liking my post, much appreciated.

I have to agree that there were some intense fights and dire situations in Naruto Shippuden.

Do you have a favorite anime or anime character that most people don't know or don't care about? Is there an anime that most people consider bad or just average that you've watched and loved? If either of these is a thing, then share your story here! I'll start.
Rozen Maiden (2004 series)
I really, really loved this show. I was running out of loli in my life , and I just happened to stumble across this one day. The premise sounded completely ridiculous, but the awesome OP song had me hooked. I watched the whole thing, I loved it, I was teary eyed :'(, and I was ready to go online and tell the world how incredible it was. Wellll, it turned out that not many thought it was awesome. Average, maybe, but not totally amazing.
I was shocked and discouraged, but I didn't really care. It's still one of my faves.

What about you?
Here are some underrated shows that I'm aware of:
.Desert Punk
.Detroit Metal City
.Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal
.Basilisk

Naruto because in shippuden they didn't let Naruto do much fighting I do give props at the end tho but over all Naruto wins because he actually fought people instead of searching for sasuke and being protected by others until they couldn't anymore... Anyone else think they did like 20 episodes of pure running in shippuden?
I really enjoyed Naruto's fight against Gaara when I first watched it three and a half years ago. He temporarily abandoned his goofiness as he became so intensely motivated towards defeating Gaara whilst realizing they both had damaged childhoods. The difference was that Naruto was supported by his sensei Iruka where as Gaara was betrayed by his sensei, thus resulting in his destructive behavior.

I really wish I could visit japan and cosplay and go to a convention...
Step 1 learn some Japanese!
Step 2 Make solid amount of money.
Step 3 Make a friend there that can show me around!
sooo any one live there that wants to be my friend and teach me Japanese?
Sounds like a fantastic plan.

I am looking for a new anime to get into.
I'd prefer longer animes but 12 episodes is fine.
- Male Character as the lead
- No romance(or very little...i dont need a love story)
- Scif-FI or Action or Horror is a plus
- Good cast of characters...even if there is a main character i dont want the anime to be all about the main character
- Not too perfect of a character but not to weak.
A bad guy with actual depth and personality who isnt one dimensional.
My favorites:
1. Fate Stay/Night(and Zero)
2. Attack on Titan
3. Deadman Wonderland
4. Parasytw
5. Aldnoah Zero
6. Gangsta
7. Heroic Legend of Arslan
8. Owari No Seraph
9. K
10. World trigger
11. tokyo ghoul
12. Black Butler
13. Zettai karen children
14. Rokka of the 6 braves
15. Hunter X Hunter
16. Charlotte
17. Another
18. SOul Eater
Presently watching Durarara
So anything similar to those animes I am open to watching
I recommend "Naruto", "Death Note" and "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood".
