Thank you kindly both of you I need to start checking my email regularly it seems, so I see when people have replied!

I slept late because I spent last night hunting for mein leben in Wolfenstein 2 new colossus. Then I spent the day chitchatting with my girlfriend, then had steak for dinner. It was a pleasant day.

I'm a long-time user of the web, but haven't used an old style forum in many years. I suppose I'm looking for a place that's more genuine, that doesn't have constant advertising and politicisation, and every conversation leading to mentioning [insert random divisive political figure]. I'm not sure I subscribe to the dead internet theory, but it certainly feels like everyone is using the net in a way that's pretty bland, and I'd like to try speaking to real humans again in a place other than discord servers. My old stomping grounds no longer exist, and my handle has apparently never been indexed by a search engine. Last time I used an independent forum, I was using a CRT monitor. That's how long ago it was. Gods I'm getting old. Depressing. But oh well, here's to new friends, if I can make myself keep coming back here. Englishman, mid-30s, taken, nostalgic.
