It's hard to explain but I remember watching a really emotional anime where there was a pretty big plot twist when Spoiler a little boy was thought to be alive and has appeared alive all over the anime, but in the end it was just an imagination of his sister (or some sort of guardian) and the moment she finds out he was actually dead all this time was heartbreaking. Also for the viewers, he seemed to be alive all the time and it was a shock when this revelation happened. The anime was about something tragic, and the relationship between these 2 characters was a big part of the anime. If someone can help me figure it out that would great.
