I can't explain you beyond that. Probably it's just matter of personal taste. I like several sci-fi anime, but don't like this one.

I can't even stand a single episode of Cowboy Bebop.

Maybe Lone Wolf and Cub, maybe Akira, but I wasn't aware it was a specific genre of comics in the Western world. To me it was just some regular comics like Spider-Man. The first manga I read aware it was a Japanese-created comic book was Ranma 1/2.

I never picture I'd see the Wings out of playoffs one day. I root for the Anaheim Ducks.

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! That's nice. Both of them are great. Prince of Tennis needs no introduction. And the only "problem" with Dear Boys is have been published alongside Slam Dunk (although started first and finished later). Probably that's why it took so long for an anime adaptation.

Hello, I'm new to the anime forums. I'm not very fond of every kind of anime and manga, but I'm a big fan of some specific genres and particular works. Hope to have good discussions here.

I played basketball and indoor football ("futsal") at high school level. Also fought Northern Praying Mantis style wu shu kung fu in my teen age. I currently don't practice any sports.
