Her best friend from childhood Kyou Usui who she promised to marry when she grew up. On her sixteenth birthday Misao is attacked by a demon but she is saved by Kyouwho is a powerful demon. She also finds out that she is the Senka or Bride of Prophecy whose blood gives incredible power to any demon that consumes it. Misao soon falls in love with Kyou but the world of demons is a dangerous place and Kyou must fight to protect Misao.
