needs help finding something

So when I was young before I got into anime I young (early 2000s)

I saw this anime on TV. There was a man driving a black car with a unconscious girl intheback and they were being chased by other cars. Eventualy they stop and there's a guy ata bus station with a sword (there's an old man their to) they exchanged words ( earlier it had mentioned something about the guy bonding with the sword) then the guy that was driving the car ended up on the ground and the guy with the sword stabbed him to death. Idk the name of this show but I want to know. I've search everywhere. Please help. I want to know what let up to such a dramatic event
