I have just started reading Manga and I have a question about the number of panels on a page.
Does anyone know if the number of panels on a page, is linked to the speed of what's happening in a particular moment, or is the number of panels used to give more of a cinematic feel to the current story, and the number of panels on the page just happens to be the amount on the page?
Are more panels suppose to be used where characters are talking or explaining events?
Are fewer panels used for quick/decisive movements?
Is it one scene a page?
It might just be because I have just started, but there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for the number of panels. I wont ask for clarity on why they are the shapes they are. From what I have been seeing, it seems to be the size of the panel is to cinematically fit the angle of what's going on and the number on the page just happens to be the number on the page.
An answer to the above would be appreciated
Thank you
